wow, I hadn't watched the video before because I can't youtube at work. Then every time I would think about it at home, I didn't want to hunt for it.

Anyway, thanks to whoever posted it.
And thanks to Lisa for putting it in the summary.

There are many more links like that in the summaries if you haven't checked them out before. :thumbsup2

Lisa,

While I rarely post, I really want to thank you for all you do with this board. And thanks to so many others for some entertaining chatter.

The email is very unfortunate.

On the bright side, it seems like very few folks have signed up on that other web site since the last time an email was sent a couple of weeks ago.

So Lisa, Chin up... Cause you rock!

Hi Sil!

This is DS9's week for farm chores at school. He has to be at school at 7:30(!) to help Farmer Steve with the farm. He thinks it's a blast. I think getting the boys to school in two shifts is a bit of a pain. Today, he had the same jobs as yesterday - feed the cow, two pigs, six sheep, and 50-70 chickens, then water all the plants in the greenhouse. Farmer Steve feeds the llama (maybe it bites :confused3 ) According to DS9 - feeding the animals is way more fun than watering.

If feeding the animals is so much fun, how come I have trouble getting him to feed the dogs? Huh? Huh?

Tomorrow DH has lasik - again. He got lased about 6 months ago. His vision went from about 20/1200 to 20/40. He's pretty jazzed. But, the doc isn't satisfied. Want's another shot at getting him to 20/20 or better - no charge. His explination at the pre-op on Monday was - "we're going to have to two putt on this to get it in the hole". DH responded - "two putt? I'm just glad to be in the country club!"

I watched his first surgery. Gave me the heebie jeebies. :crazy2: I have no desire to do this. But, I can understand DH's desire. My eyesight is 20/40 uncorrected - I can't imagine what he was living with. It's just too bad he couldn't see anything back when I was skinny...

Hope everything goes well with DH's surgery today. It sounds like DS is having a blast. We also struggle with our DS remembering to feed the dogs - finally have it that he can't eat until they do:rolleyes1. Guess who remembers now...

BIP - Wish things were better for your DH. And you too... hopefully the Dr can chase away the scary boogeyman you've got going on. :grouphug:

Shelly, I read your post and hadn't responded yet. I wanted to say something to let you know I will be wishing you well. But didn't want the standard "sending pixie dust your way".

I'm quoting Jennifer because I really like the way she put it. I am also hoping the Dr can "chase away the scary boogeyman".

Laura: loving the pics !!!

on a side note on the Pananma Canal widening project: I know I have mentioned the Panama Canal article in "Nat'l Geographic"...but Monday night at my hair salon I read an article in "Popular Mechanics"...Feb issue, I believe...it was very informative!!!! Apologies if it has already been mentioned....

never would have thought about checking Popular Mechanics for a PC article.....and what the heck was that mag doing in the hair salon???

Come on, Monica -- everyone knows that mechanics always stop by the hair salon on the way home to get the grease washed out of their hair, followed by a nice blowout . . . what do you expect them to read then? Redbook?;)

Just a little update on our lives...

Jeff had his appt this morning and they did give him the shot in his shoulder but did not give him an Rx for anything for inflammation like I'd hoped. They also scheduled him with a physical therapist but it's at a local gym (the one we had a 3yr membership but it ended in Dec 2006 LOL) and I'm not sure if the therapist there accepts insurance. So this may end up being costly. :(

Meanwhile I have to contact my dr ASAP because I have something very scary going on right now. VERY scary- like bad scary (not like pregnant scary- that can't happen anyway! LOL)
Any prayers you can throw my way would be MUCH appreciated. :(

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Extra prayers and pixie dust coming your way. Please keep us posted.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Hi Everybody,

Just checking in after a long couple of weeks. I read all of the 12,000 posts that I missed. (Well OK, I read the summaries of the 12,000 posts that I missed.) I hate when real life gets in the way of important things like the DIS. I'm enjoying my Spring Break... especially with the wind chill in the teens and the snow coming down!

Andy, hope you're keeping warm out there. At least it's supposed to get back up to the 50's this weekend.

Lisa, thanks for all that you do here on the DIS!

And thanks to all of you that post here and make everybody feel welcome. Even us low-posting slackers! By the way, this is my 100th post to this thread. As you can see by my post count, that's a big deal for me! Looking forward to seeing you all on the Trip Of A Lifetime!

BIP, sending prayers for both you and your DH.

Hopefully, I'll talk to you all soon.

Crash, this is FUN!! :thumbsup2

1) What would you take - lump sum or annual payments?
I want a LUMP SUM:thumbsup2
2) What would be the FIRST application for your 1st dollar of proceeds?
I would pay off all of our debt (including student loans)
3) Where would go on your first trip with the proceeds?
Where else?!?!? I would charter the Magic for all of my family and friends. (including this group of crazy DISers!!)
4) Would you continue working or maintain the MAJORITY of your routine?
I would stop working, but I would probably find a way to use my time to help others. (Maybe be a volunteer teacher at the city schools)
5) What charity or non-profit would be the 1st beneficiary of your windfall?
American Cancer Society, and Susan G. Komen Foundation
6) Would you do anything special with the proceeds in the near future?
I would establish a private, non-profit organization to assist state and local governments with the HUGE issue of children "in the system". (including assistance for the parents of these children with housing, job training, job placement, and independence training...You'd be amazed at the number of young, single mothers out there who just don't know how to live independently, and therefore cannot care for their children.) :sad1:
7) What would be the most crazy thing you might do which otherwise would be far fetched to consider now?
I would build a castle! :cloud9:

Luckily it's part of a recall so, I won't have to foot the bill. :thumbsup2 I didn't know that this morning.

Well, I'm still 25 pages behind and it's been another looooonnnnnggggg day, so Good night Everyone, Have a Happy Wednesday!!!

Sorry to hear that you had car problems. Glad that you weren't hurt when it broke down.

Speaking of REPO men...

We were on NCL this past Christmas and were chosen to play "Family Feud". They asked each of us what we do for a living. The crew member was not American, but I don't remember what her nationality was right now....either way, she didn't understand English all that well. She got to my dad, and he said he was a "Repo Man". She didn't understand, and asked him to repeat it...about three times before my mom stomped on my Dad's foot. Then he told the truth and said "I'm retired" and my mom (who thought she was whispering, but forgot that dad was holding the microphone) said "More like retarded".......the audience thought it was hysterical....I was ready to slink slowly off the stage........:(

BTW...he used to sell insurance.
