I know of 3 other families from an earlier (WAY earlier) post.... anyone else? I'm Melinda. I'm traveling with my Husband, DS/12, DS/9, and DD/(will be)7. It's our 1st cruise ever and we're all VERY excited...... Almost ready for a 6 month countdown!

OK - found the thread!

I'm Cris, traveling from NJ with DH, and 3 kids. My daughter and son are twins and will be just three weeks shy of 7 years old and my son will be 5 1/2 years old. My DH is a bit annoyed because he is a die-hard Rutgers football fan (has been for 19 years since he first went there - not just jumping on the bandwagon after the good season!) and he's missing the first two home games of the season. I told him to get over it or not come with us! hee heee

I'm excited - very excited. :) And I'm on-line way too much.

Ok...`since it's a new thread, I figured I'd pretend we haven't been "talking" yet!:lmao: Ok... seriously.....

St. Marteen: It's funny you mention the Dolphin excursion. We're seriously considering it. The only thing is, Disney's web page says "pet and feed", the actual companys' web site (dolphinfantaseas.com) says "swim, play catch, race, etc...." When I called Disney they told me that if there's any question that even 1 group would not get to swim w/ the dolphins, they err on the side of caution and don't post that it's included. So.... do we blow $1000 on the chance we'll get to swim, or do we hit the beach? I posted a question asking if anyone had ever been on this excursion & no replies yet.... we'll see.

St. John/St. Thomas: I am ALL ABOUT the beach! I'm the one that is on the beach, set-up, and ready to hang out @ 8am. We normally don't leave until after Happy Hour on the beach (oops! did I say that out loud? That was my inner voice coming out again because I KNOW most beaches definitley do not allow alcohol on the beach!) :drinking1 I think we're going to try & snorkel somewhere in St.J/St.T. That is one thing all the kids have asked to do. As I said before, the Passporter's guide has proven to be invaluable!

We are looking forward to the Stingray thing @ Castaway Cay, too. Actually, we're looking forward to CC all together! So many people rave about it!

FYI... We just booked a limo from Port to Airport. Disney wanted to charge us $35/pp to heard us onto their shuttle bus with 500 other people. 5 people= $175!!!??? You have truly got to be kidding me! We rented an Excursion Stretch Limo for $200 (and that includes a stop @ the liquor store for 1 last bottle of champagne before our trip truly ends.) Not sure what you guys are doing, but figured I'd throw it out there... If you're taking the shuttle back, you're in the same boat.... (no pun intended!)

Anyway... would love to email more that I found out instead of boring anyone else who pops in to check out the thread... will try to send a personal msg to you.

Melinda

:thumbsup2 This will also be our first disney cruise. It me DH/33 my DW/25 and DD/6. We are flying down the day before, renting a car from MCO and driving to the port. Figure we have soem time to do some site seeing. We are staying at the new Country Inn and Suites close to the port. Good an awesome deal on it. Also have a rental car reserved for the trip back to MCO. Now all we have to do is wait 6 more months.

Hi, Jae!

We're doing the same thing... my family is flying in 8/31, renting a car from Budget, and driving to Port. Not sure wether we're going to just sit by the pool & start Happy Hour early or go sightsee.... I'm just happy to get there early and not worry about timing!

We're in Rockville, MD... our snow is supposed to hit Tues. Are you getting the storm a head of us? I haven't heard any accumulation predictions for here.

Have you guys looked at any excursions?
Melinda

For those who've been to Palo, should DH and I do the Sunday brunch or the dinner? And - do you think its better to do Palo at a Day at Sea or an excursion day? I'm leaning towards dinner on an excursion day (although I have no idea why!) I'm thinking it'll be great to go there on a night where there is a good night-time thing planned at the Oceaneer's Club (pj party, movie night - something along those lines) so we can ditch off the kids for a few hours.

Hi Melinda! Got your PM which I replied to. So nice to meet you.:)

I believe there's another 9/1/07 thread somewhere with more posts. So everyone, we're almost 6 months out. Once we hit the 6 month mark, things will start to speed up as we all take care of last minute details. Once we're a couple week out, the time will go by sooooo slooooooow. Trust me, it's what happened to us on our last trip to WDW!

Crissy, I would plan on doing both if you can fit it in. As for dinner, I'd do that on a night where you're repeating a restaurant. I hear both brunch and dinner are delicious, so we're doing both. I'm very excited because my eldest son will have just turned 18 before the cruise so it'll be his first adult experience.:)

Castillo Mom,

Got your PM back! Yes... I saw your responses on the "other" 9/1 thread. :)

I just ordered all our snorkeling stuff today.... I guess I need to decide WHERE we're going to snorkel now:lmao:

On with the countdown!!!!
Melinda

OK.... I think I have this condition w/ relation to the cruise... 1st time ever & I keep flip-flopping w/ regard to excursions! :scared1: :scared1:

Is anyone else looking at excursions yet or am I the only one!!!???:scared:

Doin' my little happy dance right now! I need to shout:

SIX MONTHS UNTIL WE LEAVE!

Thank you. :cool1:

And this trip keeps getting better!

We now have free dining for the few days we're going to WDW before the cruise! I will be eating my way through not just the Caribbean but the World now too!

Oh yeah!!!!!

We have two families going, my sister and her family - DH, DD 14 yrs, DS 12 - almost 13 yrs, and our family - DH & DD 4 yrs. Would love to hear of any other kids around the same ages, so they have some one to hang out with..
We are flying in on 8/31 and staying at the Country Inn.
Can't wait to be boarding!!

we are sailing 9-1-07 as well. It will be me, DH and DD who will be 3 then. So when I booked my cruise I booked the trasportation from the airport to the port. I was thinking of canceling that and doing our own. We are flying in a day early. How does that work?

Noelle

4 MONTHS & COUNTING!!!! We're flying in on the 31st also- staying at the Raddison @ the Port.

I can book by stuff in 18 days!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
