8 am CP?

In your opinions, is an 8 am reservation inside a park a good idea? How long does a character meal take? Do you feel rushed to make it to rope drop? What happens if you finish a meal at a restaurant inside of a park before rope drop?

I'm assuming park opening is at 9? If you are fine with being in somewhat of a hurry, it should be ok. We had an 8am ADR on a 9am park opening and I think finished up around 8:45. However, we were the first table the characters visited so I don't know if that matters at all. While MK usually opens 15 minutes or so before the official opening time, there are additional ropes at the entrance to each land that don't get taken down until 9. So unless your really hurry through breakfast, you likely will not be first at the rope for whatever land you want to go to. You might actually be quite a ways back. However, you will still be in better shape than someone arriving after park opening.

Buses start running around 6:30-6:45.

You won't have a problem with the buses and we have regularly had a reservation at CP between 8am and 8.25am and never had an issue being out for rope drop. That said we usually ask our server if we can settle our bill not long after arrival so that we eat, enjoy, meet the characters and go. if you get waiting for your bill at about the time they do the parade around the restaurant you are doomed to a 15 minute wait so be prepared to ask early and enjoy!
