NIGHT/AFTERNOON/EVENING ALL? see you soon!
If you look at the actual statistics rather than everyone's perception, you will see that New York City is actually safer than where most of the other people on the Dis live . . .
Ok, my turn for a "child gone bad" storyI was the child throwing a fit in the store because my Mom wanted me to stay with HER, but I wanted to go through the store with my Aunt. My Mom had had ENUFF and she popped me on the mouth with her fingers. Mind you, it wasn't a closed fist, it wasn't all that hard or malicious ... just enough to get my attention. It just so happened that it was that time of year when my lips get incredibly chapped (still do every fall to this very day) and when she popped me, my lip started to bleed
There was a woman standing close by that saw all of this happen and when she saw the blood on my lip she "HARUMPHED" pretty loudly at my Mom. My Mom, who was beyond mortified by this time turned to the woman and said, "Lady, another sound out of you and YOU'RE NEXT."

Just reading all the posts about NYC remind me of a story. My sister(Reenieny18) would go down to NY either just the two of us or with her kids! We went everyhere. I don't mind taking the subway at all especially at 2AM in the morning when I was lost and got on the wrong subway and ended up in Hoboken, NJ!!.
We were once on the Today show(Matt Lauer is short but cute!) Then we would go walking, or subway up to FAO Swartz, they have the piano on the floor as in the movie "BIG", of course going to Bloomingdales, Macy's Tiffany and Co., Gucci and of course all the street vendors on the street(we did get a couple of knockoff items), going to TKTS in times square to get tickets to a ot play on broadway for a lot less money. We wnet to Central Park and went into the Plaza hotel(just to use the batroom) that was the only things we could afford to use!
We also have been to the Paramus Mall in NJ. One day I got of work at 3:30 hopped in the car and drove to the Paramus Mall so Doreen could buy a bracelet!! It was a five hour drive from Syracuse to Paramus and we made it, bought the bracelet and turned around to go home and be back at work at 7AM (I worked in Labor and Delivery at the time and you just don't call in when working in that department)!
Even though I live in Virgina I will always be a New Yorker!

OK, this is totally off topic but I have to tell someone who might actually appreciate it....
DH got up at 3 am this morning and called WDW dining. We're doing 10 days at WDW this coming August.
And he scores - yes - the Chefs Table at Victoria and Alberts. We've been wanting to do this since reading the review in the Wall Street Journal. He's so excited - it's the only thing he really wanted to do this trip.
Of course, if you wanted to solely look at statistics, the location with the highest crime rate per capita of ANY municipality in the world would surprise you. The municipality had 492 residents in 2006 and reported 486 criminal cases -- 20 times the corresponding crime rate of its nation.
The municipality: Vatican City.
Brooke's magical moment.............we were waiting behind the ropes to disembark for Castaway. Brooke & I were discussing the clues to find the buried treasure. I had asked officer Bob about clue # 1. He smiled said he wasn't really supposed to say anything. He left, couple min later comes back and asks how many in our party? We told him 2 he said come with me. We went underneath the ropes and out the door to the gangway !! He made Brooke an honorary security officer.Brooke learned how to use the exray machine which she exrayed my bag.
Took a fake gun through and scan our cards to be first ones off the ship for like 5 mins. Can you imagine just having nothing in front of you and the whole Island to yourself? Even for a few min. It was awesome !!! Brooke used the walkie talkie to bridge to get the all clear. Later that day officer Bob came to our cabin and gave Brooke a magical moment certificate. Here are some pictures.

THE BIG ISLAND too close to the coast of Europe,
We tell them whats best, they ignore us, spend too much money and then finally do it our way!
Brings ack good memories must go back, I know London like the back of my hand and tak the kids around mostly walking although I know the underground tube so well.
I find walking so great just to see everything and feel the city, but the kids moan about their feet!
Heck, I could never find anyone in my family on our last cruise!!![]()
Imagine that!!Taking little ones to the World!!!
Hey, I think that he should be very happy that I even have the word rugby in my vocabulary at this point. I knew absolutely nothing about it before he started posting on this thread.![]()

Hello Everyone !
Remember me ?I am the one who used to be in the top 10 but dropped down the um well that doesn't matter now.
I have only been able to read the " ketchups " on page 1.
I wen't to Chicago then came home to get ready for our mother & daughter cruise on the wonder. Lots of yummy pictures to follow in the coming days.![]()
Don't know if it was just this cruise or not but thought I would mention it.........DD just got her passport and we tried to drop it off at guest services to get it stamped, we were told they no longer do that.Brent from GS told us where we could go in the bahamas to get it stamped. Boy was that a experience. Talk about not being friendly. Brent on the other hand well that is another story.
He was the best and we saw him everyday and did something special for DD.
Also my DD had a magical moment on cruise, will tell about that and post pics in a min. Next to my wedding cruise this was the best cruise ever.
They were targeted last time too but stayed out front away from everyone.
Wow! What an amazing memory for you and your daughter. I'm just trying to think about seeing CC without thousands of people on it . . .LOL

I heard on the radio yesterday (Kaiser commercial) that laughing for 15 minutes burns 40 calories, and offers all sort of other healthful benefits.
