Okay, now that the Pirate Run for 22000 has ended and we're nowhere near 23000 hopefully this post won't get lost. Now let me try to catch up on the last few days.
did you guys hear... a post on another thread says that there was a Cat 9 on the EB repo avail on the disney.com website ealier this evening. its gone now...
Run out and buy a lottery ticket, the Pirate Gods are with ya. Congrats.
Thanks for all of the wonderful welcomes from the other night. I didn't realize how lucky I was until I read all the comments. And I think this was better than a lottery ticket anyway.
Kimberly- I'm so glad you were able to get a room! It's interesting that rooms were made available when most of us don't even know what room we're in yet. If they have openings for more bookings, surely they aren't OVERBOOKED still? Did you book with a room or gty? Are you going alone?
I sure hope this means that they aren't overbooked. That would really stink! As of right now I am booked with a cat 9 gty. I hope to move to a lower cat if I can for $$ reasons since there is noone else in my cabin. But I'm definately not going alone - I'm going with 430 of my closest Disney freaks, I mean friends. (Oops, Freudian slip.) Now hopefully in the next 18 months I'll be able to find a roommate - either a friend I already know or someone I meet here on the DIS. I would prefer to not pay for a cabin on my own. The final bill is going to kill me.
Drinking and education should not be mixed.
The days of Snakebites, Alabama Slammers and T-Kill-ya shots are long over. It's beer and wine anymore with an occasional Konk Kooler or Painkiller tossed in. It's not like I can't hold my liquor as I get older. I just prefer to be able to hold my head up the next day.
I had to put these 2 quotes together because drinking was the only way I got through my education but now for the life of me I can't figure out how I survived it. I must have put my Fairy Godmother through the wringer back in those days.
Hi all ... Just wondering if there are any other Canadians out there. I need to have someone on my side when you all tease me for saying eh!!! ...
This got me laughing because I was wondering if I was going to have anyone on my side when I'm being teased for saying y'all. It doesn't seem like there is anyone else here from the south. Then I saw this line of discussion:
I don't think that pirates have southern accents.

Ye might work better than ya.
This one does.
(Thank Goodness for BBB!)
If it was southern, wouldn't it be TAKE WHAT YA'LL CAN?
No, it would be "Take What Y'ALL Can". Typical Yankee, can't even say "Y'all" right...
Depends on how southern you are. Some people in my family would say "Yuns take whut ya can." Ask me for the pronunciation later.
My life stories... mostly boring.

Never engaged. Never married. No sick or injured kids. But 6 nieces and nephews usually keep me busy.<ahhhhh>
Jennifer, it sounds like you and I have very similar (mostly boring) life stories. We can share the better ones over beer tastings. Never engaged. Never married. No sick or injured kids. . . of my own (explain in a minute). But
7 nieces and nephews keep me busy.
They were cutting up ads and gluing them down. She CLAIMS she was 'shaking tape' off her X-acto knife. All I know is the knife came flying across the room and stuck into my arm. I still have the scar.
I didn't know her at the time. I was pretty mad and she was apologetic. We got to know each other after that and I tutored her in Calculus. (See, I am not as dumb as I look.) We dated on and off for three years before we moved in together.
Ahhhh, the 'ole shaking tape off the X-acto knife trick. Works every time
They never wrote about this one in any of my dating manuals!! Maybe now that I know the strategy I'll be able to find someone and I won't be single by the time we sail!
I'm going to see The Lion King on stage in June!!!
Someday I will see a show on Broadway.
I love those old movie houses -- we used to always go to Broadway shows at the Fox in Atlanta.
... as for Lion King... cool!!!
... we're gonna catch WICKED in May ...
The Lion King and Wicked are 2 of my FAVORITE Broadway shows!! I know I don't live in NYC so it's totally not the same experience. But I actually usher at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta so I've seen these shows and many, many more for free. Although I actually also paid to see Lion King and Wicked because they were so good. You are going to LOVE those shows!!
There isn't a list yet but when the printer is all set to go with the design I will let everyone know.
Lisa, I know a long time ago someone asked about whether the shirts will be available as tank tops (white and black of course) as well as regular t-**** but I never saw an answer. Will we have to do those as iron-ons or will we be able to order them?
so my question is: what is everyone here's occupation??
I make drugs.
Seriously, I'm involved in the R&D side of the pharmaceutical industry. I'm in NJ. What else am I suppose to do? Waste disposal?
Isn't this a great combo? Kathy makes drugs and I push them on children. We'll make for a great pair going to Cartegena. Seriously for me, I'm a clinical pharmacist in a pediatric ICU. So see, I do have plenty of sick and injured kids, unfortunately. Wait, let's focus on that I have plenty of healing kids - yeah, that's much better. I don't want to be a downer.
Occupations:
Myself : Full time Pharmacy student
Part time Pharmacy tech at Target
Good luck Mike! Let me know if I can help with any of your peds questions.
Oy! I think I am about 3000 posts behind. Not as bad as thought being away for more than two days. Apparently I had an ovarian cyst that burst so I was in the ER on Tuesday night. Feeling almost back to normal today.

Now to try and find where I left off....
So sorry and so glad to see that you're back to yourself so quickly. Makes me feel like my "little" migraine that had me down Tuesday was nothing at all. (Yes, BBB, apparently I spoke too soon about my wonderful migraine-preventing medicine.)
I totally agree! Pets that are found, rescued, come from the humane society, etc. are fantastic
Me too. Here's a pic of my little "angel."
Her name is Kitty. Hey, don't laugh. Her previous owner named her. I got her at 2yo from the pound and was just too lazy to change the name.
Well, now that I've taken an hour to write this message I'm probably 12 pages behind again. I've just got to get myself out of the "lurker's" mindset!
