Did you book any rooms in Ca yet? I didn't think they would take the booking so early.

Hi .. After reading above that some folks booked HoJo's I went to look on their website. It allowed me to enter the Aug 2008 dates, but when I went to book, it came back with 07 dates. I too thought this was kind of early to book, but looks like people might start grabbing them up!

The first day of school for the 8yr old, the kids were bundled outside the school in winter coats, hats, mittens etc. It was in the 60's. My kids, being from NY and temp in the teens were loving the heat wave. What a sight

I agree, I don't know what our plans will be but I don't think we will do DL. I think we might fly in Sat and stay overnight. Don't know the logistics of airport to hotel to ship. I think if we are not planning DL, I may look for hotel near the port.

Saw it all, we recorded it since we were out. I knew it would end right at that momment though, being Friday and in the middle of sweeps. I couldn't always tell who was who though, may have to watch it a few more times to figure it all out, who's doing what.

I also don't know which will be the best flight at that time as well.But my DH is prob not wanting to do any parks as he will be focused on the cruise.

May sound nuts ... but one of my must do before I die is visit LA ... I really want to see the Hollywood sign, so I'm thinking of going down a week before? Not sure yet ... I really don't want to start planning my 2nd cruise until after my first one Go figure eh!

Another goal of mine is to try and visit all the Disney parks .. Been to WDW and will be at DLP this summer, so maybe I can scratch DL off my list! Would be nice. I 'ld hate to go all the way down there and not visit! I've looked into the Citypass and it is a good deal, seeing as I could get one free with Airmile points!

I don't know.I'm going to have a real problem coordinating all this time off at once. The co only lets you bid on one week at a time and then the second round. Altho most of the time Aug is an open month. Which surprised me. My Ann, b-day and sons bday are all with in a week and I always take that week off.My last day of week is Wednesday and if we flew out Thurs would give us time, but I'm still onthe fence on this one.

I booked Howard Johnson Anaheim. Not a DL resort. Too expensive for our blood- we want to save the money for the cruise! it really depends on how things "go" this year whether we'll be able to even afford everything that the cruise involves (plus a few days at DL because we can't pass up probably the ONLY time we'll go there... well I've been there once but it didn't count- I was almost 9mo pregnant, there alone on business at the time, and only walked around in awe for a couple hours- rode nothing, bought nothing, and did I mention only a couple of hours?!?) Jeff can have really good years with lots of overtime, big bonuses, etc- and then he can occasionally have "not so good" years and we're a little tapped out at the moment what with buying a new house, bigger mortgage payment, etc. Yanno? So we'll have to give up the thought of staying at GC.

I called around some of the hotels I had on a list someone here gave me (sorry for not remembering who it was!) :

I'm sorry. I can't remember which ones would let you book at this time and I already threw the paper I had away. All I did was make scratch notes of prices and all I remember is Howard Johnsons was the cheapest.

DL resorts wouldn't even give me prices but I looked online for august 2007 and it was too expensive for this trip.

HoJo's is really nice. It's walkable, the rooms are really large, and they have the best offsite pool. The only drawback is no continental breakfast and not all rooms have microwaves. Not such a big deal for most people, but when prices are about the same, those 2 little perks will bump somebody higher in my book.

I'm so faaaaarrrrrrr behind!!!!! I'm still 90 pages behind and I know that by the time I'm home from work tomorrow it'll be more than double!!!

Went to the parks DCA and DL on V day. Wasn't too crowded. Had a lot of fun with a couple friends.


I too Love Amazing Race, since the beginning. My favorites are Team Cha Cha and Kevin and Drew. I am sorry that the hippies are gonna be on, they were fun. I love Phil!!!

I'm on a mission to see all the parks too. It caught on during the 50th anniversary for DL. I was going to hit them all during that celebration. Well some things came up and I didn't make it to Paris, then they go and open up in China on me! But I did get visits in to DL, WDW and Tokyo Disney.
