I didn't have airplane bangs (you know...bangs that could snag a passing airplane). Instead I used Wet by Sebastian to get that "Wet" look on my awful perm.

Funny, Aqua Net is sooooo 50's and 60's to me.

All the woman I was around in the 80's and 90s shunned any products in the hair, perms and the natural look were big.

These days a lot of woman (and men) come to work with so much stuff in the hair, it looks like they need to go home and wash their hair!

I had a shaved head with super long bangs, or a semi mohawk, and a period of robert smith hair. Hairspray didn't cut it in the pit. We used elmer's glue watered down.....:lmao:

I dont know what was worse - all the hours I spent using a curling iron to get my hair "just right" or the copious amounts of Jeri Redding spray cement I used :rotfl2:.

To this day, I cannot drink gin. I told DH, "It tastes just like Aqua Net hairspray." He wanted to know how the hell I knew what Aqua Net hairspray tasted like and I told him, "Once that stuff's been sprayed, you can't help but breathe some in......and trust me, gin tastes just like Aqua Net." :rotfl2: My mother was a devotee of Aqua Net from waaaaaay back.

I can smell the scents of the '80s right through this thread! My HS BFF was a combo aqua net & stuff stuff addict, complete with "the bangs". I have naturally curly hair, and am not a bangs girls, so stuck with Aussie sprunch spray to give me the requisite poof to my hair :-)

I can remember a summer of friends and I buying mouse, spiking our hair every which way! Good fun! Could end up looking like an explosion of hair, the Don King look, on a windy day, something common in the mid-west.

Wind could never move the hair of an East Coast girl. Rock solid!
