The plan will stay the same even if there's no P&PP. :teeth:[/COLOR][/B]

Yeah Right!:lmao:

I have a theory on the subject. It's kind of Fuzzy. (Imagine that.)

I believe WDW set out the original DDP with every intention of tweaking it a couple years down the pike so as to make it less desirable. See, hook a whole new crop of DIsney-goers with what could be a great savings on the DDP. Make sure they enjoy it enough to come back the next year. Then, the third year, make it a bit less desirable for the consumer, a bit more proftiable for the company. Sure, you might lose a couple families here and there, but most are now hooked and will keep spending their vacation dollars at WDW, despite it not being quite so good of a deal.

Mark my words, next year or the year after, the DDP will cease to exist at all, but Disney will still be getting this new crop of vacationers coming back year after year. :thumbsup2

That's when Mickey goes in for the kill with... DVC!!! :rotfl:

Heck they had me at Hello!

So true, so true! :lmao:
Yeah Right!:lmao:
Hey! :headache:

Ditto, that.

I think I was one of the very first testers for the DDP back in 1994. It was called something else though, I think "Food and Fun". It was the best!

3 free meals a day - anywhere we wanted to go.
apps, entree, drink, and desert at every meal -- no alcohol. Which was okay since I was only 18.

and we got a free recreation everyday - mini golf, speed boats, etc...

Oh, I miss those days. That was one of my very favorite trips.
We had the Food & Fun package on our honeymoon in 1996. It consisted of 2 TS meals a day which included the appetizer, entree and dessert and a nonalcoholic drink and gratuities, plus the recreation. Even the breakfast had appies! We were freakin' full every day. I prefer last years DDP with 1 CS and 1 TS plus grats. Still this year's change does stink.

I make my ADR's in 9 hours and 50 minutes:cool1: :cool1:

Hey, did I win the name the song contest? What did I win:confused3 ;)

Sorry to abandon everyone yesterday, but once I found out AP rates were out, I had to get busy. I came away empty handed....sort of. The AP rates end May 21. We could either change our dates and miss A's b-day, or go off-site, or suck it up and "pay" weekend DVC points. Still nothing available at the Poly or CR MK view. Errrg.

But, what I did want to share is that they are really really pushing the DDP to APers. I told one CM that it just wasn't a good deal anymore. He said well you save 40%. I told him that was a load of crap. Doesn't he know who I am? ;) He was actually arguing with me. I said over and over that with the tip not included, that it wasn't a good deal. Then he said, "well the tip is up to your discretion." What in the heck does that mean? Anyhow, I do think DDP sales are way down.

Oooh, fun!

  Get busy girl...Did you book yet:banana:

I think they are too! I don't think DDP is long for this world;)

The tip is up to your discretion... perfect! That's just what we need, more angry servers to ruin a nice WDW meal because they are constantly stiffed on the tip - and now the reservation CMs are promoting that idea. :sad2:

It's all very interesting... popcorn:: I wonder if there will be free dining after all this year? :confused3

Sorry you didn't get your AP rates, S'late. Don't give up yet! :goodvibes

Good luck with your ADRs, Janet!!! :dance3:

So, I just got off the line with Disney Dining. I made my ADR's and I got "Have a Magical Day"

Here is the schedule as it stands now (based on the P & P Party assumption:rolleyes: (DM, get ready to start spreadsheeting;)

8/19/08 - Travel Day - Dinner @ 1900 Park Fare

8/20/08 - DHS - Lunch @ Sci Fi Dine In

8/21/08 - AK - Breakfast @ Tusker House (Where T ditched me:sad2: ;) )

8/22/08 - TL AM/EPCOT PM - No ADR's (Will try to go to Beaches & Cream)

8/23/08 - EPCOT - WEINERFEST:banana:

8/24/08 - MK/LOEMH? - Breakfast Crystal Palace (with Mo)

8/25/08 - Sleep In - Hopefully Raglan Road(**See explanation below)

8/26/08 - MK/P & P Party (??) - Dinner Liberty Tree Tavern

8/27/08 - No Park- Dinner ESPN Club

8/28/08 - MK - Lunch Plaza Restaurant

8/29/08 - :sad2: Travel Day - Breakfast @ Kona

SO there you have it, for now..There may be a couple of changes if they wind up not having P & P Party, but I think they will;)

As for Raglan Road I could not make the ADR today...the CM said that sometime the non-Disney restaurants will not allow them to make ressies this far out:confused3 so I have to keep calling back. If we can't get in, it won't ruin the trip or anything and we can just do a CS somewhere that night...no biggie:thumbsup2

That was the first thing I thought of, too, Michelle. I was a waitress for a while post-college - I'd smack someone who was more or less encouraging no (or lousy) tips. :headache:

Hooray, and it looks good! I think I ended up calling RR directly, but it was the last decision I made as it was our "date night."

I'm sure you all have the 800# right?

I sure wish my dh wasn't so stubborn about the heat. It would be fun to go in August/Sept.

I wish the would eliminate the purchase of a one day ticket with everyone to get the DDP. And if you are on the DDP, I heard when you get a bill for the tip, plus any other charges you incurred that wasn't on the DDP at TS. I would be really uncomfortable receiving a bill from a CM just for their tip.

When we used the plan last April, I always paid more for the tip. I found out they didn't get their tips till the end of the month. My sister is a waitress, so I know how important tips are.

Yes! That would be very uncomfortable even if you're planning on tipping well it just seems wrong.

They did! Effective yesterday we no longer have to buy the one day ticket!:woohoo:

.
This wasn't really a prob for us....alcohol related expenses seemed to appear on the tab too, so the servers just said "want the rest on the room??"

Yep! (and we added the tip, signed it and left--just like a regular restaurant)

(it's a problem NOW, cause I just got the Visa bill! )

But it wasn't awkward at any meal.

Congrats Janet, I am making the call for plan A on Saturday.

If you have an AP you should really consider the DDE card (the 18% tip is automatically added to the bill and in most cases we put additional tip). This past trip alone with just Murph and me more than covered the $60 price of the card.
