BTW, why are we going to a secure website, and using BCC on the emails? Were there problems?

A bunch of us got emails from another group when we hadn't signed up for those emails . . . since our emails were on the non-secure website, it was taken down, and since our email addresses were visible on the group emails sent by Lisa before she did the BCC, that was another security problem.

I heard on the radio yesterday (Kaiser commercial) that laughing for 15 minutes burns 40 calories, and offers all sort of other healthful benefits.

You guys are now officially part of my weight loss program.
Now, if I can just figure out how to reduce the intake....

Looking at the posts on drinks being on the table before you get there, on my 2005 Repo we had two very good servers, I ordered a few wines, usually one each night, but sometimes went for sodas as I do really like them and like a mixture.

They new during the second week it was our wedding anniversary night and the assist server, had a cooled medium expensive sparkling wine for us on arrival in an ice bucket, I hadnt ordered it, so a little bit nice and cheeky at the same time.

But he went to so much effort and I really couldnt say know, nice guesture but would have prefered to choose myself.

The kids like the little kids cocktails all the time Alice like the Bon Voyarge one.

Walking is the best way to see the city . . . in the summer sometimes I will take my girls downtown to Chinatown via subway and wander through Chinatown and Little Italy, through the Village (West and East) and end up at the Union Square greenmarket, before taking the subway back home. It's so much fun just to wander and explore -- it's my favorite thing to do while visiting another city

That's exactly how we did it! We were able to see SO much of the city just taking the subway & busses and walking it! We got to the Guggenheim, Central Park, The Village, Times Square, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty...all in 3 days just walking and taking public transit! (and that little boat ride to the SoL...LOL)

And we only got on each others nerves once the whole time! :thumbsup2 (It was when we were wandering around searching for Jeckyll and Hydes in the Village. We were told about it before we went, and we wanted to have lunch there)
...we were lost and HUNGRY! Bad combination! :scared1: :rotfl: ... Imagine the whole "Haven't we already been down this street?!?!" "No! That was 3 streets over...it just looks the same." scene...:lmao:
FINALLY, I and asked someone if he knew where it was, and he STOPPED what he was doing and WALKED US THERE!!!! All the way to the door! It turned out we were only a couple of blocks from the restaurant, but it was SO nice of that guy to just drop everything and take us there!
I encountered the nicest people in New York!! :thumbsup2

lisa we are more than likely in this group. I even finally have DW excited about this cruise and she hates to fly. She Say's I can barely fly to Florida she doesnt know how she will be able to make to to California

There's a little Happy Pill called Xanax and it's my friend :upsidedow

I'm now skipping all around.
But I want to say thanks to all of you for your well-wishes, and all of the great "new baby" stories and advice! :thumbsup2

OK - Here's Esteri's list of the stuff you really do need to have for babies...

Auto Detailing Towels (get a bag of 25, or more) at Walmart or Costco. Don't like white? A box of RIT will take care of that. Good for burping, drool, bib, emergency diaper, urp, spilled juice, messy faces, messy hands, and a host of other things. Don't leave home without three. And when they get older? Convert them to cleaning the house! Very handy.

Disposable bottles (from my DH) He figured he'd get stuck washing the bottles and didn't want to. In practice they were very practical. No need to carry around multiple bottles - just carry one holder and a bunch of liners.

Bag Balm Nothing cures diaper rash faster. It's becoming more mainstream so you can find it at Walgreens and the like. But if you get stuck - check the pets section. Most pet stores will carry it in the horse section.

My aunt asked her pediatrician how long the whole thing about sterilizing bottles and nipples lasted. His response? "Until the second kid." Don't start - if the dishwasher is good enough for you, it's good enough for baby. They're a lot tougher than manufacturers of baby stuff would like you to think. Same thing with the laundry. You don't really need a different soap unless or until your baby shows signs of being sensitive.

And finally, let them play in the dirt, crawl on the floor, etc. It exercises the immune system and helps prevent allergies and asthma. Yeup - medical studies show it. Those are first world diseases - low rates of occurance in the second world. And the only real difference they could find was the amount of "germs" the kids bumped into on a daily basis. So - let your kid get dirty! They're a lot tougher than we give them credit for. ;)

Just reading all the posts about NYC remind me of a story. My sister(Reenieny18) would go down to NY either just the two of us or with her kids! We went everyhere. I don't mind taking the subway at all especially at 2AM in the morning when I was lost and got on the wrong subway and ended up in Hoboken, NJ!!.

We were once on the Today show(Matt Lauer is short but cute!) Then we would go walking, or subway up to FAO Swartz, they have the piano on the floor as in the movie "BIG", of course going to Bloomingdales, Macy's Tiffany and Co., Gucci and of course all the street vendors on the street(we did get a couple of knockoff items), going to TKTS in times square to get tickets to a ot play on broadway for a lot less money. We wnet to Central Park and went into the Plaza hotel(just to use the batroom) that was the only things we could afford to use!

We also have been to the Paramus Mall in NJ. One day I got of work at 3:30 hopped in the car and drove to the Paramus Mall so Doreen could buy a bracelet!! It was a five hour drive from Syracuse to Paramus and we made it, bought the bracelet and turned around to go home and be back at work at 7AM (I worked in Labor and Delivery at the time and you just don't call in when working in that department)!

Even though I live in Virgina I will always be a New Yorker!

My goal is to not have them find ME!

Got a few minutes to see what's going on, then I have to get ready to go get x-rays taken of my knees.

Hello Everyone !
Remember me ?:rolleyes1 I am the one who used to be in the top 10 but dropped down the um well that doesn't matter now.:rolleyes1 I have only been able to read the " ketchups " on page 1.

I wen't to Chicago then came home to get ready for our mother & daughter cruise on the wonder. Lots of yummy pictures to follow in the coming days.:rotfl2:

Don't know if it was just this cruise or not but thought I would mention it.........DD just got her passport and we tried to drop it off at guest services to get it stamped, we were told they no longer do that.:sad2: Brent from GS told us where we could go in the bahamas to get it stamped. Boy was that a experience. Talk about not being friendly. Brent on the other hand well that is another story.:) He was the best and we saw him everyday and did something special for DD.

Also my DD had a magical moment on cruise, will tell about that and post pics in a min. Next to my wedding cruise this was the best cruise ever.

Welcome Back Tina!!!!!

I'm outta here, see y'all later.............

OK, this is totally off topic but I have to tell someone who might actually appreciate it....

DH got up at 3 am this morning and called WDW dining. We're doing 10 days at WDW this coming August.

And he scores - yes - the Chefs Table at Victoria and Alberts. We've been wanting to do this since reading the review in the Wall Street Journal. He's so excited - it's the only thing he really wanted to do this trip.

That sounds like a great trip! And I totally know what you mean about the Village . . . all those twisty turning streets (just like Rome!) and so unlike most of Manhattan which is on the grid system. When we have been having to actually go to an address below 14th street (instead of just wandering) I have been known to take my trusty fold-out map and use it, which annoys my girls (Mom! You look like a tourist!).

We love Jeckyl and Hydes, by the way. It's fun to interact with the "characters." I had a babysitter once who was an aspiring actor and tried out for a role there . . . she had to improvise all kinds of things (and didn't get the job).
