I started making my list of what to ship ahead to my mom here is what I have so far. If you think of anything I am missing let me know

Left there from last year poncho's

Swim Aids for Jimmy, Sunblock, Lip Balm, Shampoo, Bath Soap, Hand Soap, Huggies bath Mitts, Toothpaste (adults & kids), $ store toothbrushes, deoderant, razors, shaving cream, aleve, pepto, tums, claratin, Children's Tylenol, Band Aids, Anti-Bacterial Wipes, overnight pull-ups (if Jimmy still needs them), off-wipes, clorox wipes. Most of this stuff will be tossed at the end of the trip (like the toothbrushes, disposable razors, etc.) so I don't have to pack them coming home. The medications will come home with us.

I know things will be added as we go along, but I figured I's start the list now and starting with this weeks paycheck pick up a few things each week so we are not getting hit with a huge cash outlfow at one time.

Okay, input please...

Spoodles?

Captain's Grille?

Cape May?

Have never been to Spoodles or Captain's Grille. We enjoyed CMC when we went, but that was a couple of years ago. Ok, non of this was really helpful, was it:confused3 :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: It's okay. CMC looks really good, and the reviews on allears are almost all positive. We really like Spoodles, but I'm thinking maybe we should try something new. :confused3 Captain's Grille has mixed reviews, so I'm not sure about that one. Good thing I have plenty of time to change my mind 7 or 8 or 31 times:rotfl2:

It used to be called Yacht Club Galley, or something like that.

Mo, how's Namath?

Oh I like YCC, had a great breakfast there last spring. I had the whole palce to myself:thumbsup2

I just posted a full update ON TFW, but long story short I won't know anything until tomorrow, something is going on with his kidneys and the bladder looked ok. Thanks for asking!

7 MONTHS TO GO
WOOO HOOOTY!!!!

Ok, so my 2 gal pals (LL & V)just called me from O'Hana's - they're having a great time and OMG! everything they said is going to make a fantastic trip report! You guys are gonna love it!!
::yes:: I'm not doing one, but LL's is gonna be DA BOMB! :thumbsup2

T, is was so good to talk to you!

And may I say - it's going to be pure torture making sure I don't say anything till LL reports?! :rolleyes1

The "advice" part comes into booking. Should I go ahead and book anything at this point, or do the wait and see approach? I'm fully able to cancel until something like July, right?
Here's my thought...

AP discounts and FL resident discounts are somewhat based on how booked up the resorts are: Theoretically, if enouhg people book this early, it could limit potential discounts. That said, I've never in the past had a problem booking discounted rooms in late Aug.

BUT, if you really have your heart set on a particular resort, I'd go ahead and book now, to be sure. If a discount comes along and there's availability at that resort, great. If not, at least you got the resort you wanted.

Did that help, or hinder more?!

Okay, input please...

Spoodles?
Eh. That's all, just eh. You can do better. :thumbsup2

I can do better than Spoodles? Better than all of them? My sister want to go to The Brown Derby, but I'm looking at the menu and not super impressed for the $$$. So I was thinking we could head to one of the boat-able resorts and eat. Ugh. To be responsible for the happiness of 12 people.:headache:

My turn for an update...

I forgot to call Member Services yesterday to change my Aug. ressie to AKV. I just got off the phone with them:

Standard view - wasn't avaialble 8/21 :headache:
Value - wasn't available 8/21 :headache:

Savannah - WAS available 8/21! I've got 8/21 and 8/22 switched and I'll call again tomorrow morning to switch 8/23.

So, I'm not saving any points with a Savannah room. Which totally messes up the rest of my 2008 plans for point usage. :headache: But I'm okay with it. Maybe we'll just use cash for Dec.

So now I need to think about dining... and coming off another trip to WDW, I'm more convinced than ever that I'm perfectly happy with CS for most meals. Trust me - make sure your TS plans allow PLENTY of time for ordering, eating and paying. The new DDP is slowing things down, big-time. Maybe they'll have a better system by Aug., but knowing Disney, I doubt it. ;)

Anyway, I'm thinking a return visit to Boma is in order the night of 8/21 or 8/22.

Are we still on for Wienerfest?! I'll keep that lined up for 8/23.

And that's it. I believe we'll wing it for the rest.

T - are you still breathing?

Just Spoodles - I wasn't real impressed. I had lunch at Yacht Club Galley last Dec. and it wasn't bad. Haven't been to Cape May.

I have to say, I drool just thinking about the couple meals I've had at Brown Derby. So, so very good. :cloud9: Also, Flying Fish was always a favorite. BUT, this was years ago - I wonder if quality's gone down?

Thanks for the input, V. I don't know what we'll do. Like you, we're perfectly happy going to CS route the entire time. BUT, my sister and her family are a completely different story.

Let me know which night you decide on for Boma. The boys, DH and I were thinking of heading there the early part of the trip. I could throw zebra domes at you from across the room ;)

Maybe a standard view will open up:confused3

We normally do mostly CS, the only reason I have so many scheduled this time because of DNeph coming with us. We are not doing DDP so Iw on't feel guilty if I wind up cancelling something becasue we don't want to waste time;)

::yes:: :yay: :yay:

OK, you guys are confusing me. :faint: I thought that since Tracy is at SSR now, that you and LL were going to keep your DVC ressies there? When I called MS to make our Christmas reservation I also asked about AKV concierge, just to see if it was available at the 7-month mark. They had 1 studio left. I almost switched but then I remembered that no one was going to be there, so I just kept my BWV reservation. :sad1: It's OK, though. I don't think the Sunrise Safari (which is why I wanted to stay concierge) would have worked out for us anyway. We would have had to do it the morning we leave...

I hope a Value or Standard villa opens up for you. I know what it's like to have the points not add up correctly when you have to make a change! :headache:

-Michelle

P.S. Can we have a little hint about what happened in WDW??? Pul-eeze??? :flower3:
