So, in the weird kind of synchronicity that seems to exist in the world, I present the following true story:

My oldest daughter comes home today and says that in her arts class she is going to have to make a puppet and improvise dialogue that the character she is assigned would say if being seen in a session with a psychiatrist (hey, this is Manhattan). Everyone was randomly assigned characters. So I ask her what her character is and she tells me

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!!!!

It's going to be very hard for me not to want to do this one with her . . .

OH MY!!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My husband would never. He doesn't talk much in real life, he certainly doesn't want to type it either!

Yes, I doubt you'll ever see SWMBO posting here, for the same reasons. I know she lurked on the 10-day HC b/c I got in trouble for some things I said, especially about her shoes. I don't think she has started lurking here yet.

I was the Market Day chair person for our school for years. It was miserable. I had a hard time finding someone to take over when I stepped down. Then this lady came in to take over and she was like "if you just tell people you need help, they will gladly help you out" I was like, "let me know how that works out for you"
I still order even though my kids don't go to that school anymore and when I go to pick up she always gives me the evil eye. (wheres crash with the evil eye picture?)
LOL!
Looks like she finally realized she was living in a DREAM WORLD when she made that statement to you eh?

I guess it doesn't change then? My 6th grader has to have the teachers sign his agenda so I know what the homework is and can make sure that it's done. I'm hoping that this will end this year.

My 7th grader has to do that!
As soon as she was out of elementary where they gave papers saying what their homework was each week/etc.- we had "issues". She has ADHD/ODD and she is TERRIBLE at remembering things, organization, etc. Even now her backpack and binder look like a tornado hit them even though I pretty regularly go thru and clean them or try to get her to do it. *sigh*
The agenda helps a lot... otherwise I never knew if she had homework and she'd "forget" (seriously, she wasn't just trying to get out of it- she's an A student and wouldn't try to avoid homework on purpose). Half the time she also forgets to turn in her homework (and at her age they don't remind the kids to turn them in... ugh!) so she is consistently turning in things late- like the next day when the teachers DO finally say whoever didn't turn it in yesterday turn it in now- and she gets 10 to 15pts deducted for this.. so many 90's and 85's that would have been 100's if she'd just turned it in on time! Agenda helps a lot though... helps her to remember.

Mark and I have lived here our whole lives. He grew up in Rochester and I grew up in Royal Oak and Troy. When we married we lived in Rochester Hills and then moved where we are 13 years ago.

Is that great mongolian BBQ place still in Royal Oak? Sweet Lorraines still there? We left about 12 years ago. Dale's parents are still in Imlay City. They have lived there for 50 years--- way before Lakeside....... I understand I am being made to visit this summer.......:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: THE INLAWS!!!!!!!

Hazel is going to look for it tomorrow, she believes it is packed in one of our suitcases with our over the door shoe holder.

awww, that's so sweet! I was only kidding, but it is sweet of her to go to that trouble for us! You guys are so great!

:happytv:

Holy freaky cow!!!! Here I've been skimming through these posts and watching this "AI" show pop up over and over again. And I'd mop around thinking you've all been watching this great sci-fi show on that cable television gizmo that I don't have. Now I put 2 + 2 together and get American Idol and not Artifical Intelligence!!!

:lmao: :lmao:

You can take the Nurse out of the ER, but you can't take the ER out of the nurse.

I don't know.. my 8th grader doesn't remember to bring home anything.. even his homework..
Mine is really good about that. It is the progress reports that he forgets. Even though the grades are good.
LOL!

Yeah I found it quite amusing.

I love the agenda. My kids are really good about coming in and doing their homework as soon as they get home. I don't think in all the years they have been in school that I have taken them back to school because they had forgotten something more than 3 x each. I have a 10th grader and 8th.

I meant DFW area Houston area.......

DFW area but I don't live in one of the bigger cities. For instance I was in FW today but it took me about 45min to get there... a drive I'm used to taking often. (some people might think that's a long drive- it's nothing in Texas LOL) :)

We can no longer do frozen foods for fundraisers. That was our last one & it raised the most money ever for the school. The whole healthy BS they are trying to cram down our throats & all. :( Having people pick up their orders was a PIA though. We were there an hour past the scheduled time and still had 80 boxes. I was in tears trying to call people to show up. I spent the next day trying to reach people. :headache:

Well, this wasn't just cookie dough, but also had French Bread Pizzas, Cheesecakes, Soft Pretzels, Cinnamon Rolls and a few other items. This fundraiser is for the high school musical. No whole healthy BS here, that's for sure!!! :rotfl2:

I'm outta here for now, time for dinner. Mostaccioli, Italian Sausage, garlic bread.........
and in this house we call the other stuff "bisgetti".

We had baked ziti without the meat. I didn't remember until after I had already started making it last night that I should have kept the shrimp & feta for tonight. DH took out the meatballs when he got home & heated them up in the microwave. I don't think his family ever did the no meat thing during lent.

ARe you towards Weatherford area or Grapevine area or .....??????

Stop teasing me!

I know that we will never be able to enjoy CC like that again. We had close to 2 hours both days on our 12/9 DD with very few people off the ship. It was beautiful and peaceful even on the family beach. :goodvibes

Unless, it is online or on vacation.:rotfl: :rotfl:
