8040 and vicinity?

While we were on the Wonder recently, I checked out my stateroom for next year (8040) and noticed a distinctive chlorine smell. It appears rooms in this location are across from a hot tub/pool maintenance room. There was also a fairly loud motor humming noise.

Does anyone know if the smell and noise is noticeable inside the staterooms? There are only 6 cat 8's left on this sailing, all very far aft or fore. I like the location of 8040 better, but I am concerned.

Any input, friends?

My familiy have stayed in 8040 although on the Magic, but I presume they are exactly the same.

Its a lovely familiy room with a good view and was well presented.

I never noticed any funny smell at all, it is true there are no rooms directly opposite but the position near the lifts was very good and a quick run up the stairs to the open deck.

Thinking about it the only problem was a bit of noise if they had a band on the deck, I only noticed this one night for the deck party.

Thanks for the info! I was very happy with the location but still concerned about motor noise and smelling too "near the pool" in our room. Glad you didn't smell anything odd.

I know the rooms are pretty noise-proof as you can barely hear someone knock on your door (even at 2 a.m. when it is your key-forgetting teenager )

I just looked up the information in my Passporter guide and with room 8040 being a category 4, you'd have a verandah. I think with the cat 6's you only get a porthole. That would be another plus for you.

we were in room 8044on the magic and noticed no smell and we dont remember hearing any niose eather we slept great enjoy your cruise we are currently planning our second cruise too on the western magic
