8/17/2008 Double Dip 4-day Wonder

I was the one who shipped to the pepsi to our stateroom. Its very, very easy. I'll post the instructions when we get closer to our cruise.

I am DETERMINED on this cruise to make ONE of the adult night time activities. We have yet to do one. Mostly because we exhausted ourselves during the day and also didn't want to put the kids into the clubs late at night and then have to retrieve them. And we did have one early morning shore excursion.

It was extremely embarrassing on our last cruise when the cruise director asked DH & I to one of the adult late night activities and I had to say no (we knew Andy from previous cruises).

In retrospect, I cannot believe how stupid DH & I were not to go. Sheesh - we can't handle one late night????? And Andy is our favorite CM.

Ski and Sea - oh thank you thank you - I would love to ship some drinks ahead!!!

And I am right there with you on the night time activities - we are complete losers and never made the adult night time activities either!! I swear this time I will!!!

WOW! Here's our thread right on the first page. Welcome to all our new friends!!

My dh and I have sailed RCCI without kids 3 times. We are so pathetic. ... After dinner and our show, we might spend an hour or so either in the casino or listening to some music in a club, but then we find ourselves falling asleep in our drink and we head off to bed. Sometimes before 10pm!:scared1: In fact, our last cruise was a night time sail. There was a parade as the sail-away celebration. My hubby and I were in bed, asleep, before the ship even pulled away from the dock. We didn't see too much of the nightlife on the Wonder, either; but we blamed that on the kids.

Hey, just a few posts ago we were talking about snow. Now it's 70 degrees here in PA and the kids spent the afternoon outside. I'm ready for spring!:goodvibes

YEA!!! I have 500 posts and I'm a Dis Veteran now:woohoo:

Awesome!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Man, this changing of the clocks three weeks early really stinks because this is the week the schools take the NJ standardized tests!

DH has been home for the past 10 days with bronchitis and now DS is fighting something as well. Both are on the mend.

Had a funny experience yesterday when my internet service got shut down because I was identified as a spammer. I run several fundraisers for my kids' school and the Girl Scouts and had to send an email to all the families at the my kids' school. Plus, a local family suffered a devastating house fire so I was asked to send an email to the Girl Scout troops alerting people to the situation and asking for donations for the family.

So in one afternoon I sent out over 700 emails which triggered a shut down in my internet service. I called and got it straightened out and was told to split up the email lists so it doesn't happened again.

I downloaded a song where the lyrics say, "every day is Saturday night but I can't wait till Sunday morning". It makes me think of this cruise because we'll all be heading to Port Canaveral on a Sunday morning.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one determined to make some of the nighttime adult entertainment on the ship.

Snow here in central PA. I think we've got about 7-8 inches so far with more coming in the next few hours. I'm soooo glad I don't have to go in to work tonight (I'm a nurse.) I already told my dh NOT to answer the phone.:lmao: The kids came home early and cut my sleep short, so it's early to bed tonight!

Who's got a snow day today? We do.

No snow here, but we have been having very foggy mornings. It doesn't help the drive to work in the morning at all, especially now that it is dark again with the time change. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Melissa

Gotta get shoveling. Who wants to help me? Not much else exciting is happening here today. I have a paper due for school on Tuesday that I haven't even started yet, so I guess you'll find me with my laptop attached to my person this weekend.:lmao:

WE'RE SNOWBOUND!!!!!

DD had a school function this morning and we can't get out of our driveway. We didn't get snow yesterday - it came down as all sleet and now its a solid mass on the ground. You can actually walk on top it.

Our road hasn't been plowed yet. I'm hearing that people's snowblowers are having problems since its ice crystals and not snowflakes.

Friends of ours are hosting a big St. Patrick's Day party tonight - I hope the snow can be cleared by tonight.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE....

Hope my snow (or ice) bound fellow cruisers are all safe and sound. We had a total of 11 inches here with a good portion of that already melted. Spent my weekend working on a paper for school and studying for mid-terms! :scared1: - not too exciting!! I did take a break and watched the movie Flight Plan. It was pretty good. Gotta shuffle kids to scouts and music practices tonight! Have a good week everyone!

Well, our front walkway still hasn't been shoveled and now that it is ice-covered I'm sure it won't ever be. Guess we'll just wait for it all to melt. I wonder what FedEx will do with my package that is supposed to be delivered on Wednesday? :confused3 I went out on Saturday to Walmart and my driveway is very steep and my dh only shoveled his side so I couldn't get my car all the way back up. I had to leave it parked toward the bottom of the driveway. Fortunately nobody has fallen in it, but it is difficult to walk down a slippery steep driveway with an 18 month old in your arms.

Well, gotta get the kiddos up and get moving this morning. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Where is everyone???? Happy First Day of Spring!!!!! Is anyone else going to get a free Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee today or a Rita's Italian Water Ice? My dd can't wait to go and get a free Rita's today. She's been thinking about it for almost 2 weeks now. Yum!!!! Whatever you do today, enjoy it!!!!!

Even though it doesn't feel like the first day of spring, we're going to Rita's for our FREE ice. The kids have been talking about it too!:cool1:

We don't have a Rita's close by so no free ice for us...:sad2:

By Saturday mid-afternoon we finally got un-snowbound. We had to use our backhoe to get out!!!!! We have a gravel driveway that is an odd shape so it can't be plowed. Usually the snowblower works just fine. But not this time so DH got out his front-loader backhoe.

And the backhoe really struggled pushing the snow. Plus half the driveway got taken up in the process and I'll be picking gravel out of the lawn all this summer. Not to mention that DH tore up part of the lawn since he couldn't tell where the driveway ended and the grass starts.

So we made it to our St. Patrick's Day party. Oh, I did just learned my DB had his flight to Cancun canceled on Saturday so no vacation for him and his wife this week. They were supposed to stay at an adult-only resort near Playa del Carmen. Really nice. Couldn't get a refund but the resort let him reschedule.

I saw lots of people leaving their cars at the end of their driveways this weekend.

Ah spring.....in a couple of weeks our schedules will go crazy with little league and softball.

I had to laugh when the DIS boards went down yesterday since we're having all kinds of computer problems here. Had to take one of our PCs to the shop to get the hard disk reformatted. Better to start from scratch rather than try to figure out the problem.

What are you studying?

Melissa

I'm working towards my Masters in Nursing, along with my Nurse Practioner's license. This is only semester #2 of 9, so I have a long way to go!! Some weeks I'm really into it, and other times I think "What the heck am I doing???!!!":scared1:

The snow is almost gone here. Just some piles at the ends of the yards. Never made it to Rita's yesterday. I had to run kids here and there and ran out of time!:sad1: I promised the kids we'd get one this weekend.

The temperature should reach 60 around here, but rain is coming, too.

Enjoy the day!!
