Hi everyone!
Hope it has been an enjoyable Saturday!

Brendan and I went to a travel show today and inquired about getting on this cruise...the answer was that it was SOLD OUT! I was shocked! LOL :lmao:

Chrissie

hi everyone,

have not posted in awhile, but just wanted to post and let everyone know that we will unfortunatly not be able to cruise on the repo with everyone due to the fact that one of my family members is getting married and there is no way for us to get out of it.. so i hope everyone has a great time...

Chrissie - I can't remember - but are you trying to book this cruise? But, if "tigger and pooh" did have a stateroom booked - it will now become available. So, I think the "sold out" status will change in time.

Chris

It was so amazing to hear his voice echo thoughout the arena. He is a real sweetie too! He walked through the audience, sat on the edge of the stage & let people surround him, signed autographs, hugged a little girl. He's got a great sense of humor too, when he first came on stage he said, "It's wicked pissah to be in Boston!" :rotfl:

Hi Diane,

Sounds like you had a great time last night!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Curious about that comment - is it because the prices go up higher? Really havent attended the talk yet so not sure how it could be applied. Just wondering, had a friend sign up and his base resort is Saratoga Springs and he's buying some more points when AK lodges opens up. Sounds like more Disney plans on getting your $ but hey - I keep going back for more.

Psst, geffric, they don;t know about me yet.....DVC Witness here...

Um, I already bought in at AK. There was a special op for existing members. If you bought 150 new points and were one of the first ones, they will hang a tapestry with your family name on it in the new wing. I thought it would be something special for the Kiddos...

I started with 150 at Boardwalk, and we are now up to 650 in various locations. DW loves the 1BR; "Washer/Dryer" She can start a load at night when we go to bed, put it in the dryer when we awaken (and if needed start another load then too) We can leave it all day and not have to worry about unloading. This means a lot less clothing needed. We also can fil up the fridge on a grocery stop. It isn't quite as good as concierge, but we like the size of the rooms. Also, Do you really need maid service every day? DW has the habit of cleaning up for the maid. It is less stressful for her, but less soap and stuff to take home.

Costs? Well, I think the costs went up on the first, but last month it was $99/pt with an $8 rebate if you buy at least 100 points. So for the sake of the arguement, AK at $91 a point... Actually, the pricing is in effect until June 4th

Complex Math.....
2054-2007=47 years
$91/ 47 years = $1.94 (per use year point)
Annual fee: (SS 2007) $4.12
so, if you bought in at this rate, your first use year points would cost you $6.06

A 1 BR at AKV has a weekly rate of the following during the spring Break Season...

Depending on the view: Value 169, Standard 198, Savanah 234, or Concierge...277

Using the bank/borrow you can you can blow 2 years worth of points in 1 year and stay on the concierge level with 150 points. Your cost is $6.06*277, or just under $1700 for the points. That is $240 a night (with no added room taxes).

If you wanted to just do a Sun-Thursday trip, it is only
Sun-Thu V 19, STD 22, Sav 26, Concierge 31

31 points a night (at $6.06 a night) is just under $190

Weekend points are more expensive:
Fri-Sat V 37, STD 44, Sav 52, Concierge...61
$370 a night. (61pts*$6.06)

So there you have it, for a week during Spring Break Next Year using freshly bought points, how much it will cost you...

If you buy in at 150 points, you can use 2 years at a time to get the 277 points for Concierge!!! If you don't care about the Savanah view or the concirge level, I would say get 200 points so you can go every year on points. You might up it to 225 so you have enough for the "Magic" season" (spring break etc...)

Any Questions???

It's going to be too cloudy here too! :sad1:

"Some other goodies" Care to share? :rolleyes1

Just too many clouds, can't see a thing, but it is pitch black outside, kind of spooky..........

I had a Rancher's Chicken Oven Baked Rustic Sandwich and boy was it gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am in a frying mood today. I'm fixing chicken tender, onion rings and fries,
tried to talk them into going out.

We got Chinese take-out delivered. DH is working 1/2 a shift so he's not home to eat and I really didn't feel like putting the stew up when I got home from schleping the stinky pre-teen around.

The clouds started to part enough so I was able to see the beginning of the moon coming out of the eclipse.

I went back outside with my camera to try a get a pic, the clouds are blocking the moon again. :(

Well I don't know what a Rancher's chicken oven baked rustic sandwich is....but it sounds yummy! I'm starving! I think we are going to head to Aculpulco's for a late dinner. I'm in the mood for a beef burrito & a couple of margaritas! Ketchup later!

Are you talkin' Crash or Jack? Captn' Jack was on earlier this morning, he was going 4 wheelin' in a jeep today, said he would be back later.

Yep I was ...and just got back ...Had a great time ...should have some awesome pictures in a couple of days ...

Dang Pirate Smilely moved again

Dinner was prett tasty and DH cleaned up!:cool1:

stopping by to say HI..:laundy: I'm doing laundry and Eric is working on his paper and Geoff is avoiding me .. so he must not be ready to do his speech..

I agree Arlene...I think I prefer the late too....but this is too late on the West Coast I think.......oh I don't know :lmao: It's too bad there isn't an intermediate dining........say at 7 or 7:30 that'd be perfect for us!

I will miss you guys in late seating tho!

But think about it.. we will only be on west coast time for 1 week at the most.. then we switch to central and to eastern.. Plus the whole day will be on Western time so you will be sleeping later etc..

off to see if the stuff in the dryer is dry.. BRB

Who else has late seating again? Come on....we almost have enough DISsers for a whole dining room on early seating.

I've got late seating.

I'm hoping to link up with some folks since I'm traveling solo. I know how to use a knife and fork. I'll let you taste my dessert.

Rancher's Chicken Oven Baked Rustic Sandwich: Grilled Chicken with Ranch Dressing, Provolone Cheese and Red Roasted Peppers. These are served on hard rolls that are absolutely delicious.

We're on late seating too -- our schedule shifts around on a cruise so that we go to bed much later (and sleep much later) than usual, and I found on our last cruise that early seating made the afternoon seem short and more rushed.

It is kind of quiet around here tonight............:confused3

Is this for add ons only? Can a newbie purchase 100 points directly from DVC? :wizard: I thought you had to purchase at least 150 points if you were buying from Disney.

I need to check out the DVC board.:surfweb:
