Hi Deanna, whilst Johnna watches The Empire Strikes Back I thought I'd sneak in a few posts.

I've also been searching for the longest time for material for my DD's POTC costume. I think I'm trying too hard to get an exact match. I've been watching the opening scene of POTC for the last week, with young Elizabeth Swann (DD age 11). It's embroidered silk. The real stuff is expensive, then I turned to faux silk in the Shantung style. What to do?

Too much info?

Go with the faux!

Funny.... I just finished watching the Tin Man episode of Stargate SG-1. You know the one were the team gets recreated as Harlan's maintenance crew.

But I'm thinking I probably shouldn't post that cause I might be considered lame. ;)

Ok, I hear that collective groan from the few who go it. I think I'll head off to bed. Don't post too much. Lately you've posted just enough overnight to keep me occupied on the bus to work.

Lame? Look who your talking to, a bunch of DCL geeks who know the architecture of each stateroom by heart. Sorry but thats lame. Me included. Thats why I love you all!

Did you know this is my first and only tread.

I was thinking he meant something like Desitin, but I guess Prep H could "shrink" a rash! :lmao:

Preparation H also shrinks bags under the eyes..........as well as Hemorrhoidal tissues! I is a College Graduate....I is!!!

Same thing happened to us when we took ME & they gave out the free pins. Now both kids have to get new pins whenever we go & DS is really into trading with the CM's. He is so outgoing & I'm glad because I've always been a bit shy & so is DD.

Pin trading got my DD to come out of her shell. :goodvibes Now she looks forward to it.

We are happy to be your first, Pete. And yes, we will still respect you after the cruise.

Guess what I forgot tonight?!?!?!? The potatoes!!! I usually fix corned beef & cabbage in the pot. Today I tried it in the crockpot. The beef went in the cp & the cabbage was cooked seperately. The stupid recipe didn't say anything about potatoes!!! :headache: I nuked a couple quickly when I drained the cabbage. NEVER AGAIN!!! OY!

Mmmmmmm - corned beef and cabbage!

Last time we had it I had Pete prepare it - first I got he didn't know what to do:confused3 . Um, put the corned beef in the pot and add water - I like to add a bottle of beer to ours sometimes so I told him to add that also. Anyway I come home from work and the flavor injector thingy is out - he took the beer and injected it into the corned beef before cooking, he said he added so much that it was squirting out of the meat:scared1:! It was really good but when I make it next month I won't be doing that.

Brooke's magical moment.............we were waiting behind the ropes to disembark for Castaway. Brooke & I were discussing the clues to find the buried treasure. I had asked officer Bob about clue # 1. He smiled said he wasn't really supposed to say anything. He left, couple min later comes back and asks how many in our party? We told him 2 he said come with me. We went underneath the ropes and out the door to the gangway !! He made Brooke an honorary security officer.:goodvibes Brooke learned how to use the exray machine which she exrayed my bag.:rotfl2: Took a fake gun through and scan our cards to be first ones off the ship for like 5 mins. Can you imagine just having nothing in front of you and the whole Island to yourself? Even for a few min. It was awesome !!! Brooke used the walkie talkie to bridge to get the all clear. Later that day officer Bob came to our cabin and gave Brooke a magical moment certificate. Here are some pictures.

Oh and yes Bob gave us the answer to clue number 1, got the treasure in record time.:rotfl2:

What a great memory for Brooke:thumbsup2

Johnna is also afraid of flying. I remember flying the October after 9/11 and making Margaritas at 6 in the morning before we left for the airport. Of course I could not let her drink alone.

:lmao: :lmao:

Water Polo!!! Holy Smokes I'm impressed! How old is your DS?

He'll be thirteen (aka stinky teen) in three weeks. He loves to swim and play water polo. I promised I'd pick him up right on time from practice tonight because it is really cold and windy here. Like I said last night, definitely not midwest ice storm cold, but for us in California, we consider this a frigid gale. We are thin skinned! :rotfl:

Lisa I can't believe we're at 469 people already!!! Thanks for all your hard work! I really miss the website you know ;) ;)

It's time for me to get back to Fabricguru.com and look at some more material swatchs. Great site.:thumbsup2

Catch ya'll later.:)

Some Crocs help please friends!

I just received my Crocs Athens (flip flops) I wear a 7 1/2 or 8 depending on the width of the shoe. It said order up so I ordered on 8. They are huge. I know they are suppose to be a little big....but no....they're huge. Now I don't know if I should order them in a 7 or maybe even a 6. Do any of you have any input.

They really need to fit so that they're comfortable, because they are not at all attractive. :thumbsup2

Sorry MR - I can't help. I'm sticking with the cute shoes!

Please excuse my ignorant redneck butt....but is water polo played with horses? If yes, wherever does your DS play that?

Hey Caroline.....me and you definitely gotta hang.....I have the control thing too! I hate turning over my destiny to someone or something else. That is why flying is the WORST of all worlds. It too high and I have to turn over my control to the Pilot. Hey, maybe he fought with his wife, or is drunk, or worse yet, depressed and wants to commit suicide....on my flight....you know take us all down with him.....dead..........well you get my drift..:rotfl: :rotfl:

Well then...um...how many days do you think that it will...um...take away from our time in CA if...um we drive there instead of :scared: flying?

Oh, that doesn't sound good at all. :( I am the same & ordered the medium. We'll see I guess.

Tina--these x-rays are for my annual visit to see the orthopedic doc in a few weeks, but my knees have really been bothering the past few weeks as well. My left knee was so stiff tonight I could hardly get up on the table for some of the x-rays.

Andy sure do hope that you get to feeling better soon!
