Yes thats the delay tonight, so far so good, its all ok at this time, the doctor says there is still a chance of rejection of the skin graft but, at the moment he is pleased, thank you for asking.

GOOD NEWS.

That's fantastic, Andrew! :thumbsup2

Its a great way to expand their knowldge far better than school in my mind, I didnt travel much outside the UK until I was 17 then after a skiing trip I was off!

Yours sounds great

It's funny how that trip came about -- not 4 months after my mother died, my dad remarried and moved to the UK!!!!!! I went from living at home with both parents to living completely on my own in less than a year. I had graduated from high school early (at 17) and was in college. So that summer between first and second year at college my father had me come out to visit him, and I took the opportunity to head over to the continent after spending some time with him.

I agree with you that the education one gets from travelling can't be learned in school . . .

My DD is very good at ART, I put that down to all her trips to disney, and also Don Ducky Williams on the last panama cruise ( had to pull it back to this thread).

Remind me where were you in the UK??????

Say 98% odd pain cannot wash hair properly or PE at school. She has very long hair so its a problem, plus she couldnt go on the deep Tube trains in London due to the pressure so I had to take her a round about way.

When my father lived there, he was in Oxford (visiting professor), so I was there quite a bit and then in London as well. When my daughters and I were there two years ago, we were in London, Canterbury, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Stratford-on-Avon, Oxford (got to have tea with the Dean of Christ Church College and see where the real Alice had lived when Lewis Carroll was a professor there!)and the Cotswolds. Of course there are thousands more things in the UK we'd like to go back and do . . .

For those interested in information on Cartagena, there is an article on the port city in the current Conde Nast Traveler magazine. I did not remember it being the setting for the movie Romancing the Stone, but the article remarked it is best known for that movie (or the novels of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, as the article noted, depending upon your point of reference).

ummmm that would be Black for embarkation White for PC day ...Helllooooooo

pirate:

Captain, is it permitted to stay in black for the PC day as well?????? Certainly the white is an alternative to the standard pirate black, not a requirement?

I'm guessing that you, as a Vegas resident, must spend enough time in our fair city (Los Angeles, that is) to know that only goths wear black in August! Nothing against goths, whom I always find to be the most interesting subjects by far while people watching at Disneyland, but there is a generally a good reason to avoid black at that time of the year.

Funny pet story and Funny childhood story:
These go both together. When DB and I were little, we had a cat named Boots. Oh the way we used to 'play' with her drove our parents nuts!!! One day, after spending over an hour to catch her:rolleyes1 , DB and I decided to make her Super Kitty, complete with mask and cape. As we were deciding on her adventure, DMom called us for dinner. Now after all of this hard work, DB and I certainly couldn't just let her go. So, we had a not so bright idea...let's put her in DBs drawer for safe keeping until we were done eating. Deed done, we went and ate. DMom commented how good we were that day and offered to take us to DQ for ice cream. We jumped at the chance and TOTALLY forgot about Boots. That night, DB woke up and went into my parent's room b/c he was hearing noises and was scared.:rolleyes1 They let him crawl into bed and it was a peaceful night, for all but the poor cat. Next morning we go off to school and DMom starts putting away the laundry. She got to the 'magic drawer' and out came a very poofy cat who jumped onto her chest and then ran for the hills. After DMom got over the shock, she noticed what the cat had done in the drawer...all over DBs clothes.:rolleyes1 Boy did we get it when we got home!!!:rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Poor Super Kitty. Did she ever return?

I had forgotten! I will have to re-read Love in the Time of Cholera (which is a lovely romantic story and I just realized is in fact set there).

White was chosen for those that figured it would be extremely Hot on PC day , but you are more then welcome to wear Black if you wish ....I may also be wearing black ...it helps the illusion of a slimmer Captains figure :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You have done some great places there, Oxford is so nice, love browns resturant there, Stonehenge, mistic, Stratford on Avon Shakespears home, great love that, and London, well I know that better than any Disney team park, and I think it is one big theme park.

The saying goes, if you are bored with London, you must be bored with life.

They are doing so much for the Olimpics cost £10 billion!

This is exactly why my Mom went to Staples and bought a box of sticky labels. She is labelling who get what. The three of us know that if we dare fight over something, she will be back to haunt us.

My brothers and I are doing that in my dad's house...he doesn't know about it.:lmao:

This is moving pretty fast this afternoon! Too fast for a girl trying to get some work done!! LOL

But tomorrow will be a light day, so I'll be able to keep up!! :thumbsup2

In the meantime, I'll just have to do my best...

Then count me goth! I wear black in NYC in August, and it's a more humid heat that what you have in LA . . .
