I see denial ain'tjust a river in Egypt!

I thought about that the other day. Many of us have trips planned before the repo. How to keep up??? I think we need a Cliff's Notes version of this thread.

DeNILE...

So,

Do we in fact have a ... volunteer who will step forward to generate ocassional Cliff notes on the thread? Maybe we can have "chapters" in electronic book form - and set up paypal rates on a per page basis? Hmm... the author is gonna need a publicist and agent. I appoint MYSELF as agent... I'll do it cheap... all I need is say... 50... percent and we'll call it even! <chuckles> as I know... I am taking a huge "CUT" compared to my usual rate of compensation... which may actually be ... true.:lmao:

OK... I will accept virtual Dublooms in lieu of paypal. Is THAT better now? <chuckles>

I Nominate CaptCrash since he like to be very detailed ...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I would say maybe after every 25 pages or so you can write a BRIEF roundup of useful information ..:lmao: :lmao:

I'm a bit concerned that CaptCrash's summary might be longer than the thread!!

ETA: does anyone know the time of the press conference??

Someone told me that the "announcement" that will be made has to do with DVC and the Grand Californian Hotel. Not nearly as exciting as a new ship!!

Now....

Yoooooouuuuu don't want ME to be the author of anything like that. Although I have tendencies that run off the deep end for (ahem) poetic volume ... I believe that I would be #a) an inconsistent author as I am not always gonna be around - as I sometimes travel (work and pleasure), and, and, and (let me think... quick, I need more excuses... darn!)... and it's wednesday and I gotta take my daughter to the dentist to fill acavity soon (true). b#) I actually think the top 5 or 10 posters here should shoulder a rotating responsibility on this as they are in fact the ones who will be here all the time - by definition. AND maybe a once a week or ONCE every interval - be it a certain number of postings or days - who knows - where some kind of summary will occur.

On the 11 nite southern we had a beautiful monhtly E-gazette published ... and it summarized news, activities and had contributor articles of interest. Not a gossip column... that was what the thread was for. And it was simply a beautiful monthly reference. I would not mind doing that if no one else wants to do it. I just have to figure out how to do it in a secured manner. Let me reference a tech pal to help me set it up!

Gotta run now! The dentist needs some of my $$$.:lmao: for his/her next cruise!

pirate: Well here goes, I made my goal of 12,000 posts on my DISanniversary today, and since this is a "special" occasion, I only have one thing to say pirate:

Take What You Can!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: popcorn:: popcorn::
Would have loved to have watched that one. Were thay out on the field going "No wrong one"?

They wouldn't have told me "wrong one"....they would have just watched me make a fool of myself. Given enough time in any particular situation, THAT is bound to happen!

GIVE NOTHING BACK!!

Happy DISVERSARY Andy!!

My 5 year anniversary comes up in April. I originally registered the name PinClubs; my family was heavly into pin trading and I had a website called PinClubs that promoted local pin trading clubs accross the country. Unfortunately, I had a "run in" with a since banished poster; things got ugly so I decided to take a break from the DISBoards.

About 6 months later I registered a new name "Buddy Bear" and the rest as they say is history. Funny thing is the person who was banished I come to find hangs out at a different forum with other formerly banished DISers. Go figure.

This is where I am getting information on 3rd ship.

Vacation Club / Grand Californian Expansion
Meanwhile, back in Anaheim, there are additional projects about to get underway that don't involve clown fish or pirates. In a press event scheduled for January 24th, Disneyland will finally announce several things regular readers already know about, and a few things you don't know yet. The Toy Story Midway Mania attraction opening in Paradise Pier in June, 2008 will finally be fessed up to at this event, as well as the Pirates Lair at Tom Sawyer Island project.
Also to be announced this month is the first of a series of Disney Vacation Club properties slated for Anaheim. The DVC units are planned to be part of an extension of the Grand Californian's west wing over what is now the wedding garden and a valet parking lot. This new addition will add almost 300 new rooms and suites to the hotel, as well as 50 DVC units for members to use. That's a modest beginning, to be sure, but you don't think Disney installed a DVC cart every 50 yards in Anaheim for just 50 units do you? Of course they didn't, but they are going to start slow and build from there. Just the fact that they are finally building dedicated DVC units in Anaheim is enough, and there will be more to follow as the DCA expansion project takes hold later this decade. The look of the new wing of the Grand Californian should blend fairly seamlessly into the original hotel, although there will be plenty of construction noise and inconvenience for hotel guests for the next few years.
The other big announcement to be made is that the Disney Cruise Line will be returning to the West Coast for the summer of 2008. A third ship in the Disney fleet has been contracted out of an Italian shipyard, but it won't be here in '08. They'll borrow one of the existing boats from Florida for that summer while they wait for the new boat that is purpose built for West Coast waters to arrive at the end of the decade. TDA would like to run cruises to the Mexican Riviera in winter, and up to British Columbia and Alaska in summer. But those types of itineraries require a different type of ship with different types of weather protection and amenities than the fair weather Disney Magic and Wonder are equipped with.

That's what I've heard too. Supposedly at 11am. I haven't heard from my usual contact that attends these things, so I'm not really sure.

Gotta share a funny story that happend last night...

We finally decided to join DVC (it has been on our list for sometime) and the WELCOME package showed up last night. After looking through it I had a question so I thought I would call DVC. Missy had the brochures and stuff so I asked for the number and she said, "UH...it is 1-800-800-8900 or something like that". I called the number and was taken back by what I heard; it clearly wasn't anyone from Disney. For a laugh call the number and let me know what you think.

:cheer2: Happy DISversary Andy!! :cheer2:

I'm just getting to know you with these 2 Repo threads. But it's been a pleasure.

Looks like the DIS has an awful lot of "good guessers". One of these days, Disney will actually surprise us with something! ;)

Sure am glad I already have my request in with IC for Alaska! :woohoo:
