Home from San Francisco....we had beautiful weather and a great time!!

Had a blast looking at all the Pirate gear in what seemed like every other store!

Glad you made it back and the weather ws good , actually my Sweet Melissa is heading there this friday with her Mother for the weekend

Nope...those are oooooold tags. Long before DCL thought of taking the Magic to CA the first time. I'd like to think it was all MY doing! (yeah, right...)
Almost time for a NEW tag though....... I just am not clever enough, I guess.

Wow, what a small world!
I watched the video there of the lookalike contest. Now granted they didn't capture the winner there (and your friend got 2nd place, ofcourse you know that) but your friend really did well. I mean he didn't just dress up and look kinda like CJS, he had the actions and the voice/speech down as well!

However, when I looked at the still shots in the gallery of that contest, where it shows 1st/2nd/3rd place winners... I can see probably why that guy won first over your friend. He just "looks" more like JD in the face, than your friend. And you can't do anything about that- you can be dressed exactly like CJS and talk like him and act like him- but you can't mold your face to look more like him, yanno? What a bummer he didn't win, but 2nd place is nothing to laugh at either! Very cool that this is the friend you talked about!

The funny thing is the guy that won is actually in AWE - I would tell you about the scene but it would give away one of the good parts of the film ...But lets just say this , He is playing Jack Sparrow ..LOL And Toby got a great deal out of that thing in New York ...The toy company zizzle that makes all the POTC toys hires him to go to a bunch of different places to premote ...

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying the guy that one first place is playing jack sparrow in the new film coming soon? I thought JD was playing CJS in all the films?!?
But that's great that Toby got a deal out of it. I was thinking just the $2500 and the toys seemed like not that great of a deal.... that sounds much better and I'm sure he does a great job playing CJS to promote the toys and such.

Really? Did you look at the still photo of all 1st/2nd/3rd place winners? Toby is in the middle. Like I said, he looks a LOT like CJS, is dressed exactly like him, acts and speaks like him- but just looking at the photo- the guy that won first place just looks more like JD than Toby does. That's the only reason I can see that he might win first place, but ofcourse we didn't get to see if he also acted/spoke exactly like CJS like Toby did!

Yeah, you are right. I have no idea how his (1st place) CJS mannerisms were. And I can see both of them looking so much like CJS, just each in different ways, if that makes any sense. LOL
I really liked that video, I am going to show it to DS14, he loves POTC lookalikes.

Lil Grumpy---yes my daughter can also be a pistol. She has 2 older brothers wrapped around her little finger. She truly is so funny and cute though....

We went through infertility for both of my sons.....We thought we were done and then as I always say......God gave me the best blessing of my life.....a blessing I totally did not know I wanted. I wanted to die when I was pregnant at 40. Much harder than in my 30s. Blake has been the most wonderful surprise however. Goes to show all that stress of infertility and then when you aren't even trying........mini wench

Well after losing 3 we persued help for infertility doctors. We were even injected with each others serums because they thought that it was an immunological thing. Well on our 4th try we got Madison. DW as 40 at that time. Well we tried again for a sibling but lost another 3. We filnally gave up and thought the game was over. Well, when DW was 44 she informed me that she was pregnant again. We kept thinking that this was not going to happen and kind of dissmissed it. Well Austyn had other plans and never did go away. We were shaking our heads in the delivery room saying that God had a plan for this little girl. She is a very special girl and don't know how we could have experienced life in the same way without her.

just checking in here... if anyone knows... can they PM me with a really really brief comment or explanation as to which computer processor is faster or better... the Celeron 356 coupled with 512K ram or the Pentium 4 631 coupled with a 1MB ram. I had to choose bewteen the two fo these and had no idea which was better. Although I am more or less "set" ... I was curious what anyone "in the know" thought.

Post it here if it's within 3-6 pages of this posting I'll probably see it - if not then I'll probably not reach it. So please PM me if that is the case.

My spouse and I had a similar issue with trying to start a family. We've been best friends more or less together for 22 years now... engaged at about the 8th year, then married at 10 - now 12 years married with a 5.9 year old and a 3 year old. SO this means we conceived the older one about 7 years ago. And this older one was the unexpected pregnancy AFTER we had totally given up.

Yeah... totally given up.... You see... we had been "trying" for about 4 years with no luck. My business took me on the road something like 60-70% of the time - 7 days a week the whole year. So if we did the fertility thing she would have needed injections daily for a number of weeks - right? So - she sort of decided she didn't want to go through with that. Plus being a size zero petite - she always got wierd or all too often she would get EXAGGERATED reactions to medications ... so she was also leary of the side effect adominishments. SO we were settled on NOT doing the fertility enhancement approach. And after adjusting my travel to be home when I was supposed to be home... and after watching the proverbial clock tick along... and after trying all the girlfriends' advice on how to enhance our chances... IE every wives tale or mother's clue - we exercised in pursuit of a child the usual way... and we still had NO LUCK AT ALL!

That left us in a condition 7 years ago where we had given up totally - physically and emotionally... and we were planning on adopting a child from China. being Chinese ourselves made it an easy and transparent consideration. It was then when we were planning the adoption... lining up the details that my spouse started screaming urgently for me to run over to the bathroom... where she asked me urgently if I could see the little line on this strip of paper... and as I stared at it she was mutterring that it was as dark as a line should be. Myself - being generally clueless about such matters I mutterred - "yeah I see it" and I turned to leave... and she smiled and admonished me to pause and ... still I was confused... just like when she asked if I had a ring after I asked if she would marry me. And then she said we're gonna have a child!

At that moment we started an excited conversation about the chances of losing this one - and trying again since now we knew the "plumbing was working". Or so we suspected as we still had to see our OBGYN to confirm we were expecting and needed an ultrasound.

The rest is history.... sleepless nites walking with a feverish or finiky child... and all those cherished moments when our kid(s) experience something new and wonderful with us!

Well... the DIS system is about to shut down to refresh = so I'll just leave this where it's at for now.... I seriously doubt I'll be up when the DIS system returns on line...
