We are booked on our first Disney cruise Oct 9th Western. We have been assigned rm 8520 and I'm noticing from the deck plans that it seems to be below the whirlpool. How late does the whirlpool stay open and can you hear the noise from below? We have 2 young children who go to bed fairly early and now I'm concerned. Otherwise we are very excited and enjoying all the info on these boards. Thanks!

We stayed in 8048, which is under one of the whirlpools at the Goofy pool and never heard any noise from it. You're really not directly under it. It will be above you but across the hall from your room.

We are in room 8520 for the 4 night leaving in 3/14/04 (3 days! yoohoo). I will let you know if you hear the whirlpool. I am counting down and I am sooooo ready!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thanks Txmomof3. I'll be anxious to get a first hand report on the room. I'm SO jealous, we have months to wait! Hope you have the best time!!!

KyBuckeye,

I wanted to let you know that 8520 was a great room for us. The location was great. We just went up one flight of stairs and we were at the pools. I never heard any noise above us. My three kids slept like babies, but then again so did I. If you have any other questions let me know!!!

I am having cruise withdrawals....:(

Thanks TxMomof3! I'm so glad to hear the room is quiet. How was the rest of your cruise? How old are your kiddos? Mine will be 6 & 5 at cruise time in Oct. I'm hoping they will enjoy the kid's activities, our daughter is very shy about such things. Wonder if we will have the same room steward, or perhaps they switch around all the time. Did you do the rebooking for another cruise? I'd love to hear about your trip! BTW, dh is a Texan, born in Houston but "migrated" to Kentucky when he was about 9. However in his book; once a Texan always.....!

My children are 4, 7, and 8. My daughter is the 4 yr old and she is shy as well. It took her a little while to warm up to the characters and the servers talking to her. Whenever someone talked to her that she did not know she buried her head in me. She eventually started loving the attention. We all had a really good time. The kids were able to see the characters and they loved the Mickey Pool and waterslide. We did snorkle at Castaway Cay and they loved that. They did not spend that much time in the kids club though. We were always doing things together. Our room hostess was Jeannette. Maybe you will have her again. Very freindly and of course accomodating. Whatever we needed she got it for us. Our servers were Putra and Jackie. We had the late seating because there were several things in the kids club that started at 7:00 that our kids wanted to do. The activities were over around 8:00, so then we went to dinner. THe servers were fantastic with the kids. I think you will have a great time and your children are a great age for the cruise. If you have any specific questions let me know and I will try to answer them.

Your husband is right, once a Texan always a Texan. Or, you can take a person out of Texas, but you can not take the Texas out of the person. :):hyper: Anyway, have a great time and let me know how your trip went.:wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

You may hear people screaming, "Why isn't this hot tub HOT???"

I was really looking forward to soaking in a nice hot hot tub on the March 13th cruise but they were all luke warm. Maybe a degree or two above the swimming pool but that's it.

I was also wondering the same thing. I was reading my Disney Passporter and one of the cabins it said to avoid is one that we booked - 8540. Any one have any problem with any noise above?

We will also be staying in 8520 on the Oct. 2 Eastern Cruise and was wondering the same thing..... very glad to hear the responses! :teeth:
