It is amazing how people are like that though. I remember getting all kinds of unwanted advice from complete strangers when I would have DS out and about.

My favorite was once at Disney World. My DD, who was nine months, and I were sitting waiting for everyone else who was on Tower of Terror. DD went into a meltdown. When she had a meltdown, she HATED to be held -- she'd kick and scream and just work herself up more. If you left her alone, she'd freak out for 5-10 minutes and then calm herself. So I sat her in her stroller, and was rocking it back and forth. Some woman came over and screamed "Why don't you pick that child up instead of letter her cry. That's child abuse."

I told her loudly if she didn't leave immediately, she would truly understand the meaning of the word abuse. A CM walked over and asked her what was wrong. I told her what I was doing and asked her to keep this woman away from me. The other woman walked away complaining loudly about 'some people'.

DD calmed down as I was talking to the CM.

This reminds me of what happened to us on our cruise - we were also at the buffet and DS thought we were behind him and left, when DH and I noticed we went right out but couldn't find him. I stayed at a table right outside the door and DH went to look for him - about 10 minutes later DS comes from the other side and says, "There you are!" I made him stay at the table so I could go and find DH. Needless to say, that was a scarry 20 minutes or so. We usually set up meeting areas at the park but hadn't thought of it for the cruise. Next time, we are setting a specific area, just in case.

My wife lost our DS10 on the last cruise (the same one who got lost at Disney World). He got on an elevator and my wife and other son got on a different elevator b/c DS10 was not paying attention. My wife went to Oceaneer's Club, where they were going to pickup my daughter, hoping that DS10 had figured it out and gone there after he was not waiting by the elevators.

I was in our stateroom packing and heard a knock on the door. DS10 asked me if Mom was there. I said 'you're supposed to be with her' and he told me the story and I marched him down to the OC to hook up. My wife had been hoping he was smart enough to head to the rooms.

WOW! We have already decided that if it's a boy, we do not want circumcision. I wasn't aware that some hospitals just do it! :scared1:

And that bit about the nurses taking notes?!?! That's a little creepy!

I do know that our state will not let you step foot out of a hospital with a baby until you prove that you have an infant seat, properly installed.

Thanks for all of the information! :thumbsup2
Some of this stuff is just mind-blowing!! (Just when you think you're prepared to become a parent!!!) :lmao:

We did this for ds when he was born because my late FIL was not circumcised and had health problems later in life because of this. My husband watched them perform it to make sure they didn't "take too much off the top." lol!

That is how it feels sometimes! My DH would swear that his work day feels like 1200 hours...lol He is a NYC bus driver. :)

Mary

I have a little sign in my office that says "There are never enough hours in a day, but there are too many in a week".

Too true.

I agree that David and Mary are not going to do so well, but Eric and Danielle? They don't seem to work too well together.

Rob and Amber will probably make it to final 3, along with Danny and Oswald. Those two are a hoot!:rotfl: As for the others, it is really hard to say.

I believe Rob & Amber are going to be targeted. Either hit with a yield or get paired up with some other team at an intersection and it will blow their game.

I am betting on Eric & Danielle simply because they are going to slip through as the team no one considers a threat.

Yes they are!!! When my DD was about a year old we were shopping in Wal-Mart. A lady came out of nowhere and started making a fuss over my daughter and the color of her hair. (She was close to being a baldy but had the cutest curls in the back.) Any way, she kept getting closer and started reaching into her purse. I stepped between her and DD in time to see that she was getting out a pair of scissors!:scared1: She thought that she could just snip a tress of her hair to take to her hairdresser to match.:scared1: I said that she had to be *$&(#*$& kidding me and she still pressed closer to DD. :furious: At this point, my hands were clenched into fists and I was screaming for security to come and get her away from us before an ambulance was needed. Even while being escorted away by the security guard she was still blabbing about what the big deal was.:sad2:

Ok, you win the award for creepiest baby stalker story. Hands down.

I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO BCC THE GROUP EMAILS!!!!

Took you long enough. :stir:

Seriously, I wish you had said you just didn't know how. I thought you meant your system wouldn't let you BCC.

DW wanted me to ask if any single (adult) guys were coming along? DSIL will celebrate her 33rd birthday on 8/31 -- the last night of the cruise -- and DW is looking for someone to perhaps occupy her time (as opposed to fawning over DS)

Well, it sounds like Diane's husband might be available if he doesn't watch his step...

Yes i can relate to that..

greeting from beautiful Sears Tower.. just a quick fly by to say hi.. gotta get back to work.. talk to ya later..

MMM, that sounds so good right now. It is so cold and windy here tonight! I have the hot cocoa in the cupboard, but no fluff. :sad2: It's not the same without!

.

Here you go, sorry it's a little late.

I think I've got early Alzheimer's. The brain is not functioning. I made baked steak....the kind with brown gravy, not tomatoes....and I forgot to make mashed potatoes! We sat down to eat and the boys were just kind of looking at the table.....

I'm losing it, I tell ya.:sad2:

I'm losing it with you. I made turkey fajitas and spanish rice last night. Served the fajitas and forgot the rice sitting on the stove until everybody was just about done. So mine is even worse -- I MADE THE FOOD and still forgot it.

:surfweb: Good morning all!

:yay: DDs back at school today! :yay: And it looks like everyone was chatty last night! 300+ posts to ketchup on! So, I'll be popping back and forth...sorry for any repeat posts!:thumbsup2

Hey sk8ingmom -
I think we're the last two left. And I need to toddle off to bed.

Say - can you check the website? I just went to my link for it and I'm getting some strange "coming soon to this site" message from tripod. Is it me? Or is there a problem?

TTFN!

Is there something wrong with the web site? Why didn't anyone say anything??? :lmao:

I was wondering where she's been... as I read all the pages trying to catch up this evening! I hope everything is okay...

She posted over the weekend that she wouldn't be around much. Someone coming into town, blah, blah, blah, real life things to do. Maybe if we all call her, she'll appear.

Judy! Judy! Judy!

(Did it work?)
