OK - here is our situation after a very long roller coaster ride! We finally booked a flight (after cancelling three other between this past Friday thru Sunday). We are scheduled to leave Hartford, CT at 7:15AM on Monday and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 10:15 a.m. Have a rental car booked thru Avis to drive from Fort Lauderdale to PC.
Our concerns of course are safety - i.e. road/bridge damage, downed electrical wires, down trees, etc. On top of that, will we get a rental car with a full tank of gas to get us to PC or if not, can we get gas........since it is in such short supply.
Bottom line is we are waiting till Sunday afternoon to access any damage via news or online.
Obviuosly will NOT risk life and limb to get there, but it would be nice since we have all gone thru so much trouble changing and re-changing plans. Any thoughts out there as to damage/gas situations???????
