89.99 Theme Park Tix at Kroger

I didn't buy any tickets at kroger or aaa but I booked a vacation package through the universal website right before the price increase and picked the $100 7day unlimited parks pass and then finished paying for the vacation after the increase. I have the e-travel print out and it shows the tickets I picked and says i have to pick them up at a kiosk, i'm just getting worried now seeing all these problems with the discount passes and hoping i'm not going to get the tickets when i'm there next month and for some reason they wont work. I hope it should be fine since technicaly i bought them before, i just know when i was checking the hotel for our reservation they said universal doesn't send the reservation until 72hrs before check in and am worried they do the same with the tickets and then they wont exist.:confused3
If you booked through Universal or bought your tickets and they were able to activate them at the store I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. If you're really worried go ahead and call Universal and they will probably ask you to fax a copy of the tickets so they can verify them. Try not to stress :P

Yea i probably will call. Thats the reason why i'm worried, i dont have any tickets, i'm suppose to get them at the kiosk at universal when i get there.

You will be fine. You bought them through Universal. Don't worry about it. They have all your information on file.

I can report that I bought a 7-day/2-park ticket in the last days of the Dreams Unlimited promotion, just after the price increase went into effect, and had no problem retrieving my ticket from an IOA kiosk a couple of weeks ago. I already had my ticket for that particular trip (one of the notorious discounted Ticketmaster tickets, btw...heh). But it seemed like a good idea to grab one of those really cheap 7-days while they were still available. I believe that literally the day after I bought mine, a ton of posts appeared here along the lines of "Hey, the DU banner is gone! Can I still get the ticket deal? Has anyone been to Kroger?" etc. So that was a close shave. :yay:

I guess I'm just plain out of luck. I live near Seattle and never even heard of a Kroger's grocery store. :rotfl2:

I'm kind of confused about what tickets to buy though. We plan on 1 full day at Universal & 1 full day at IOA. We wouldn't be park hopping. Just want to take it all in at a relaxing pace. So which tickets would we want to buy? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The 2 day base ticket would work. It is $109.99

I have to say i'm a little sad some of the old rides are gone like kong and back to the future as i am a fan but also becuase my girlfriend has never been at all and i know she would of liked kong, banana breath...lol:banana:

Unfortunately you're one of the people who get hurt the most. It will cost you $55/day each. What they would prefer is for you to buy their 7-day park hoppers because they are such a "deal". But's here's a little story about deals.

Let's pretend you're in a store, just wandering around when all of a sudden over the loudpeaker comes this announcement: Sweaters, normally $100 now just $10!! So you rush over and buy one. How much did you save?

Answer: you didn't save anything, you spent $10 you had no intention of spending. You can try and rationalize it away--"I can always use another sweater, I can sell it on Ebay and make big bux profit, etc." but the fact is they steered you into taking their product and giving up your cash.

And that's how these "discounts" work, by steering you into spending money you don't really want to spend on the pretext of saving it. "Sure, I don't need 7 days but look how much I save by buying it!!" Right

WDW at least has the option of no expiration date on their tickets so you can get something out of your unused days. All this does is, ahem, save you money.

There is a phone number that says for gift card questions call 1-866-544-8062 on the activation status receipt.

Just got off of the phone from the gift card call number and i am soooo relieved..... they confirmed that all 6 of my tickets are activated. Woo Hoo:cool1: Now can't wait for March 28th to get here.......

That is excellent news! Glad the number from my activation slip was able to help you!!!

This reminded me of some language on the back of my UO admission ticket that I wasn't expecting. It says "Ticket expires 6 days after first use" and it's a 7-day ticket. I believe this is different from the way Disney handles such a ticket: under Disney's scheme, you have a 14-day window (including the day of first use) in which to use up your ticket, in the absence of the No Expiration feature. Universal apparently decided to impose a narrower time clock on their ticket, 7 consecutive days starting the moment I show up, so I guess I can forget about a day off at some other attraction, heh.

I (or really my wife) just found a bunch of them at a Kroger in Augusta GA.

Paid for them and then tried to activate and it was refused. The manager is trying to help, but it looks like that this one is going to be a dead deal like most others have reported.

The old Universal $99/ 7 day tickets expired 6 days after first use. That doesn't mean that you have to attend every day of those 7 days. You can go one day 1 and day 7. You can't go after day 7 though.

The new Universal tickets expire the same way as the Disney tickets. You have 14 consecutive days in which to use your allotted days.

Hmm, I guess I just never paid any attention to this part of Universal's "old" ticket system. I had been buying from Ticketmaster recently, and TM prints so much extraneous stuff all over their tickets that I just didn't notice it.

Yep, they work. I can confirm that I bought mine in January and used them February 13, after the purchase was stopped, and they were good. It says on the paper they are stuck to that you should exchange them for something at the ticket booth, but I was told to walk right up to the entry turnstiles with them, and they worked.

I hold them in my hand...ya think it was gold :rotfl2: There were at least 20 more on the rack & I asked if I could take some extra without having them activated but the girl said no they couldn't leave the store...:confused3 I told her they had no value till they were activated (as stated on the card itself) but she insisted it was like stealing...well ok then.
326 more days till our vacation :)

They are tracked by the company who supplies them to us. 4 times a year, we inventory them. I work for one of their divisions.
