Everyone had their favorite dance club at Pleasure Island and one that stayed crowded nearly every night, early to late, was 8TRAX. It was a fun mix of late 70's/early 80's music where everyone knew the words to every song.
As you may know, The Groove at Universal CityWalk has been running an 80's Night every Thursday night for a couple months now. It features former 8TRAX DJ Doc at the helm. (although he was on vacation last night)
I've witnessed this night really expand. Apparently local radio advertising is helping get the word out. I was out there last night and it was absolutely PACKED....almost what you'd experience on a Saturday night. And it was just one hit after another with the major difference from 8TRAX being that this is 80's only, no 70's disco. There was a large pack of women dressed in early 80's garb looking a bit like Cyndi Lauper and Madonna from back then.
So Orlando locals and you tourists who are in town on a Thursday night, give this a try. It is a LOT of fun! Admission is $6.99.
