8/3/08 Disney Wonder 4-day: Check in here!

We're in!!!!! So far just me(29) and DD6 (who will be turning 7 on board!) Trying to get gramma along too, need a pineapple margarita buddy!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Nice coincidence! My DS will be turning 7 on board as well. On the 6th. Do the waitstaff sing to the birthday kid? Or should I count on arranging something else?

Hello everyone - there will be 4 of us. Myself, DH, DD, and DS (both young adults). We have done several Disney cruises, but never a double dip. Anyone have any information on which days Palo brunch will be offered? We all enjoy the brunch more than the dinner at Palo - plus we hate to miss the dining room.

The Palo brunch is on the last full day (Wednesday?); 10 am!!!! :woohoo:

Hey Everyone!!!

I've been watching this thread for awhile now, but can't sign in from work to reply so I've finally gotten motivated too reply from home... :) We'll have quite a group joining everyone.

My wife & I
Son (6)
Daughter (4)
& our little guy (2 on Aug 22)

Mother & Father-In-Law

My wife's sister & her family (husband, son(12), & toddler (~1.5).

We should have a good time. We'll all be on Deck 2. For my wife and I it will be our first time on the Wonder. We were on the Magic for our honeymoon 9 years ago!! We were all going to take this cruise 2 years ago, but our departure date was scheduled for 2 days after the birth of our 3rd, which nix'd that idea!! Now with the cruise due date growing closer, we just found out we are expecting our 4th in November!!! We might not be able to schedule these cruises anymore as they lead to little ones!! ;)

My family, we'll be at OKW for 3 days before shipping out to the port. We arrive at The World on Thursday prior. Then afterwards we're ALL headed to OKW for another 3.5 days flying home on Sunday...

We can't wait!! The wife, kids, and I were just down for New Years Eve, but the kids can't wait to get on the "Big Boat" as they call it!! Anyway, I've been a lurker for awhile, I didn't think we were ever going to get a thread going, but again didn't want to be the first and find out we were cruising alone!! :) So I'm glad we've finally got a thread going and we can all chat about what everyone's got planned...

My only stink against this cruise as I really wanted a full day at sea on the boat, but this was the only 4-day'er during our window. So were going to use our day at Nassau as our day on the ship as we saw Nassau on our Honeymoon... Been there done that... ;) Other than that we can't wait to be back on the ship...

TTYL,
Mark

Hi Mark!!! Congrats on #4 :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Make sure you let DCL know about your wife's due date as they have a cut off on when they will allow her to sail (not sure when/what week or trimester it is).

Thanks for the congratulations!! :) And for the info that we almost missed the boat!! DCL won't let you sail after 24 weeks, and our rough calculations puts her in the 22nd/23rd weeks!! We go to the doctor in May for official confirmation!! Has anyone booked any excurions yet?? I'm really wanting to try parasailing with my oldest Eric, but not sure if he'd be scared or not...

Is Palo brunch ONLY available on the second CC day? My DH birthday is 8/4 (the first CC day) and we were really hoping to surprise him with brunch on that day. The entire cruise is going to be his Father's Day gift - hoping to get one more surprise/gift out of it!

HI!!
Thanks for the very nice compliment this morning...
I can also confirm that brunch is ONLY being offered on the 2nd CC day...we have a big DIS group booked in the Palo Room for our trip!

I just noticed you all will be cruising on our 1st anniversary 8-03!!

(ps..do you have any of you VR pics online that I could look at again?)

Wow, I stop checking the thread I started :rolleyes1 and suddenly I have a few more people joining us on our honeymoon. And Mark, you & your family will be around for my entire honeymoon - we're starting our trip w/ 3 days at OKW as well!

We're hoping to do the Palo brunch, but I'm afraid we won't be able to book it since we're first-time cruisers and can't book anything until... Thursday I believe.

:mickeyjum My husband, myself and two boys ages 9 and 7 (all first timers)will be joining you all! We'll be at the animal Kingdom Lodge before the sailing.....really looking forward to WARM weather. It's been cold here in Wisconsin! Can't wait!

We're at about 70 days til departure! I hope everyone was able to book the excursions and spa treatments and Palo meals they wanted. In case anyone is curious - if you're looking to do a Palo dinner for two, there are still spots available!

My dw and I will be aboard. Also bringing youngest son, his wife and two sons 7 and 11. This is a first for them, and the sixth for dw and I.
Looking forward to the trip and the Castaway Cay double dip. Staying at OKW for the week before and BWV for 2 days after.

This will be our first DCL cruise (we've cruised before on other lines). We are me, DW, and DS(10). This is a surprise for him! DW and I have booked the Couples massage for the first night (gonna need it after flying out from Southern California). We also booked Palo's for the second night. We think DS is going to love the Kids Club, but we plan to have some family time together too, especially on CC. Can't wait; we're counting the days!

Only 40 days out now!!! George, we have a lot in common. We're in Delaware, and my kids are 7 and 11 like your grandkids. We'll be staying at the Nick Hotel before the cruise and OKW after. Can't wait!!

Have any of you gotten your cruise documents & luggage tags from DCL yet? We haven't gotten ours, and I'm afraid they might have gotten caught up in mail forwarding, as we just moved... but I don't want to call DCL unless I know others have already gotten their documents.

Haven't gotten them yet. Can't wait - hoping DS and DD got an upgrade. They are 19 and 23 and love Disney, just wanted their own room. While used to a Cat 6, they settled on a Cat 10. They say that they don't care, they're just happy to be going. I just want an extra surprise for them. It's our 7th Disney cruise and have never been upgraded. Don't really care - I'd sleep on the deck 4 chairs if I could!
