Day #7 was spent at Universal Studios (just DH & myself). MIL stayed at the resort with the kids and they had some fun in the pool. One of my MUST-DO's was Butterbeer. I had tried to make my own at home and it turned out AMAZING... I opted for the frozen Butterbeer at Universal and was not all that impressed. It was very watered down tasting... but still refreshing.

We finished with Islands of Adventure by about 11:30 am so we headed over to Universal Studios. We went on a ride and then decided it was time to eat. We found a place right before the Kwik E Mart...

There were a few different choices... American, Asian, Mexican... I went with a classic cheeseburger, fries & coleslaw. I figured they can't screw that up. It was soooo blah! No flavor whatsoever and the coleslaw was the worst I have ever had. Thank goodness they gave me two cups full. Yuck! DH ate most of my fries (which were the best part)

Anyone want to take a WILD guess at what DH ordered?

He hated it. It was pretty awful. I tried a bite and it tasted like cardboard. Just no flavor whatsoever in this stuff. Nonetheless it did the job and filled our bellies... sort of.

I LOVE this thread!! You're reviews are wonderful and hilarious, believe me I understand the MIL lol! We are planning our trip (and wedding ceremony ) for next May and I just told DF that we wil need to plan the rest of our trip around our meals! Thanks for all of these reviews, I have definitely added on to our plans!

After we were done at Universal, we headed back to the resort to pick everyone up. MIL & myself had a date at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club that night. I didn't want to take any kids along because I knew I would be wasting my whole night cracking crab legs for THEM and no, I would not do that. This was strictly going to be a feed my face as much as possible night.

For the first time on this vacation we took advantage of the free valet parking offered with the Tables in Wonderland card. Of course, someone was NOT happy that we had to get out of the vehicle (DD wanted to unbuckle herself and MIL did it for her... oh the horror). So MIL and me ran off on DH while he had to console the little diva. He later bribed them with ice cream from Beachs & Cream... and he ACTUALLY took a food pic! His first food picture, I am so proud.

You can see DS still had makeup on his eyes from the pirate the day before... that stuff is hard to get off!

Back to the awesomeness that is Cape May. We had a great waiter... forgot his name but he was VERY friendly & hilarious. MIL ordered a haberno margarita, big surprise there and I tried to order one as well till they asked me for my ID which I had FORGOT on the dresser at the resort. !!! So no happy juice for me... MIL drank enough for both of us. I had milk. I love milk.

This was my first time here and it has climbed the ladder to Boma's level. I will return for sure on my next trip and the trip after that and the one after that. Yum!!!

Here we are... the last day We headed to the Grand Floridian for our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We checked in as soon as they opened and only had to wait about 5 minutes or so to get our pics taken. We were led to a huge round table in the second room. The table was super unsteady. It wobbled more than a weeble! DH brought it to one of the worker's attention and she spun the top of the table a bit which helped stop the wiggle a little.

This was a repeat for us. We ate here on our first trip (the last day of that one as well) and just loved the offerings of the buffet. Strawberry soup, lobster benedict & the pecan rolls were on the top of my list.

Everything was excellent again. Great service. The characters were fantastic! They spent lots of time with us and the kids loved it.

DH was wearing a visor and Alice commented to him that he better have the Mad Hatter fix his hat because there was a giant hole in it and his head could easily fall out. lol...

The Mad Hatter was GREAT! He asked Lucy if her head was loose and Dominic if there were a line of Dominic's and he pushed one over, would they all fall over like Dominic's? He also wondered why we were all dressed up as butter today... DS was just stumped... lol.

I just love this buffet and the characters are fantastic. I could do without Pooh & Tigger (the no talking ones just don't phase me) but the others are great. I'd love to try their dinner with the stepmother and stepsisters... that sounds like lots of fun. Maybe next time!

We were going to fend for ourselves for lunch in the World Showcase. I had planned to get something from Mexico along with a margarita. When we got to Mexico, DS saw the Three Caballeros and we had to ride it. We got done with the ride and before I knew it, we were in Norway. Nooo... I wanted my Mexican food. How did I miss it? So I had to break the news to DH that I had to go back. This did not sit well with him and it began the battle of Epcot. ???

I walked back by myself, got nachos & a margarita and then sat down on a bench where I stuffed my face as fast as I could.

Yum, both were GREAT and I really needed that margarita if I had to deal with DH for the rest of the day.

I won't get into details since it had nothing to do with food but eventually we made our way around the world. I picked up another beverage... the Grand Marnier.

This one cooled me down but just did nothing for me booze wise.

MIL bought the kids a popcorn bucket in Canada and we made our way out of the park.

Originally I had the Hoop De Doo booked for the second night we were there but the 9:30 show was canceled so I rescheduled for our last night and canceled my Flying Fish reservation. I think I made the right choice. I have a feeling DH would've HATED Flying Fish and Hoop De Doo was a blast!

We arrived at the Wilderness fairly early. We got our tickets at the front desk and then took a boat across to Pioneer Hall. We had a ton of time to waste so the kids played on the playground for awhile and the beach and we did a little more shopping.

Finally we headed back over to Pioneer Hall and they were taking pictures so we got ours taken and went to wait for the bell to be rung. We were seated near the very front. I can't believe they had the show considering only half of the floor was seated... every other table was empty.

Our waitress took our drink orders and DH piped up about his pickiness. She had the chef come out and talk to him. He said he would bring him out grilled cheese sandwiches & mac and cheese. Yay. DH was happy. MIL ordered sangria... I opted for milk.

They started the show and asked where everyone was from. They chose our table to do a little bit about Wisconsin and then we found out that the table next to us was from a town that's not even 30 minutes away from us and the table behind us was also from Wisconsin. Small world!

This was the 9:30 show mind you and we had to be awake the next morning at 3am to get to the airport. Yikes!

The food was excellent. All you can eat and super tasty. The show was even better. We loved it. Everyone did and I was so happy that we were able to fit it in.

DS got picked to go up onstage. That made our night!

There was a guy that got picked to go up onstage with Dominic and we rode back on the bus with him. He just kept going on and on about how Dominic was the star of the show. It made him feel really good.

I will return to this for sure! The service was excellent as well. Our waitress brought out tableclothes for the kids because it was so cold in there near the end of the show.

It was a bit pricey but with the TIW card, we got a little over $50 refund which made it more tolerable and very well worth it!

great reviews! i started reading yours awhile ago and just came to it again. I don't know if it's a problem on my end but your last few days of links were all to 1900 park fare? starting with Ohana.. the last hoop de doo was right from Ohana- park fare they are all the same.

Our family ADORES HDDR and we try to fit it in every time. We skipped it one trip and ended up regretting that, so for now it is our ONLY must-do every trip. Yes, we agree it's pricey, but so worth it! It's a little different every time. We have been to the 9:30 the past few times and have detected a slightly more "adult" humor that might go over the heads of little ones. I'm so happy you loved it too!!!

It's special your DS was selected. In all of our trips, we have never had a family member selected to be part of the show. But we have been involved in the audience interaction part. So fun!

I will be looking for your regular trip report, but I think it is great that your MIL was game to wear your awesome shirts! Your family really looked cute!! I also think it was nice that you and she were able to have some adult girls nights out a couple of times. Atleast from your food report you seem to get along pretty well and you both like the same foods.

Thanks for sharing that info! We really did like it a lot... I think because it was such a small crowd, we had a better chance of being chosen for their antics.

We took an afternoon break on our AK day so DH could get his pizza fix in at Pizzafari. There was no line when we entered but when we left the que was FULL! Perfect timing. I was also really excited because this is one of the few (if only - not sure on that one) counter service places that will accept Tables in Wonderland. DH ordered himself a cheese pizza which came with the salad that I agreed to gobble up.

Pizzafari is just one of those "eh, okay" places in WDW... the only reason we really went here was because of DH. If it were up to me, I would skip it... Flame Tree always smells so good to me but I've never been

I came late to the party, but have enjoyed reading (and seeing!) every page! I just wanted to encourage you to try Flame Tree next time. It is our favorite cs place in AK by far!

Sounds like you had quite the food fest and you have encouraged me to try a couple of different places. We just go once a year and we tend to go back to our favorite places. We love Boma as well as 50s Prime Time and LTT. Next time you're in Columbia HH, do try the shrimp. They are really good! The breading is very light and flavorful. You won't be disappointed.

I know that this review is a few months old now, but I wanted to say thank you for all of your pics and descriptions! It was very helpful as there are a few places we are considering for our upcoming trips.

Also, I'm going in April with my brother who is the pickiest eater on the planet - so it was great to read about your DH's experiences! It sounds like they have the same sort of food preferences - my brother will only eat pizza, mozzarella sticks, pancakes, and french fries.
