Looking to get e new card and the manual for my D60 has approved cards up to 4GB. Saw a good deal on a SD Extreme III 8GB card but was wondering if it will have issues since it is not listed.

Anyone every use one in the D60?

Thanks

Not sure what the good deal was (how much the 8GB cost) but right now on Adorama.com, you can get the SanDisk Extreme III 4GB with the card reader for $34.99. You wouldn't think that sounds like a good deal, but if you are willing to fill out a rebate form (for purchases up to October 11th) you can get 1 card for $34.99 - $20.00 rebate ($15 after rebate), if you get 2 cards it is $70.00 - $45.00 rebate ($25 total for 2 cards) or if you get 3 cards (which I did) it is $105.00 - $75.00 rebate ($30 for 3 cards - $10 each).

They offer free shipping. When I saw this, I scooped three of my own up and now after I fill out the rebate form, I have 12GBs of memory for $30. Not bad at all.

I use the SD Extreme III 8GB card with my D60 and have had no problems. I also carry cheaper cards with me just in case. It's always good to have backups!

That is the site I was looking at. The 8GB is the same price ($25) as two 4GB. Just figured I'd rather have 1 8Gb card then 2 4GB cards.

Thanks

No it is actually better when out shooting to use more than 1 card. That way if something happens you haven't lost all your images.

Totally agree, that is why I purchased 5 4gb cards. They will still hold hundreds of pictures each and if for some reason something happened after a whole day of shooting and I realized they didn't write onto the card, or if I lost my camera on the 4th day of the trip with a full memory card, at least with the 4gbs I won't have to worry as much about something happening. I'm a bit of a worry wort. :goodvibes
