Yup, I guess most of us have gotten it . Don't know what's behind it:confused3 ,but reminds me of DD's school days with cliques.

BIP sending some pixiedust: . Hope it turns out ok.

Tom, do you ever sleep?I remember the days I could stay up that late. Not anymore sadly to say. Love the pics of you and the spouse. Can't wait to meet you in person as you seem like a really fun guy.

Today is my TGIF:cool1: .Tomorrow we are going to see a Yankee spring training game at Disney. My DH bought a mitt with the dreams of catching a ball:lmao: First Thursday with no Dr. appts as well. No complaints with the knees since the shots.

They say 2 winners so far and there may be more. Wouldn't mind sharing in that pot. It's time to cook up dinner for later.

Just in quick skimming I see you need prayers and pixie dust Shelley.......praying everything is okay Pal!

We aren't the only ones who have gotten this. I have been contacted by some not on our thread who have received the email as well. :furious:

Are you joking????

That makes no sense! This is like a smear campaign.....

Meanwhile I have to contact my dr ASAP because I have something very scary going on right now. VERY scary- like bad scary (not like pregnant scary- that can't happen anyway! LOL)
Any prayers you can throw my way would be MUCH appreciated. :(

Love to you -- let us know how you are and if there is anything we can do!

Morning,

And I thought I was talkative! Will be going on this cruise next year too. Haven't posted here (other than to say hello to Mary Rose, Tina, Andy, etc) on this thread but saw that it was probably time to post.

Before I went on our first cruise (and first visit to the US) last year, I met the most fantastic people here and on the other board, too many to mention, who made my whole holiday an amazing experience. Everyone was so so nice to us. For that reason we decided to go on the med cruise and then to book the Panama cruise too, and we are so looking forward to it. I rang and got my rate for HOJO yesterday and was thrilled because living in Ireland, there is no way on earth I would be able to get local insider information as I do from knowing all these people.

I don't know who sent that PM to you guys yesterday, and I know that plenty more don't either (they have said it publically) but it is certainly working towards a "Them versus Us" culture, which would be a terrible shame. Rather than selling the positives of another site, it is making you doubt the people there, and that is not right.

MR, you said "they are trying to get a rise", I promise you it is not "they". Some want to post here, some want to post there and some like me want to post in both, but it should be a choice, not a directive, by anyone.

I want to be able to hold my head up and say hello to everyone and meet like minded people who pay a lot of money to enjoy the short amount of time we get off each year, not to worry about the " what group are you with" scenario.

I currently post and plan on a different site, because it suits me, and that's what it's about. Choice.

Now to those that know me, it's quite short really!:rotfl2:

Have a nice Wednesday!:grouphug:

What part of Ireland are you from? Which Med cruise are you on? It's great to know you will be on the repo next year . . .

Just a little update on our lives...

Jeff had his appt this morning and they did give him the shot in his shoulder but did not give him an Rx for anything for inflammation like I'd hoped. They also scheduled him with a physical therapist but it's at a local gym (the one we had a 3yr membership but it ended in Dec 2006 LOL) and I'm not sure if the therapist there accepts insurance. So this may end up being costly. :(

Meanwhile I have to contact my dr ASAP because I have something very scary going on right now. VERY scary- like bad scary (not like pregnant scary- that can't happen anyway! LOL)
Any prayers you can throw my way would be MUCH appreciated. :(

Keeping you in our prayers and pixiedust: and :grouphug:

1) Lump Sum
2) 1st dollar? Candy bar.
3) A trip to anywhere, with my whole family - 13 of us. Can't pin everyone down to something that everyone can afford and would enjoy.
4) Continue working. Not necessarily my job now as it is, but doing something.
5) The Salvation Army - with a sneaky designation of a Retired Officer Residence.
6) Huh? Everything I do is special.
7) Far-fetched? Not really.

As far as the spam goes - that sucks. I asked to be removed from the list and I hope that request is honored. Course, when I sent it I had literally just woken up and didn't phrase it as polietly as I could've - nothing to nasty but a quick note of frustration. I don't want to have to look over my shoulder all the time. I just want to be happy and have fun. That's why even though I wasn't really active on the DIS much anymore, I knew straight were to go when I booked the cruise and wanted to find a group. Groups are more fun!!

Lisa - thank you for all you do. I understand the volunteer position and I know it can be hard and you sometimes question why. But we are all very thankful for you and what you're doing for our TOAL.

Paula - I LOVE playing games. Count me in! I have a couple decks of cards I plan on bringing and if there's anything else I should bring, let me know.

Mark & Laura - Laura hope you get some news/drugs/something at the Dr. so you're on the mend soon... fast even. Will keep your DD in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

BIP - Wish things were better for your DH. And you too... hopefully the Dr can chase away the scary boogeyman you've got going on. :grouphug:

Esteri - pixiedust: for the Lasik for your DH. I have VERY bad vision and can't see a thing without my contacts. Wish lasik was covered under my insurance!! :grouphug:

Lil'Grump - I enjoy your posts. Sometimes I have to read them more than once to make sure I'm getting what you're meaning, but I have to do that with my own posts too, sometimes. Thanks for the pictures... the last one made me LOL.

Will definitely be calling HoJo's today. We should have a HoJo's meet or something. ;) I know when my parents will be there, I'm just not sure of my dates yet. Will have to make something up by 11am. Possibly arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday. Heck, could even be Monday! LOL

Can you tell my boss wasn't here when I got here this morning??? Doesn't surprise me as it was -5 this morning when I got up not sure what the windchill was at that time. Currently, we're sitting around -2 with a windchill of -14. This is fahrenheit people.

Well, it's just about 8:30 and time for me to clock in. Have a great day all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN

Lisa.....I really think this is one person's opinion....not the opinion of their entire group. And we would not be here if we agreed with that opinion. I appreciate that you volunteer to help out on the DIS. We all understand you are doing your job.
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I totally agree! My children read the Dis and I couldn't have them read some of the threads on that board.
On the 10nt Southern my children (at the time 26, 23, 15 & 8) read and posted on the Dis thread. I could not have let my 2 youngest participate on the thread on the other board.
The people that I have talked to on the other board seem perfectly nice but, they do and say anything they want on the other board -- which is their right!

Morning Everyone!:coffee:

I didn't get one of those PM's.

My two cents to be added - life is too short! I enjoy this DIS thread. I know some of you already as we have crusied twice already and you are like my extended family.
We have been thru hurricane Frances(extra days at sea).

Alot of milestones in our group along with sickness and unfortunately deaths in our families. We are there for each other. I really appreciate the Disers I haven't met yet but are so willing to pass on information when I have questions regarding the west coast as my family(my sister is Reenieny18)have never been there.

We have so many things to look forward to and I would hate to jeapordize(sp) this site. Even though I don't write alot I enjoy getting up every morning and signing on knowing that I will have several pages to catchup on.

Lisa - if you have to edit my post please do.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Andy - stay warm!!

MR- hope you have a good day at work today.

Moira - (you know I still love your name, I told you this last year when I met you on the ship) Everytime I have a glas of Bailey's I think of you!

We gradually weed out those who are less then civil.

I keep expecting my "weeding" out notice. :scared: I think it was JR that said it, but there's a lot of DCL veterans on here who know the best places to hide a body on the Magic.:lmao:

I have never received a "mod" notice on any board I've posted, but I'm constantly rereading my posts because I'm concerned that an attempt at humor or an opinion may upset someone. There can be a fine line between what's funny and what's offensive. It's easier to gauge that line when you know someone personally and can get non-verbal feedback, but it's something I've worried about here on Dis. I think a "moderated" forum does help keep a basic pirate code, but it's great that there are other forums out there for those who have other tastes. None-the-less, I certainly hope I've never posted anything that's upset someone, apologize if I have, and would always welcome a quick PM if something I've posted seems inappropriate.

Guys, someone just forwarded it to me. I have been working on other things for the board. I can't help but feel that maybe I shouldn't work so hard to keep this thread going so that it doesn't get shut down like theirs did.

I also do not want anyone to think that I am just targeting someone. I have tried to reach out to bridge the gap and actually found that the people I have chatted with aren't "bad guys" and have the same hopes about this cruise being a great family vacation just like I do. I agree that we are going to have to figure out some way to be decent to each other on the ship for 15 days. I have been told that we shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I don't go around making wide far out decisions on my own on the boards. The rules and guidelines are set by the owners and it is my job to see that they are kept in the cruise forums. I agreed to do this job on my time because I enjoy the DIS boards. I do not get paid for this in any way. I do it because I like to help people get ready for their cruises...especially that first one...and I have always had what I believe is a better cruise experience because of the DIS group that we have cruised with.

The fact that someone is trying to ruin that for this cruise is very upsetting to me. This cruise is going to be what you guys want it to be no matter who else is on the ship. I just don't understand why someone continues to do this.

Lisa -

None of my business, but :grouphug: to you, and to the rest of your wonderful friends here.

I hope you guys all appreciate her. We'll take her anytime with our group . . .

I like to kid with you guys, but what I have seen somewhere else is just plain mean and nasty, and I just don't understand why ANYONE would want to be a part of THAT.

Have fun guys, and I hope you all have a great time here and a wonderful cruise - some of my cherished friends are here with you. I'll keep watching you guys until our geek thread is in your rearview mirror.

Good Morning! Alot to ketchup on. Whatever was sent I didn't get.

I for one do appreciate everything that Lisa does for the DIS and this thread in particular. I think you'll find that most of us on this thread really really do!:grouphug:

This is DS9's week for farm chores at school. He has to be at school at 7:30(!) to help Farmer Steve with the farm. He thinks it's a blast. I think getting the boys to school in two shifts is a bit of a pain. Today, he had the same jobs as yesterday - feed the cow, two pigs, six sheep, and 50-70 chickens, then water all the plants in the greenhouse. Farmer Steve feeds the llama (maybe it bites :confused3 ) According to DS9 - feeding the animals is way more fun than watering.

If feeding the animals is so much fun, how come I have trouble getting him to feed the dogs? Huh? Huh?

Tomorrow DH has lasik - again. He got lased about 6 months ago. His vision went from about 20/1200 to 20/40. He's pretty jazzed. But, the doc isn't satisfied. Want's another shot at getting him to 20/20 or better - no charge. His explination at the pre-op on Monday was - "we're going to have to two putt on this to get it in the hole". DH responded - "two putt? I'm just glad to be in the country club!"

I watched his first surgery. Gave me the heebie jeebies. :crazy2: I have no desire to do this. But, I can understand DH's desire. My eyesight is 20/40 uncorrected - I can't imagine what he was living with. It's just too bad he couldn't see anything back when I was skinny...

Good luck to your DH today.:)

Yes, I have always found it funny that kids find things they do at others houses or places more fun than those same things they need to do at home. :scratchin
