Good night all. Happy Shoveling for those in my neck of the woods.
Hey...
... the funny stuff should not be affected by restraint against "fluff"... and may I say anyone else is welcome to fluff the thread as much as their heart desires. As - I will admit that from time to time I may feel like goin' nuts and posting fluff a bit too... sometimes. But for now I do want to let some other folks have some posting space - I've been a "hog" with 900+ posts and some of my stuff has clearly been fluff to creep up on "00" when we were 15 away. That's fun - but maybe not so hot all the time.
I say .... ther should be NO RULES when we get close to the "000" and especially "0000" postings. It's TAKE WHAT YOU CAN with no footnotes... and dare I say... there will be blood running over keyboards right after we all sprint for the 100,000th posting. That might come to pass in less then 320 days if we average 250 postings a day.... yeah... ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND. The summaries every 500 postings are gonna need a summary every 10,000 on that! What a hoot, eh?

HI All --
Took a day off to get some work done . . .LOL Seems like you pirates having been busy partying without me.
What do you think about buying shipboard credit for DH for Valentine's Day.He's always tough to buy for any holiday. Thought it would be cool. Does anyone know if Stateroom credits are transferrable later? Just in case . . .
Thanks a bunch

Crash & everyone...the chatting that we can do before the cruise helps us to build a sense of community here as we get to know about each other. Over the next 18 months we are going to share a lot with each other. That isn't going to be limited to just pure planning posts so we can still joke around with each other. The thread is going to be huge no matter what. I have a tally of 429 people just in our immediate families...NOT counting all of the friends & family members traveling with us. That many people are going to generate a lot of posts. It is the fact that the numbers were being pushed up by so muchtalk that many were concerned that it was adversely affecting the view of some of those trying to decide if they should jump into the fire & join in. We have been told that is is overwhelming...and I agree with that even as someone who has read/skimmed over every single post on the thread from the beginning.

I know that many of us have been involved on much smaller cruise meets threads. I can only speak for myself, but on our last cruise we developed strong bonds with our fellow DISers as we prepared for our cruise over 18 months. We were there for each other thru illness, death, births, struggles and challenges. I know that personally that group helped me get thru a very long year with DH gone for 10 1/2 months working on his graduate degree. On the cruise we did connect more with those who had kids the same ages as ours but we did reconnect with everyone in the evenings at dinner.
Having so many people join in at the beginning of the thread's existance has been mind boggling. It usually starts out with a couple & grows as the cruise gets closer. This group's size is getting intimidating even to me so I can understandd someone who hasn't been as involved in the boards before being hesitant to join in. I hope that everyone feels comfortable enough to join in and say hello. There are many things listed on the first page that people have come forward to help with. If there is something that you would like to do that isn't on that list PLEASE contact me and I will be more than happy to introduce it to the group. This could be a group tour in a port booked outside of DCL. Everyone's input is welcome.![]()
Again I will explain what I meant by the word "fluff" was posts with NOTHING in them- but a smilie or discussing the run for minis/etc. I did NOT mean posts with jokes, chatting, having a good time and making funnies, etc. I meant fluff as in fluff= nothing of ANY merit in the post whatsoever except to post to get closer to the mini.
We are not looking at the word fluff in the same way so I will not use that word again so there won't be any miscommunication.
Your funny stuff, images, etc. is not what I would consider "fluff in the run for minis", atleast not in my opinion! We enjoy those posts!![]()
So - what amounts to a "fluff" post? I would like to acknowledge that if we toned it down a bit then we might have a better flow here - and it would make for a better community over the next 18 months. I actually decided this past weekend to lay off a bit - as I was getting overtaken in total count - and it just wouldn't end until someone gave in - so I decided to lay off and revert to quality in my posts. Hence I have dropped to maybe a dozen or so a day in the past couple of days. And my posts had one lengthy or time consumptive one a day - generally. The recoloring of the Captains' R/C plane took me a while to make - and the travel idea by Train a couple days ago took me a while to create too.
So - maybe we should knock off the sprint to 20,000. We know what is possible if we get enuf of us into a silly "spreading" mood. And that is not very attractive to new folks looking in on our community here.
With that in mind - I'm going to drop a couple notches in intensity - and resume the posture I took a couple days ago. No "fluff"... just real replies where I feel they are warrrented. 'K?![]()
Good for Kimberly!!
I noticed today that the WB repo is also a sellout... I have a feeling that the 2009 Repo will cost quite a bit more than the 2008. The demand is totally unreal!
2) What are you having/HAD for Dinner tonight? McDonalds
I so totally agree about clothes for boys! I only have one child - DS7 - and since there are almost no girls anywhere else in the family either, I almost never get to shop in the huge girl sections. Always stuck in the tiny boy secions which is totally boring with everything in brown, navy blue or black. Do they think boys don't like color? What is wrong with Red, Orange, Green, bright blue, etc?
This is "spirit" week as DS's school and tomorrow is supposed to be mis-match day where they wear clothes that clash. Since ALL his pants are either jeans, khaki colored or brown (no other options being available) how on earth do you have anything clash with that? I'm thinking I'll have to layer him with a red turtle neck (all others are grey, navy blue or white!) and dig out a bright colored T-shirt that clashes. Of course, that means I have to force him to wear the turtle-neck shirt and practically rip his ears off getting it over his head!I always buy them at least 1 size too big and its still a struggle to get them over his head...

So is a post consisting solely of a picture of a jar of fluff a "fluff" post or not?
