I see there is a thread in the main forum re GTY's on this cruise, Has anyone had a GTY changed to an assigned room?

Well, let me just go and check on that right now....maybe I am the winner of the Golden Ticket today!popcorn::

If you are down by Mismaloya (sp?) Beach, the water is much clear (at least the last time I went to PV). If they do them down there, you may be fine.

In looking at the one I posted for ACA, it looks like it is in a small pool like facility. Looks too small for the dolphins.

Andrew Derek UK posted some picture of his kids at a dolphin excursion on the last repo and they were in a clean pool area. They should be in the summaries under one of the posts/links to the pictures from last repo.

My $ .02 - We are most likely only going to be at the DL hotel for 2 nights, so I would like to be as close as possible. That 3 block walk TO the park is fine - the 3 block walk FROM the park is another thing altogether!

OK, I'm going to get ready for my hockey game now. I really want to go to bed, but I guess not!

wow, :sad1: , i must be getting really old, when a ballon toliet
is getting more attention...lots more...:rotfl:

anyway, just check out the fromt page..i never realized it
could changed...wow, slow  too!

sk8....i like to watch those doing those things, does that count?
[ i did skydive once..but i think was :drinking: ] wanta here a
funny story... about cliff diving?
* i had a very dear friend in the ice capades....girly my hockey
stick!

joel, i do think cedar point is the king of beast...:wizard:

has anyone seen the weather going east?..me can see getting
more overtime....

BBB,I would be glad to mail you one of the videos(I have 2) of the dolphins if someone would like to see. To tell the truth I have never watched it. There is probably a way to put it on the computer somehow but I am not that computer literate.

I'm going to call it a night people.

Sweet dreams.

I think we might see the 19K fall early tomorrow morning. Probably before I get up.

I did say that it would be gone by Monday. Not off by too much.

Ah well, I guess I better start catching up! TV was good tonight and may I just say the Mr. Rob Lowe is looking better than ever!!

Good night....Catch you all tomorrow.
Paula

Sounds like they were a little lenient or something with their description -for instance it is across the street (perhaps) but they fail to mention it's across the street and DOWN aways (a few blocks).

DL and CA are set up almost like a big square. If a hotel is across the street from the back end of the park, they still say they are across the street. Never mind that to get in the park you have to walk 2 miles to the front gates.

When I was doing my "research" to learn more about DL and hotels and such, I came to the realization that DL hotels are way more family friendly than the WDW resorts! Atleast for larger families. They were all listed on the disney website as max 4 adults but most were max 5, 6 or 8 guests! What's up with that? I wonder why you can have a larger family of say 5 in a room there, but at WDW your options for a family of 5 are very limited? Interesting.

Okay, I think I'm obsessed. Here's more information I found out about Cartegena from www.cartegenainfo.net

ARRIVING BY CRUISE SHIP-TIPS ON HAVING FUN
Discover the truth about personal safety in Cartagena

Each year, hundreds of thousands of tourists arrive at our modern Port for a brief visit to Cartagena. Cartagena de Indias was the most important city on the main sea route, then known as: "The Spanish Main". The city held vaults full of gold, silver, emeralds and other treasures looted from the indigenous peoples of the continent, and Central America. Annually, when good sailing months permitted, the hoards were shipped to the treasury of the King of Spain. Because of her stored wealth, Cartagena was high on the "hit list" for the pirates.

Thank you for a very interesting read!:thumbsup2

I love snorkeling in Hawaii. I loved all the turtles. They sometimes really surprise you because you don't realize they are there. We are going in July!
Paula

I kept telling my son that I snorkeled with Crush's cousin. Then when we did Turtle Talk I told him to raise his hand and tell Crush that his mom snorkeld with his cousin....he chicken out though.

That's one thing I did notice on that "map" that I showed a link to- that it's like a square and while some hotels might be close to that square, it doesn't mean it's close to the entrance and could be quite a trek to get there!

Thank you! I would rather know what I am going to get. That isn't a big distance but from their description, I would have expected something else.

Haven't stayed at the Courtyard, but it's a lot farther wak than the Fairfield, not sure the Courtyard is even walkable. Anaheim blocks are LONG blocks.

Sounds like they were a little lenient or something with their description -for instance it is across the street (perhaps) but they fail to mention it's across the street and DOWN aways (a few blocks).

You're welcome. That's the problem with a lot of the info the hotels give out. They always say that they are across the street or 1 block away.

Just called DCL and was able to switch from late to early dining no problem. Those thinking about switching may want to call and check on it today.

Also, I asked about my GTY status. CM said that the whole cruise was basically sold GTY (yeah right) so that there was a little more flexibility to keep families together and that they probably wouldn't be assigning room numbers until closer to the sailing date. :rolleyes2 Now, I'm don't really believe her so I will definitely be calling back at some point, but thought I'd pass along the info anyhow.

But I do believe her! I think a large number of rooms were sold at GTY. I also think this is unfair to put us into this position. Now on when and if they will assign rooms? Your guess is as good as mine.:confused3

I scored a Timeshare exchange at The Manhattan Club (W 57th & 6th). Very hard trade to snag, so I am syked!!! We got great seats to see Mary Poppins on Wednesday, I think. And we will been going to Angelo's for dinner a couple of times. One of the waiters, Jimmy, sees us coming down the street and clears a table for us. We only go there a couple times a year (for the last 15 years) and we just love that he has watched our daughter grow from an infant to pre-teen :goodvibes . Ilove that place. I feel like I am walking on a set of The Sopranos :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Also, we always have brunch at Norma's. Other than that, we are flying by seat of our pants. I am very excited - this is the first time I am spending a whole week there.

ETA: thanks for the offer to answer questions. Perhaps we could meet up for a drink or coffe or something

I keep on meaning to buy tickets for that! :headache:

You're best bet for walking distance hotels is on South Harbor Bl from 1300 - 1750. Then there are a few on Katella too, Dessert Palm Inn and Anabella are 2 that I would consider staying at.

Anything else is too far for a comfortable walk. Some of the farther out ones have free shuttles but most are on the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) route which is $3 per person per day.
