Just called HoJo and you have to ask for In House reservations, they open at 8am west coast time, 11am here on the east coast ;)

I just got in for lunch, the claims adjuster was here, got him taken care of, then called HoJo and got our room reserved for Friday and Saturday nights 8/15 and 8/16!!! :thumbsup2

Now I've got to get some lunch and THAW out!!! :lmao:

I have a question and I don't know if it has been answered already, here goes:

Has anyone booked their hotel for Ca pre cruise?

I have never been to CA so I am wondering where to stay.
One of the DL hotels or(we plan on going to DL and CA)one of the hotels nearby?:confused3 Should I rent a car:drive: or just use their transfers? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Thanks in advance!

Sorry if I'm repeating, and someone else answered...but the Disneyland Hotels don't open their bookings until the one year-out date.
Some people have booked Howard Johnson's nearby the parks.
I don't know a thing about the transportation/transfers....sorry.

That's right about the Disney hotels . . . and some people have already booked the Howard Johnson. My recommendation about a car is that if you are only planning to be at DL before the cruise, you don't need a car -- just use the transfers. For the onsite hotels and many, many of the offsite hotels, you can walk easily to either park (their entrances sit directly across from each other), Downtown Disney, tons of places to eat, etc. You only need a car if you plan to explore other parts of So Cal.

I just booked HoJo's for a pre-cruise stay and the first 2 people I spoke with told me they can only book 1 year out. I finally spoke with another woman who did book it for me, and gave me a conf #.

I booked 2 rooms, both with 2 queen beds on an upper floor w/balcony facing Disneyland.....$99/night.....$94.05 with a military discount.

Great rate and rooms! I guess I had better check with the Moms and see if they want to stay near the parks, or the port.

I think that's the other group sailing on the eastbound repo with us . . . when we got the surprise email a while back it had a link to another site that I think might have been called that (can't remember for sure).

I think that's right. Andy should know, if he checks back after he thaws out.

I wonder if there's a way to let the hotel know that we are a DIFFERENT group....I guess we just say "no, that's not us" ???

Captian, Might I be so bold as to offer up a joke for today???

What sits on your shoulder and says "Pieces of nine! Pieces of nine!"?

A parrotty error!

Not good enough? How about this one:

What does a pirate take for indigestion?

Yo ho ho and a bottle of Tums

I did visit California Adventure a couple of years ago. I was in Anaheim for a national conference of Project and Program Managers. We had a 4 day class before the conference and convinced the instructor to end on the last day at 11:30 so that we could go play at Disney. Seven senior project managers - it took us 45 minutes to get out of the hotel lobby. :rotfl2:

May someone mercifully SHOOT ME if I ever knowingly seek a management position! I've got a Dilbert strip somewhere that shows the newly frocked managers getting their pointy-hair haircuts...:rotfl:

Just called HoJos in Anaheim. Yep, there is another cruise group going there at the same time, not Disney though. I asked about maybe getting a group discount, but not at these rates at this time. Seems like with all of the DIS cruisers showing up on the west coast for a change that HoJos motivation for a discount is smaller. :rotfl: It would also involve all of us arriving and departing on the same dates.

I got the same rates as you guys have previously posted. Don't forget to ask about AARP, senior, government or military rates. It will save an additional 5% off. So, we booked 8/14-8/17, premium view (DL) for $94.40+ tax per night with a military discount.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

PS
If you call, tell the nice young man at the front desk NOT TO TRANSFER YOU TO CENTRAL RESSIES!!! And the lovely lady also told me that she's received about 12 calls this morning from DIS folks. :)

Still Not good Enough?

Where did the one legged pirate go for breakfast

IIIIIIHOP.

THE HOJO rep was wrong - the other cruise group is also on the DCL eastbound repo. I participate in that group as well as this one. This group also stayed at HOJO before the last repo and had very good things to say about it overall.

1 More for good luck...

What do you call 1000 pirates in a room?

Avast conspiracy!

I called at 11am here and was told the ressie people were running late due to traffic on the freeway and was told to call back in 30 minutes. I got home and found the insurance adjuster waiting for me. He was also the adjuster for the neighbor who lives behind me. Once he left I got back on the phone with HoJo and got our ressie confirmed, the person I spoke to didn't know anything about the cruise. We also got a two queen bed room facing DL for the $99.00 rate.

Never gonna ketch-up today!!!!:upsidedow DD is home - too cold for school here today - slept in and are gonna have a girls day - if I can get her away from Animal Planet, that is!!!!:)

have our Mega Millions ticket for tonight - GOOD LUCK!!!! to everyone here with a ticket!!!!:thumbsup2 We only get them when the pot is high - although I know that probably is against common sense...plus, DH won the NY lottery once along with a group of co-workers (not any where near enough to quit your job over) - so I am not sure it is worth it 'cause I doubt lightening strikes twice!!! - I tell him I am buying the ticket - 'cause he has had his chance!!!:rotfl:

an attempt to ketchup on a couple topics I missed:

board games - used to play Othello when I was in High School - not good at most strategy games like Risk....

soaps - haven't watch them in years despite being home all day...once in awhile have to have network on to keep an eye on school closings and it seems not much changes in all that time. I am the type that likes closure , so soaps and shows like "lost" aren't for me. At the time, did get caught up in the whole Luke and Laura thing ..remember people getting together in the TV lounge at college to watch!!!!

first trip: grew up with Disney, of course: most of my early memories are Disney - record albums, first movie, etc. Sundays were fun - Mutual of Omaha, WW Of Disney - mom would play "restaurant" at dinner for us....anyway, we had family in Pinellas Park and went down there every other winter for a couple weeks anyway - drove down in a truck camper and stayed with family. When they announced the Fla park - my dad said we were there!!!! Sis and I had an artist rendering of the castle - (from Time or the Disney mag at the time???) on our bedroom door waiting for the day. A couple years before the park opened we actually drove to the visitor's center and took that tour - then drove through the orange groves and dug up site. I can remember the film with the model in front of you - and you exited out into a gift shop - of course!!!! The center used to be in front of DTD - but I am pretty sure it is gone now( - I think it went away when they expanded it and added West side.) Then when the park opened - we got to visit it that first Feb or March. I really need to look up those pictures!!!

Time to head out into the :cold: see y'all later. :wave2:

Called got my ressie for the HoJo - 3 nights (Thurs, Fri & Sat) at $99.00/night for the preferred room with view.

Hi Folks - I just called HoJo also. I talked to a very nice lady (I think "Jennifer" - but remember what I said about being bad at remembering names? :confused3 ) ************** I explained that no, I was from a different group from a different website - the DIS Board (she asked me to spell it) and then she asked if she could put me on hold for a couple minutes.

When she got back she said she had just discussed this with her manager and since we are all going on the same cruise that they are going to treat us as one big combined group. She then gave me the rates of $71.20 for the standard 2 double-bed room or $79.20 for the 2 queen-bed room with DL view!!! (Prices before taxes) I booked the DL view for 2 ngihts (arriving Friday, leaving Sunday)

Just wanted to let you all know so you can try for the lower rate too.

It's almost as good as :cake: :rotfl2:
