8 months vs. 12 months?

Ugh. Sorry for the second thread today!

So, I'm a future Escape bride, and I keep reading that I can call disney and talk to them about my wedding when I'm a year away from my date. However, I've called and tweeted Disney (heh) and they've told me I can't start talking to them until I'm 8 months out! What gives? Did something change? If I can't start doing wedding stuff until May, I might go bonkers!

That's weird, I thought you could at least get pencilled in at 12 months, let alone just talk to somebody?

I'm planning an Escape renewal and was also told 8 months is the window for Escape weddings - it's a little nerve wracking!

They do try to put you off, ring back and say you've got some questions you'd like to ask and they should take your details and then someone will ring you back.

Yeah... the passporters book says that they will tentatively pencil you in at the 12 month mark? I just have this horrid vision of me calling at the 8 month mark and them telling me nothing is available for my date!

That seems rediculous to me that they won't help you, I would keep calling back until you get someone.

well you're even beyond the 12 months mark at this point so I would just say have a little patience. I called at 11 months and was able to get penciled in for my ceremony location as well as reception location.

Oh, I didn't realize you haven't hit the 12 month mark yet...that could be why they won't talk to you yet... Try and have some patience....I know it's rough, but time will fly with the holidays right around the corner!!

Oh, I know they won't talk to me YET!!! (haha). I just want them to talk to me in 12 months is all. I'm just afraid they won't! But I will be bugging them on January 6, just you wait...

I am doing an escape wedding and you can't book anything until your 8 month mark. They were able to tell me if someone else had booked that date/location.

I know it is frustrating not being able to book and I actually called one day earlier.
