LOVE Willie! Can't usually afford to go to his infrequent shows in our area, but more than 10 years ago, I lucked into a great deal. I was in Florida for two weeks on business and looking for something to do on the weekend. I saw in the paper (or maybe it was on TV) that the Zellwood Corn Festival was going on that weekend. Never heard of Zellwood, but figured out where it was and went. For $15, you got a dinner with ham, bread, all the corn you could eat, maybe another veggie, and all the ice tea you could drink. Free music all afternoon/evening and Willie was the headliner. What a great show!

I am so jealous! I absolutely LOVE Willie! My parents are going to see him in concert this month in Missouri and I so want to go with them. I've seen him in concert twice and I hope I get to again.

Not a fan myself but our nephew got engaged to his current wife at one a few years ago so I guess there is something about him. Rather than a freebie though, wouldn't it fall into the PRICELESS category. That must have been something!

I have a similar story. About 10 years ago, back when Garth Brooks was still around real big and touring, I just really LOVED him (still do ). We got tickets to his concert after camping out all night and I got like 5th or 6th row. It was so awesome. On the way to the show I had by husband stop so I could buy him a rose, he said I was stupid and that Garth would never even see the rose or the note I wrote telling him how awesome I thought his music was. WELL, I ended up getting up to the stage and his body guard tried to tell me to sit down and Garth STOPPED him and waved him on to let me wait. At a certain point in the song he came over kneeled down and took my rose right out of my hand AND he reached over and kissed me on the cheek. OMG, I was so excited. The sucky part is I had the camera so DH couldn't take a picture. I ran back to my seat and was so excited, DH of course saw the whole thing. My Mom was sitting in the nose bleed section and I ran up to see if she had seen it, she did but didn't know it was me. Then I ran out to the lobby and called one of my sisters collect (and we were in the same town- LOL), I just had to tell her, she still picks on me to this day that I called collect, but hey, I didn't have a coin! Then one of the funniest things is the next day I talked to my best friend who had also been there somewhere else in the crowd and the first thing she said was "did you see that witch he kissed' and I was like " That witch was ME!!!!!". She flipped out. It was so funny.

EEWW. I would have definetely threw up if that had of happened to me. I Dont like Willie at all he makes my skin crawl.
Just thinking about it made me throw up in my mouth just a little.

While I love Willie, I don't know if I would like a kiss on the lips from him.
A kiss on the cheek however, would be nice.
So glad you got close enough to him to get a kiss. He is one of my heroes.
