Well... since I still have this horrible head cold -I've been doing some "ketchup" rather than real work today! Now I have to go get DS7 and take him to Irish Step Dance class so before I go here is another "Blast from the Past" (mostly yesterday!) multi-post.
Cool, cool, cool! I love those books!!! For some reason, most of the folks I know don't read neat stuff like this and if I quote something like this they look at me like I have 2-heads
Good luck with all the work - but Welcome to Chicago. Are you going to be in the city itself or the suburbs? I am fairly certain that the city schools don't go back until after labor day ....
Me too! I'm terrible at names and faces. What is really bad is that I live in the town where I grew up and occasionally run into people who know me - unfortunately, I usually have no idea who they are!
That's all for now folks. After step dance, I have less than 2 hours to get dinner together, make sure any homework is done and get to choir practice, so I probably won't be back until after 10pm tonight (if I'm not just collapsing into bed...)

p. 48, paragraph 8 of The Ultimate Hitchhikers Guide:
"Resistance is useless!" bellowed the guard.
"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has a few things to say on the subject of towels. A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. ....." (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Chapter Three)"
And I thought I was the towel-stealer on this cruise?

DS7 has been saying since he was 4 that he is going to be an artist. He also wants to design machines/building/etc (Engineer). About a year ago he found out about Imagineering, so he changed it to being an Imagineer and an Artist. He will be 8 in two months and has had the same plan for nearly 4 years now ....When they were young what did / do your kids (or you) want to be when they grow / grew up?
Good Morning Everyone![]()
There will be no way I can ketchup. I feel guilty. Now I have a confession to make.............I can't deny this any longer because it is becoming a reality but boy can life be tough sometimes.
My DH just signed a lease yesterday for a apartment in Chicago. I am going to try and move to Chicago by the beginning of summer. I have been in this house for 16 years and so much clutter to go through and hurry up to get this house ready to sell, court with ex will not be fun. DD starting high school alot needs to be done there. My DD has been in the same school district her whole life.
One of the reasons I had posed the question about taking kids out of school a million pages ago was for this reason. Brooke will miss the first 5 days of school. We have made the decision that the cruise was booked first and well the experience and family can't replace that.
This decision has not come lightly and I can't tell you how many times we changed our minds in the process. Thanks for reading this. Letting others know can only help me 1. to do the things I need to because most of it is on me.
Good luck with all the work - but Welcome to Chicago. Are you going to be in the city itself or the suburbs? I am fairly certain that the city schools don't go back until after labor day ....
OH and just so's you's know's, I'm bad with names. Takes me a while to put names to faces. Most of you will just become "DUDE!" for the first few days. And from across the ship, you all will become "DUDE!"![]()
