8 AM ADR at TH now AK opens at 8 Dec 28th

I made an ADR for Tusker house on Dec. 28th at 8AM. Now they just announced that Animal Kingdom will open at 8 AM instead of 9 AM that week. What do I do? We can't waste the first hour of park opening at a restaurant, but this was the only character meal we were planning for our trip.

You could just have one person in your group run and get everyone fast passes for Killamanarjo Safari right after you get seated. The ride entrance is very close to Tusker House. Then you can probably get right on the ride after you are done eating and really not "waste" too much time. You also won't have to wait in line later to meet the characters if you meet them in the restaurant.

Why can't you still go?

If you want to have a character dining then go. It isn't that bad, with it being a buffet you are in and out pretty quick. It may be an hour, it may not be. The characters will be circulating quick at that time.

If it were me and I wanted to have this meal I would do so and not worry. You will still have plenty of time to do all the other things.

I would just go a little on the early side... 30 minutes... or so. I would bet that you would at least get in before 8 am which would mean you still get to enjoy breakfast with the characters but get out earlier to start enjoying the park! And I would also get some fast passes for the Safari at your first convenience if one of you can pop out to get them.
