i am not really a wine drinker but i enjoyed our wine/cheese meet on the Dec cruise. My DH's brothers have given us bottles of wine the last couple years and we've never used them or had a place to keep them (they really got shoved to the back of the pantry.)

Two weeks ago DH and i found a cute little wine rack at IKEA for 8 bucks or so. It holds nine bottles. At least i have a place to display our bottles now as they wait to be drank.

I'm not much of a wine drinker either, but I've been known to toss back a Mimosa or two or four or.........

Oh, and I like Cheese...

and I like Cake too sk8!

Well, DW just finished filing her claim for lost luggage and her coworker is almost done. I'm amazed that they managed to lose luggage when the plane never left the airport!

Dinner's only pizza tonight. I wasn't expecting her to be home. But I do have brownies in the oven and a cold bottle of champagne. I know she'll need a drink.

Great Relay theme!! You'll love doing it. Our family has participated for 10 years now. It's a lot of fun, but really moving and emotional too.

MIL has walked in it for the past 4 years when she is feeling up to it. She has had stage 4 colon cancer for over 6 years. Diagnosed in 8/01. First tumor removed 9/11/01. She has had 3 more removed since, had chemo treatments constantly, 2 courses of radiation, and now has a drainage tube for her kidney which is shutting down due to the last tumor cutting off her own drainage tube. IDK how she keeps fighting it.

Holy moly! Y'all are the chatty-est bunch of DIS cruisers I've ever had the joy to cruise with! I posted somewhere back in like 1052 late last week, and now we're in the 1300s! I'll never catch up!

I did go back and see many lovely welcome aboards, which I appreciate. This is the busy time at my work (I work at a university, and I organize housing for approximately 8,000 summer guests who stay in June and July), so I just don't have time to read if I'm not at home. And at home, well, I have a sick husband with a headache that won't go away..today he went in for a Head CT so they can try to figure out what is going on. He's sleeping now, so I thought I'd slip online for a few.

Anyway, I'll be in and out, but I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi all ... Just wondering if there are any other Canadians out there. I need to have someone on my side when you all tease me for saying eh!!! ... Come on you know you're going to say it at least once on the cruise.

Lisa .. I know you have been working really hard on the website, by the way it looks great ... thank you, but do you think you could add state (or province in my case) to the list ... It would be nice to see how many states and countries are represented.

That's AMAZING! I know way too many people who would of given up at the point of diagnosis - including my MIL.

Yes...that made up for the way he asked me...though he never really asked a question. LOL! We were walking and talking about the money that he was finally being awarded from our move here after an attorney had to get involved because the lovely person at the base here didn't like people getting paid by the weight of the move & milage so he changed DH's orders after the fact. OY! What a headache. Anyhow he told me that he wanted to give me some of the money since I had helped with the move...that was in 1/95 for anyone keeping track ...and I told him to buy something for the house. He then said that he had been thinking of buying a ring with some of it....and kept walking! I couldn't believe what I had heard. I kind of screeched ARE YOU SERIOUS? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He said forget it but I told him no. He asked Well? I told him that I hadn't heard a question. We ended up walking the rest of the way home not saying much. I think that we were both in shock. I started to make dinner & he went in to watch TV. I stopped & went in and asked him if we were really engaged...like could we tell anyone? He said that he needed to eat something first because he wasn't feeling so well. We called our parents after dinner...then of course the entire office knew when I went in the next day...along with anyone else I happened to run into.

All these romantic stories are making me feel inadequate (hmm, women making me feel inadequate -- methinks there be a theme in there).

I 'proposed' to SWMBO (my one and only proposal) in the 3rd street tunnel under Interstate 75 in Atlanta. We'd been living together for about six months and always knew we'd get married when we graduated college, and we were discussing where we would live after we got out of school and plans for the fall and I said 'we probably should pick a date for the wedding'. She stopped and asked me if I was serious and I was like 'um, yeah. Let's go back and look for a good date'.

She tells people I never got down one knee. I tell her we were in a grimy pedestrian tunnel underneath an Interstate. I love her, but not enough to get down on my knee in there.

MR Did you lose power too???? Db & Dsil were without until about noon. She was starting to get a lil chilly when the power came back on.


Not too much snow here, just very slushy and slippery. A BIG MESS!!!!!! Db said we got more in SI than you got in Old Bridge. The called him into work at 5am (today is his regular day off) He was more than happy to oblige...got paid something like 18hrs for a few hours work.
