8am RD vs Fastpass?

we will be doing the 8am rope drope EMH, park opens at 9. Should I really keep stalking the site for those elusive 8am fastpasses or will we honestly be ok just doing the emh shorter wait times? We are hoping to of course do A&E and the boys will head to Space Mountain.

FPs start at regular park open, so no 8 AM FPs if regular park open is 9 AM.

Regardless, using fastpasses in the first hour the park is open sort of defeats the purpose of having FPs (which are most valuable when lines are longest). Rack up some rides in the first couple hours when lines are shorter then do your FPs.

I would not waste a FP+ for anything early in the morning. (Maybe only A&E if you cannot get a later time) It wouldn't be needed for SM.

Personally, if we're doing rope drop, I schedule our first FP for about 2 hours after the park opens. So many things (especially at MK) are a walk-on during those first few hours. We had an 8:00 a.m. (non-emh) opening at MK in June that we did rope drop for. We headed to Frontierland first and rode Splash & BTMRR twice each with no wait. We could have gone on each of them at least 1 more time with no wait but wanted to get to some other things first. In addition to those 2 rides, we also did HM, IASM, Buzz, People Mover, and COP (as well as lingering in the HM gift shop and taking a bathroom break) all before our 10:30 FP for 7DMT.

as @mom2rtk said.... there are no FP+ during EMH so they are not just elusive they are nonexistent.

i wouldn't make any FP+ selections for anything until 10am.

take full advantage of the morning EMH and the first hour of regular park hours.

Ok thanks! I wasn't sure if they existed or not So that is basically what I have scheduled as is, our fastpasses begin around 9:30 & 10. Guess I wasn't certain if we really would get much shorter wait times, but sounds like it!
