8 YEAR OLD BOY Christmas gifts

This is my soon to be 9 year old ds's list

Star Wars figures
Star Wars legos
Mario, Luigi & Bowser Inside story DS game
Star Wars Clone Wars republic Wii game
Super Mario Wii game

He asked for an ipod but he isn't getting one this year. He has an MP3 player already that he hasn't taken very good care of, so that wiill have to wait until next year. I do have a MixMax packed away that I may give him, it was $17 so if something happens to it I won't be out over $100.

My ds8 is into Legos, anything Star Wars, and Wii....He is also starting to get inot Bakugan, whatever the heck that is..lol... They make some Lego Wii games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman) for $20 (not sure if the little guy you're inquiring about has a Wii)

I go him an erector set with motors at Costco for $20, he likes to build and though it would be a nice change from Legos...

He also wants an art set and easel.

Sounds like you both could be buying for MY 8 year old LOL!

He's got a ds, but the kid seems to buy the games as soon as they come out.
No wii... we have #blush# an old game system. We are not cool ;)

Bakugan... good idea. He has those. Maybe a carrying case if they make such a thing.

Erector set with a motor sounds way cool!!!

He has about 100 Star Wars figures, ships, etc. I should keep an eye out for something new there, too.

He's also mentioned a digital camera. He's probably old enough for one now.

Thanks!

Between my 2 ds's we have alot but now they want all the new animated clone wars figures, even if they are the same character as the ones the already have. I think we have about 5 different Obi Wan's already
I did pick up some that will probably be hard to find, but there is no way they will be getting them all :scared1:

A digital camera is a good idea. I got my older ds one last year, it was teh Disney PixMax. he really like that he could add things to the pics while they were on the camera. If I could do it again, I'd probably get him a real camera because I think he'd be more inclined to use it more.

I pre-ordered the Super Mario Wii game (the new one), right now that seems to be the "hot" gift for christmas. We already got Bowser's Inside Story for the DS a few weeks ago for a birthday gift and it's a big hit. DS loves the Lego action figures but DS 4 makes a huge mess of the pieces around the house. I think we'll get the Wii fit balance board for a family gift.

My son will be almost 9 at Christmas and so far he's asked for

DSi (he's taken very good care of his DS but it's old and not working properly so he'll definitely get this)

Cell phone (not happening)

Pokemon cards

Pokemon games for the DS and Wii

Itunes gift card

He's not into toys much anymore. He's into electronics, sports and cash :teeth:.

Other things he's asked for in the past are:

digital camera
ihome thing for his ipod Nano that has the radio and all in it
computer (maybe for his birthday)
football jerseys
sports t-shirts
private/small group baseball lessons

**For those of you with kids obsessed with sports (both playing and watching) do you have any unique sports related gift ideas?

You know, now that I think about it, Toys R Us has some Star Wars science kits....a bioncle arm, some kind of viewer thing...etc...You might want to check them out...something new in the Star Wars line!

Oh I will check those new Star Wars things at TrU. Thanks!
And a cell phone is the ONLY specific thing my son has asked for.
After I stopped laughing I told him "Yea, right!" ;)

My DS (turning 9 in a couple weeks) really wants a telescope. I don't know a whole lot about them, but I found some at Kohl's online and bought it using a 30% off code. I'm sure it is not the best out there, but it is very much a starter telescope and if he really gets into it, we will upgrade down the road.

Both DS and DSS (turning 8 in Nov) are really into Bakugan, Legos, Mario games (for Wii and DS), Pokemon, Yugio and they also asked for new sleeping bags (I guess their old spiderman ones are no longer "cool" I think Santa will be bringing them some good, old fashioned, sturdy LLBean ones, and they want fold up futon style chairs for their room... which is another great idea because they unfold to form a bed that comes in handy when friends sleepover so that is a potential too!

Oh... digital cameras were a big hit last year... they each have memory cards and a snapfish acct... loads of fun!

Hope that helps... happy shopping!

DS will be 9 by Xmas. He is asking for:

DSi
DS games - Kingdom Hearts 365, Mario & Luigi inside story
Wii games - My Sims Agent, Toy Story Mania, New Lego Indiana Jones comes out in November
Some new bakugan they showed on a commercial that makes into a figure

Also he loves anything star wars and lego. We got him a building set from the Kmart clearance - struxx robotrixx - that I think he will enjoy.

Also to the person looking for a bakugan case - dont get the one they sell specifically for them because they do not hold much. Go to Bass Pro Shops and get a fishing lure box. Much cheaper and you can get a nice one that is bigger that holds both the bakugans and their cards. DS fishing case holds all of his cards and he has 37 bakugans in his and still room for more. I think the case was $12.99 and the bakugan ones are $9.99 and dont hold near that much.

DS9.5 has asked for the following:

cell phone (no way no how):lmao:
ipod nano
ipod dock/radio
titans football jersey
transformers 2 dvd
new mario wii game
glitter ball from target-some ball w/ glitter in it :confused3
new lacrosse stick
connect 4x4 game

last year he got TONS of bakugon stuff and never touched it, he still plays w/ the pokemon cards though

Cell phones seem to be a theme with this age group :rotfl:

My son got Bakugan stuff for Christmas and played with it maybe once. It's in my pile to donate.

I know...who are they going to call??? He only goes to the houses on our street. He can use the house phone. I want to go back to the "old days" when we had to call our friends houses and talk to the parents first. We have 4 perfectly good cordless phones he can use. I told him he can get a cell phone in middle school because he will be riding the school bus and home alone for 30 minutes. But until then there was no need.

HI Bengal Belle! J asked for a cell phone too.. NO WAY!!

We are going to turn in our Nintendo DS and get the new DSI. No real reason, but I am running out of things to get him lol. He only plays with legos and his DS right now. I am also going to buy the family a really nice telescope. I think he will enjoy it.

He loves Club Penguin on the net and keeps asking for the toys, but I think he is really to old for them.

Wow... I am so surprised to hear about kids this age who don't play with their Bakugan toys... our boys play with them all the time and all their friends do too... In fact I just ordered a bunch of new stuff for them for their b-days/Christmas and they are having a Bakugan themed b-day party at the end of the month... Pokemon is big with them too, but right now Bakugan is the hot item in our house and with their group of friends.

Are you sure you guys aren't talking about my DS? You surely could be!

He also likes Star Wars, Legos, anything Wii or DS related (especially all of the Lego games and anything with Mario in it). He also likes the Dallas Cowboys and Ryan Newman so anything with those on it, he will wear. We just repainted the bedroom he shares with his younger brother (by choice, mind you and surely not going to last many more years before he starts to become a "pain" and not a "friend") with two walls Cowboys blue and two walls Redskins burgundy (yes, we have a very entertaining household during football season). So, we will probably get both boys something really cool to go in their bedroom to match the theme....maybe some things from fathead.com.

Neither of my boys (ages 9 and 6) have ever even mentioned Bakugan or Pokeman. They each got a little Bakugan toy in the meals from McDonald's tonight and my oldest one barely gave it a second glance. My younger one did play with it for a while and study the papers that came with it but never said he wanted more like it.

I thought of another thing. My kids and DH play Pirates online... I think I'll get them each 3 months of whatever the paid version is. I think it's $10 a month each. They love the free version... but LOVED the one month they each "won" a trial of the paid thing. pirate: (I love pirates online too. When they are all playing I get to take a hot bath!)
