Hello everyone .. First I want to thank you all for your kind words. I probably overreacted a bit, but I have problems speaking up for myself (I think it comes from being the baby girl in a family of four brothers and one older sister) and felt that I needed to at this point while the mood was with me. At the time, I felt like I was back in highschool and I really wanted to join the Cool group and couldn't quite get my foot in the door. This was my attempt to get that foot in and belong! ( BTW. You good folks are the cool group. You seem like a fun group of people that I could really get along with and would be honoured to get to know.)

After all your kind words, I am starting to feel like I fit in. I will follow up with the Picnic thing and I would love to work with the committee for a DIS meet.

Lisa .. I very sorry to here about your husbands Grandmother .. Please offer him my sympathy.

By the way ... My name is Mary Jane ... but I have always gone by MJ ... Just couldn't get away from the nickname.

Hello

Okay ride review, the new Nemo ride 10, the new Monster's Inc laugh floor 5 (though the kids liked it more then me) That Mummy ride at Universal 10!

Thats all for now!

MJ, I am the baby in our family too. 4 brothers and 1 sister, all older. One brother passed away when he was little. I am the baby by 9 years. My oldest brother is 20 years older than me and my youngest is 9 years older.

BTW, my DD's friend is Melissa Jean and she goes by EMMJAY.

I don't know how many of you guys are into the whole pin trading thing...I, myself am a bit of an addict (according to DH). In any case, I thought I'd post the DCL pin cruise info for this November.

Thanks! That is a cool pin! :thumbsup2

Ahhhh well scratch that about them checking for meth in this case... A coworker was telling me about her sister who is the model parent for which laws like this were designed! <caveat> I'm not casting aspersions on her morality or ethical standards, but I am questioning her worth as a fit parent</caveat> Example: Suppose you're her neighbor and you are in the back yard pruning the tree. Since an adult is "present" it becomes your job to watch her kids while they play in the back yard! No, she wouldn't have told you any of this :sad2: Prime example: sent the kids to school, no lunch. School calls and says they forgot their lunch/lunch money. She replies "I thought you people provided that!!?" and gets mad because they interrupted her sleep!

UGH! :sad2: Of course I felt terrible when the kids came home & DD asked me why I didn't pack a sandwich in her lunchbox. :guilty: There were PB crackers and other things for her to eat but I guess that I was so distracted this morning trying to contact my ILs to find out about DH's GM and getting the kids out the door on time that I missed that.

Fairy Godmother ... I'm not really the baby of the family, just the baby girl ... I have two older brothers, one older sister, one younger brother who was always the cool one in the family (he had more girls calling him than I had girlfriends call me) and the youngest one had Down Syndrome. My youngest brother is 41 now. He wasn't supposed to live past 2 years old, so I would say he is a success story ...

By the way ... Drum roll please :rockband:

I'm a DIS veteran now ...Post number 500 !!!!

party:

I hope I got this right, as I will be very embarrassed if I'm still a Mouseketeer ETA - No embarrassment ... I'm a veteran!

Wow, isn't that interesting. My brother that died when he was little died of Down syndrome. You are truly blessed to have your brother with you to this day.

Congrats on you 500 post.

Oh, Lisa! That's the pits. At least she had plenty of food, even if it wasn't the sandwich she was expecting.

Last week, I told my kids that they could buy lunch because it was pizza day. They were SO disappointed when they discovered that lunch was tuna sandwiches. I guess there was a menu change due to weather related closings. They were some HUNGRY kids at dinnertime.

I'm sorry to hear about your brother ... Chris is a very special man. We took him to Disney in 2000 and he still goes on about it. He keeps showing us a picture of It's a small World and we all have to sing the song. He uses sign and we ask him about Disney he signs an airplane flying and says Mouse while nodding. I really think he wants to go back.

Here some smileys that remind me of Lisa that I hope give her a much deserving smile today:

Thank you. :goodvibes This one especially made me laugh. I have had to balance the lamp more than once...wont have a glass pharmacy shade in the house again. :rolleyes1 That was from my BK apt days.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words, good wishes, prayers, & :grouphug:. It is sad to think about what is lost. I wish that the kids could have known her before she started suffering from alzheimers. This was DH's last GP. I actually don't know if one of my GMs is still alive but I was brought up to despise them so there is no loss for me there. The kids only have DH's parents and with MIL so ill, I know that they wont be able to have a lot more time with her. I have learned that family is what you make it and those who have adopted us over the years and shared their hearts with our family are valued friends. DD has always called her Godmother "Gramma Smith." She is all about what a GM can be. The kid's favorite aunt & uncle truthfully are not related to us. They both went thru school with DH and our kids are the best of friends. Life may give you a bunch of lemons but if you look for it, you can make your life very sweet elsewhere. :goodvibes

I know it might sound wrong, but what if there are those of us who aren't intending to go to DL before the cruise?

There is nothing wrong with that. :) I know that we are not planning to be at DL that Saturday but if others will be & would like to get together for lunch with this, that is an option for them. Noone is going to be at every event onboard the ship either. Who ever would like to go is welcome...but nothing is manditory. :thumbsup2

Oh, and did I mention that I did this in front of the Scooter Shop where I bought the bike? :rolleyes1 The owner was standing outside with a potential customer at the time. I took my eyes off the road, hand off the handle bar and waved hi:wave2: He was the first one to me. And now I'm getting the Pink Tink ready to consign into the shop so I can get a Bigger bike:banana:

OH NO!!! Wonder if the customer bought a scooter.

Congrats! I should be there very soon too, I'm one of those who will probably have more posts on this thread than in the 5 years I've been on the DIS boards :rotfl:

A pirate & a sailor were at a bar in Tortuga. The sailor looked over & noticed the pirate had a peg leg, a hook & an eye patch. The sailor asked the pirate, "How'd you get that peg leg?" The pirate replied, "An alligator bit it off." Then the sailor asked, "How'd you get that hook on your arm?" The pirate answered, "I was fighting in a gruesome sword battle & I got me arm cut off." The sailor then asked, "Well how'd you get that eye patch?" The pirate mumbled, "A seagull pooped in it." The sailor asked in amazement, "How could seagull poop do that?" Finally the pirate grumbled, "It was the first day with me hook!"

I've had a very L-O-N-G, got alot done, but feel like I didn't accomplish a thing, ever have one of those days???

I'm sitting here falling asleep in my Lazy Boy.

I have several of those days every week. Yesterday I did the laundry, ironed the curtains, had to dust the window frames & the blinds before I could put them up, ironed the other clothes, put the mounding basket of clean clothes away, put away the iron & board...and the house didn't look any different than it had before I started on everything. :sad2:
