OK, so here's mine.

We were living in Kodiak, Alaska at the time. DH apparently had these grand plans of sending me on a scavenger hunt in the state park across the street from his house to find my ring. However, this was Kodiak in the spring (lots & lots of rain). Oh, and his ship was leaving for 3 months soon. So he made reservations at the nicest restaurant in Kodiak (the one that requires nice jeans!) as a plan B. So it came down to plan B. He knew that a Jimmy Buffet CD was in the rotation at the restaurant. He waited for Boomerang Love got on his knee and proposed. We're both Parrotheads & the song very much describes our dating relationship - always coming back to eachother. (Now there is a story for later in the thread!)

The funniest thing is that as soon as he proposed, we went into the hallway to call our parents before it got too late (pre cell phones & a 4 hour time difference). Well, DH had brought the box with both rings in it so I could see them together. When he proposed, he put the engagement on my finger, but when we left the table to make the phone call we left my wedding ring sitting on the table!!

That was Saturday night. Monday morning he got on a ship bound for Russia for 3 months. We were engaged for 6 months & only spent 15 days together.

We were married on my 22nd birthday (another story). 12+ years ago.

It gets better. My DH's uncle (father of the garder cousin) said to my mother, "Your kids are all a bunch of hoodlums" so she took her shoe off & started hitting him over the head with it. When my siblings were getting arrested she was trying to run after them so my Maid of Honor was trying to hold her back so my mother kept hitting her over the head with her pocket book. My mother is certifiable...no doubt about it. :sad2:

OK, now I really want to drink wine with you!

sk8ingmom- I assume you mean the wedding ring was still there when you returned to the table- sure hope so! (and how lucky if that is the case!)

Okay now here's some more questions:

The marriage you are in now- is it your first?

and even if it isn't, how long have you been married to the one you are married to now?

:)

Second ( and LAST) marriage. Will be 20 years of marriage this coming October, together 22 years.

First for both of us, will be 17 years this year. Both of us were old maids that found each other at 34.

Good Roger......Its turning colder by the minute here. Tried to go to Sea World today but unfortunately the day went by way too fast and we never got there
BTW I miss your picture at the bottom....

How about yourself?

First marriage for both of us and it will be 15 years on March 14 since we got married on Maui.
