ETA: photo credit: NOT me!

That is sooooo beautiful ! Would love to visit but don't think I coud handle the winter Brrrrrr. Someday Disney will sail to Alaska. DCL just needs to keep hearing it from us Diser's:surfweb:

So Todd--are you just planning on tantalizing us with "the list" ?
You tell us-----are we on it? Do you want us to be on it?

I redceived a DCL mailing today about the Magic going to the West Coast in 2008, did anyone else receive one in the mail? :upsidedow

It only talks about the west coast cruises, doesn't mention anything about the PC repo sailings.

Yep, got one too!:goodvibes

My family is watching Heroes which gives me an excuse to be here! ;)

Crash I hope you don't have to evacuate! Good luck!!!

If there is a list....I can guarantee I'm NOT on it. But that's sometimes a good thing!

Have a good night everyone!
Diane

Okay so how about this---we have such a large group of DISers. We have already mentioned how large the CC party will be. Maybe we need to make an ALASKA 2009 banner. We know someone from DCL corporate will be on the cruise. What do you think?:lmao: :lmao:

Andy: Thanks for the welcome & so sorry to hear about Hazel's cousin. Send her my best!

Tina: Hi!!! Hope we're neighbors again! I'm going to try for the same stateroom! ;)

Wow it is so cool to see all that wildlife you get in Arizon & Alaska. The most we see around here is the occasional rabbit or squirrel. All the times we've been to NH or ME, I've never even seen a moose! :confused3

Hi Diane: It would always be nice to see a friendly face.:goodvibes I am going to try and get same deck and near the same cabin. I am so glad this repo comes back on the 1st. Kids don't start School till the 4th.:woohoo:

It looked like the biggest beetle that I'd ever laid eyes on. When my dad went to the front desk to tell them, they just said "oh, well, now...that's just a little old pig bug....." <insert southern accent there>

Well....

... it seems we have a big fire raging about 150 yards from my home in the hills here in Westlake Village/ THousand Oaks. We get something called Santa Ana Wind conditions where we get very high velocity dry winds - and tonight we have relatively high winds. So.... at the moment they have not evacuated us - and we are watching the flames from the aerial news copters (in HD). My older daughter is a little worried but we're ready to evacuate if necessary.... but she knows we are safe and ready to leave if necessary. I can see the flames from an angle through the trees about a block away. We have 8 MPH winds with 20 MPH gusts according to the news people ... and NORTH is not threatening to us - however we can see on news copter footage sparking and spreading of the fire... I imagine that is what the firemen on the ground are fighting - and we can see the fire trucks stationed at the edge of the homes in a line facing the fire. They are saying the fire copters are off refueling now.

Our Samoyed had a good hoot howling with the fire engines as they ran by in a parade today.

Sending PD your way :wizard: :wizard: Stay safe, I know they can change very fast.

As long as my DH doesn't see it.:rotfl2: Remember couple pages back I promised DH ( fingers behind back ) this would be last cruise before we moved. :rolleyes1

Hazel and two of her sisters went to visit their cousin in the hospital yesterday in North Jersey, by the time they arrived home last evening their cousin had taken a turn for the worse. Hazel just received a call letting her know her cousin just passed away. :sad1:

Hazel was very close with this cousin, she is so glad she went up to see her one last time.

Signing off for the night. See everyone tomorrow morning.

:grouphug: You and your family are in my thoughts through this tough time.

Hey, I just thought someone should tell mom before someone lost an eye.

Well, we can always put a patch over the lost eye!

Arghhhhhh!

(Hey Kim, we have to quit posting over here - they don't need our help!)

Well...

... the news is that they now have 2 fire helicopters working the fire and 200 fire fighters on the fire. I believe we are secure and safe. Of course, there will be a fine layer of ashe outside now for the next week or so...

Internet news says it has burned 10 acres now... tiny by most standards.

http://www.kesq.com/Global/story.asp?S=5974317&nav=9qrx

If anything more eventful flares up I'll share the excitement - that is - if my cable connection does not get burned out!

And thanks windermerejudy for your concern... a 13 days ago a fire burned from Calabasas (not too far from my home... 13 miles) to Malibu and destroyed 4 homes. One of which was Suzanne Somers' home. Victoria Principal (a nearby neighbor) was reported as personally spraying her home with water... instead of having a personal assistant or publicist do it for her <muted chuckles>. http://kutv.com/topstories/topstories_story_009133950.html

star_wars_e3.jpg

Oh well... the sky is still glowing orange and I can hear the helicopters coming again... but I have have my daughter distracted with Star Wars Episode 3. Anakin has just told Palatine that ".... his fate shall be the same as ours'...." in reference to not leaving Obi Wan as they try to escape from the Generals' ship.... And the TV news is off now. So... we're sort of winding down now ... I hope.:confused3

And it's kind of ironic... General Grevious is abandoning ship and Anakin/Obi Wan are about to crash land the burning cruiser as they rescue Palatine! Funny with the fire raging outside?

Sending PD your way :wizard: :wizard: Stay safe, I know they can change very fast.

And thanks Castoff for your thoughts... we hope the winds don't gust any spreading of the fire our ways. Anakin just said... "... we're coming in too hot!..." and the cruiser is now grinding to a crash landing. Obi Wan just said... "... another happy landing..." as our real life fire-fighting helicoptors rage back and forth overhead running from our local Westlake Village or Lake Sherwood lake to pick up water for fire-fighting.

Okay speaking of which---
On myth busters pirate edition (Todd you will love this) they did this experiment to find out the usefulness of pirates eyepatches. They had the guys try to do simple tasks in the dark and they couldn't see a thing and did poorly on their assigned tasks. They were falling into everything......but then they patched an eye for however long before hand and when they entered the dark and took off the patdh they could immediately see because their eyes were adjusted. They were all amazed at how well the patch worked when you wanted to sneak around at night and see well with no adjustment period.

Sorry --I don't watch Heroes. Don't even know what it is about or who is on it. Guess I would not be on the list then.
