Hi everyone. I am trying to catch up :surfweb: a little and get stuff together for tomorrow's crop. Hope everyone had a good day.

I think in general boys are more cuddly with their moms than girls. Same is true for us, my sister, and many of our friends.....:confused3

Ds will come up and give me a kiss and hug for no reason all of the time. Dd doesn't ever do that. She will really only cuddle early in the morning or at bed time. I want to just grab her and kiss and hug her during the day, and she gets annoyed. I told her the other day that I love her sooooo much and it just gets all "bottled up" inside of me, and I need to let it out. She told me I need to get a bigger bottle! :goodvibes
I think it's just the personality... because my eldest DD was never a cuddly one, maybe as a baby/toddler but not past that stage. She never liked playing with dolls either! (somehow I think the two are entertwined LOL) My son used to be cuddly in a way but he's only 9 and has LONG SINCE decided that kisses and hugs are ewwwww. He'll endure them but makes it known he's only doing it to make me happy and has asked me please not to do that in front of his friends at school! My youngest DD? Total princess cuddly wuggly bear... she's all about the kisses and hugs and lovin's (she also loves playing with dolls and has since she was a baby- see how that works? LOL)

That's looking for the silver lining, BIP! :thumbsup2 :lmao:
Thanks... I've been trying to have a less "glass is half full" outlook on life in general. LOL

I am one of those stubborn people and I am bound a determined to read this post all the way through. I have been so far just a lurker! I just want to let you know that I am here.

So, for now, here is a little bit about my family. We will be on the EB sailing as well, we have 2 connecting category 5 cabins. It is me, DH, DS15, DD13, DS12, DD9, and DD2 (current ages). I just had to say hello!!!!! I am way too excited for a trip so far away. But it is fun slowly getting to know you all.

Now, my history: I was last on the boards the morning of booking day, and have since survived -35 degree temps with schools cancelled etc, weathered 3 nasty snowstorms (another one right now!) and tried to get caught up at work from being on a business trip to Iowa, weeklong Disney Cruise, another weeklong business trip to Canada (for those of you counting, that is 9 different countries/states and 5 different time zones and that was all in a 6 week period.) So, now that I am finally caught up at work and have the kids back in a more normal routine (as normal as it can be with 5 kids), and I want to get in on the fun!

But I have to confess, I am lost! I am so behind. I am not a cruise newbie (been on 4), I am a DIS newbie. So, I will update you as I work my way through the thread. Wish me luck! So here goes, update #1:

I am on post 555 (pg 36 I think).

(My goals is to read more posts than are added everyday! Next update in a few days!)

Poohmom :hippie:
Welcome back!
Pardon me for having no sympathy for you about not keeping up when one of your reasons was A DISNEY CRUISE! Yes, I'm jealous. LOL

Those are AWSOME!!!!! :goodvibes The kids didn't want to go on HM but because they have before we got them on it. ;) At the end DS was saying he was mad and scared to death. The CM at the end of the ride said "then you will be glad that you were scared to death because you are winners." My mind said ~ why are you breaking character like that? What is wrong with you? DH started jumping up & down yelling YEAH We are winners!!! We walked thru the doors at the exit to find a CM there with a fistful of the FPs handing them to everyone coming out. We were the first family to get them.

Cool... I'm not sure I've even heard ot hat!

Maybe you need to move the bed! :lmao: :rotfl2:
Or check on it each night.;)

I'm not sure if the one we have has ever been replaced before. I doubt it. The house was 11 years old when we bought it and we have been here almost 8 years now. Guess I will have to see if it says anything on it. Now I am curious. BRB...

We can't move the bed- the way the bedroom is set up it really is the only place we can put the cali king bed. :(

First pirate for the swabbies in awhile? I think they've got the last few actually...

White was chosen for those that figured it would be extremely Hot on PC day , but you are more then welcome to wear Black if you wish ....I may also be wearing black ...it helps the illusion of a slimmer Captains figure :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:
WHAT?
Listen, if my family is wearing white there will be steam coming out of someone's ears (guess who) if you're in black! You said white for PC day! See why I don't listen to "rules"? Turns out they aren't always set in stone! The nerve.... wearing black when you tell everyone else to wear white!

I'm guessing that you, as a Vegas resident, must spend enough time in our fair city (Los Angeles, that is) to know that only goths wear black in August! Nothing against goths, whom I always find to be the most interesting subjects by far while people watching at Disneyland, but there is a generally a good reason to avoid black at that time of the year.

Thank you... the voice of reason. I've been trying to tell them for awhile that black in August is just CRAZY! Maybe another reason I'm not digging it is because I've never been the goth type..

Well these Pirates be wearing Black ....and August is not that bad in Ca as it is in Vegas ...So maybe we might be considered Goth Pirates ....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: all 600 of us :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:
Except me! ;) I'll be in red remember...

I dunno, I'm fresh out of black eye liner!
:lmao:

I really really REALLY enjoyed the pictures from the past of DL and WDW and stuff... those are so cool! I wish for more! More more more please. LOL
Those were the days of my youth when I was sitting at home wishing and DREAMING of ever going to Disney world.. (or DL) My first time I was 32yrs old! So I never got to see how things were back in the day... so share those pictures! I really liked seeing them... so cool!

Neat story Lisa. Those would be great!

I'll have to work on this, I have fair skin, and it takes many weeks for me to tan. I can only expose myself for short peroids.

I have very fair skin also - like one step above alabaster - and never tan. TG for bronzers and self tanners!

Yes thats the delay tonight, so far so good, its all ok at this time, the doctor says there is still a chance of rejection of the skin graft but, at the moment he is pleased, thank you for asking.

GOOD NEWS.

:woohoo: I am so glad for you all.

Yes, I really feel that I have my plans in place . . . Palermo is a walking around day (and I might try to negotiate a reasonable price for a horse drawn carriage ride near the dock for its scenic value) . . . Naples I will take the Circumvesuviana train to Pompeii and then on to Sorrento . . . Olbia is a beach day (hope to snag a taxi at the port and go to somewhere on the Costa Smeralda) . . .take the train into Rome from Civitavecchia . . . splurge on the car and driver in La Spezia to see Florence and Pisa . . . take the train from Marseilles to Arles (with time to wander near the Vieux Port in Marseilles later in the day) . . . take the #100 bus along the lower corniche from Villefranche to Monaco, then on to Eze before returning to wander Villefranche. Of course I have more details than that, including estimates for each day for how much everything will cost, but that's the overview. How about you?
Your trip sounds wonderful.

Can't tell you exact date but somewhere around the opening in 1955. I am the short one, my brother is the tall one in Adventureland.

Here is another one of the Captain Hooks pirate ship in Fantasyland. Wish that it was still there. They had a Chicken of the Sea restaurant inside that had the best tuna sandwiches.

And another one when I was about 7-8 with Mickey and Minnie.

Great pics!:thumbsup2

That is the root of most of the problems in DH's family. There is a lot of money involved & it brings out the worst in people. His Aunt had the last laugh though. She changed her will so that the friends who helped her when she was suffering with cancer received everything, not family. There were a few things put aside for DD. There has always been one girl per generation in that family up until DD...no matter how many kids were born. Everyone else said that she would be a boy because they didn't make girls. I loved calling FIL to tell him that we had a girl & I had broken the family curse. You don't tell ME what I can or can't do. :thumbsup2 :lmao: Since then we have had another neice join the family so that one is gone for good. ;)

That's all so amazing! I have to say that it still amazes me how some people can act towards one another. By that I am referring to both the good and the bad. HOWEVER, I am focusing most of my attention on the wonderful things that people do for one another in troubled times.

Woo hoo... I think I'm only about 10-11 pages behind and i've read or carefully skimmed perhaps near 1000 postings today. AND I even got some work done today before I started DISing!

I picked up my x-rays and report this afternoon at the end of my work day. Man, my knees look horrible on the inside, actually, they don't look that good on the outside either............:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Report states:

Right Knee Findings:

There is moderate to severe narrowing of the medial femorotibial joint space. There is also sclerosis involving the medial tibial plateau. The medial tibial plateau appears slighty depressed. This may be projectional. There is no joint effusion.

Left Knee Findings:

The patient is status post partial left knee replacement with prothetic components overlying the lateral femoral condyle and lateral tibial plateau. There is moderate-to-severe narrowing of the medial femorotibial joint space. There is osteophyte formation off the tibial spines and off the medial femoral condyle. There is also patellafemoral joint space narrowing.

Not sure, but I think maybe that's why my knees ache so much..........:rotfl2:

What say you Peter???

Now that is dedication! I know you won't read this til, ummm... maybe next year, but I would skip to at least when we actually booked. Welcome!! I have daughters close to your DDs' ages.:goodvibes (maybe I should send a pm!)

I think it's just the personality... because my eldest DD was never a cuddly one, maybe as a baby/toddler but not past that stage. She never liked playing with dolls either! Oh absolutely....it depends on the personality. It's just very funny that it seems to be the trend for so many of the people I come in contact with.

But......my dd loves dolls, and is still not very cuddly....she only likes to cuddle in the morning and before bed. She's also VERY active, so I think it may have something to do with just not wanting to slow down at all during the rest of the day.:confused3

My ds, even at age 11 doesn't care at all if I hug or kiss him in front of friends. I hope that never changes.

I kiss and hug my kids several times each day, because I really believe the day you stop....it's hard to go back. KWIM?

Okay, here goes...

I was so wrapped up in reading this morning that I am going to be late for a very important meeting (I have 15 minutes to get there through the snow!)

Then, I jumped up, got dressed and almost went out the door without my BRA! :scared1:

Okay, GTG, be back later!

PS, thanks for the quick welcomes! I really appreciate it!

Here's my car story for the day ... I was dating a guy that drove a Porsche when I met DH. DH asked me out on a date and I accepted ... when I walked out to his car to go to dinner, imagine my surprise when he walked me over to a YUGO :scared1: Of course there was a rose on the seat of that YUGO, and there had never been any roses in the Porsche :sad2:

Awwww..... :cloud9:
