Filling in a bit for Crash here:

We had 20,000 at exactly the one month mark 1/13 - 2/13. Well we are WAY ahead of that schedule for this month. With 9 days to go, we are only 1,000 posts off the mark. Dare I say 30,000 posts for month 2!

Sad reality hit today

Visiting with my family today to celebrate my nephew's girlfriend's birthday. We started talking about our next family reunion. Our reunions are a big deal with over 120 people in attendance (I know that probably freaks out Enna and the others in the WPP). It's my dad's side of the family and my grandma had 8 kids, hence the big reunions. The next one falls to my dad's clan to plan, we rotate around each time.

We have them ever other year over the Labor Day weekend....can you see where this is going? Well, the last reunion was 2006, so guess when the next one is?

I totally forgot about the reunion when planning this TOAL. In addition to myself and my son, my parents are booked too! So now, either I miss the reunion or I cancel the cruise. It just makes me sick. I don't want to do either.

My family is great. I have the ABNORMAL family in which parents are still married, sibblings don't hate each other, no thieves, drug dealers, murderers etc. Even within the extended family, every gets along. In the 20+ years of having these reunions we've never had any fights or cops called (except for being to loud at night).

But my new family here is great too. And the one cruise I've always wanted to take has been TPC. I suppose I could switch to the May Repo, but then I wouldn't cruise with all of you.

I've got plenty of time to make a decsion so I'm not going to do anything right now. I realy don't want to cancel the TOAL. I have a feeling my parents will probably cancel though.

UGH!!!! I can't even think about it anymore right now.

I was at work way longer than I anticipated. Went and saw my Mom's DH today. He is doing much better. they got him off the vent this evening.:thumbsup2

Good to hear, Paula. pixiedust: pixiedust: PD for a speedy recovery

* this site is way over my head..however, i don't see the need to
question someone when i, didn't understand their postings. for the record,
i have never lied, but its fun to add a lil'imagination in my processing...
i could be wrong but it seem to me, when someone questioning my
input..is like putting me down...it would not be hard to redirect, but
all iam asking..if you don't get it then 'it' wasn't meant for you ..so
plez don't. the magic is a very big ship...with room for all. my postings
sorta expalined the things important to me...esp. my family. my wife
gave me the name lil'grumpy..for a very good reason. the one thing
i think is a major benefit of these boards has been discovering many
kindred spirits. :grouphug: . but if one feel they do not share similar
interests, i can respect that if they do the same.

I sure hope that you don't let anyone keep you from posting. I look forward to your posts. The way you present your thoughts sneaks in some really golden nuggets of knowledge. It is obvious that you are a very caring person. :goodvibes

I doubt I will be able to catch up before the 3am shut down. Wondering why I am still up tonight? DD is having a sleepover. Yes, I have seven 12-14 yos in the house. They are playing, "Would you rather???"

The slowdown for me is around 12:10-15 every night. I just close out all of the windows because they take forever to enter. :confused3

The recipe doesn't say how much Bailey's I should put in my glass while I'm cooking. Any suggestions, anyone?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has a few things to say on the subject of towels. A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value—you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble-sanded beaches of Santraginus V, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand-to-hand combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindboggingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you—daft as a brush, but very, very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough. More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag [non-hitch hiker] discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might accidentally have 'lost'. What the strag will think is that any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with." (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Chapter Three)"

And I thought I was the towel-stealer on this cruise?

Wow John, I never knew a towel had so many uses!

Wow. Even with multi-quote and Friday night Chat taking away some of the posting volume we're still a talkative bunch!
