Tried for an 8am Garden Grill ressie to get ahead of pack at Soarin. Best avail right now is 8:30. My thought is this is too late to get on Soarin early but i have never done this before so I am not sure. Any advice from those that have would be appreciated. Thanks.

Show up very early for the breakfast (be at the gates no later than 7:30), and you'll likely be seated closer to 8 than 8:30, and that will help your chances. For PPO breakfasts, they're more concerned about just getting everyone seated and eating than worrying about exact reservation times. Early bird gets the worm on this one.

One other tip: request your check from the waiter immediately upon ordering, rather than at the end of the meal, so you'll be paid up early and can leave as soon as you're finished eating.

Thanks for the info and tips Shanti. Soulds like a good plan.

One other thing i just thought of. We are staying at Beach Club so we will be entering via the IG. I am guessing you can still get in early using that gate but figured I would ask her to be sure.

Yes, you can. IG is further from Garden Grill than the front gates, though, so you might end up behind the people who entered at the front gate.

I think you may be cutting it close. We had an 8:15 ADR last week and got seated right after 8:00, but we didn't rush through our meal. As we were walking out of the restaurant the masses were entering the building. They were definitely let in earlier than 9:00. We were able to go down a different staircase than everyone else so we still got pretty close to the front of the line but still had about a 10-15 minute wait.

Pluto is at GG.

We also entered though IG. We got there around 7:40 and they started letting us in at 7:53.

Did you get to the restaurant at the same time as the front gate PPO breakfast people, or after them?

And yes, I should have mentioned to the OP that they let the rope drop crowd in at 8:45, not 9am.

We arrived after them.

We're staying at the Yacht Club in a few weeks. Would it be worthwhile to taxi to the front entrance to avoid that, or did you find it to be no problem getting seated quickly?

We have an 8am Garden Grill ADR and really want to avoid a long Soarin' wait.

I think you'll be fine entering through IG. Even though there were others already at GG when we arrived, we were still seated a few minutes before our 8:15 ADR. I'd plan on arriving at the IG by 7:30; that should put you at the front of the line. We got there a little later and there were about 5 or 6 families already in line in front of us that we had to wait for to get through bag check since only one line was open.

We had an 8:25am adr, I just saw an 8:10am which I tried to grab but then during the reservation process I got the Sorry for the Paws picture. :( Then 8:20am popped in which I took, I guess that person just got the 8:10am. I will keep checking, I would feel better with 8:15am or earlier.

The characters are Mickey, Chip, Dale and Pluto.
As PP's have said if you arrive at the gates either the International gateway or the front gates by 7:30 is the best bet.
They have a dedicated line for pre park opening dining reservations.
The restaurant is empty, and they seat everyone very quickly.

Not sure if they still do this, but when we ate at GG breakfast last year, they opened Soarin early for the
pre park opening diners at Garden grill.

What time do they allow people to start forming a line for Soarin, if you are done eating before the park opens? I have a pre-opening ADR, but don't plan on riding. My nephew will though, but he eats a lot faster than I do, lol. So if he is done by 8:30 can he walk down and get in line?

We had an 8am ADR yesterday for GG. We were at the front gate at 7:30. They let us around 7:45. We were the first family to arrive at the restaurant. We were seated immediately and got to meet all of the characters at once! We didn't eat fast but we're done by 8:35 and our server recommended heading out to the line by 8:45 to beat the rush. We walked down at 8:40 and there was one family ahead of us. They immediately let us in and we got on Soarin' at 8:50. My family, another family, and two CM's got to ride all by ourselves! It was amazing!! Even better, when finished they said we could ride again. So we were able to ride it twice and were out by 9:05. We could've easily done a third time but the kids wanted to move on. It was a amazing morning and didn't feel rushed at all.

Thanks for the info. Cant wait

Thanks for this post!!! We currently have a 8:35 PPO GG res and I've been looking for earlier times. I had originally planned for a 10:15 res to be able to do some stuff at RD first and then head to breakfast (snacking around the world at F&W the rest of the day) but I realized we would probably run into issues with doing Soarin' first and then Joy and Sadness and Baymax and getting to a 10:15 on time. We will plan on being at the park by 7:30 to be at the front of the pack
