Naturally, the ground control communications frequency fell terribly silent after the verbal bashing of US Air 2771. Nobody wanted to chance engaging the irate ground controller in her current state of mind. Tension in every cockpit out in Gatwick was definitely running high.
Just then an unknown pilot broke the silence and keyed his microphone, asking: "Wasn't I married to you once?"

A Pan Am 727 flight waiting for start clearance in Munich overheard the following:
Lufthansa (in German): "Ground, what is our start clearance time?"
Ground (in English): "If you want an answer you must speak in English."
Lufthansa (in English): "I am a German, flying a German airplane, in Germany. Why must I speak English?"
Unknown voice from another plane (in a beautiful British accent): "Because you lost the bloody war!"

DD's bus should be on the way and the siren on the firehouse keeps going off - hate when that happens!!! I'm a worrier!!! (they have had 4 bus accidents in 2 weeks!!!! - nothing major - but that coupled with this weather.....)

 That would worry me too. I work a mile away from my house and any time I hear a siren headed towards my street I get that sinking feeling in my tummy. Especially around school dismissal time ... schools are about a mile in the other direction.

Last year on one day my kids bus got into an accident pulling into the parking lot at school. New bus driver misjudged how much space between the bus and a car that she side-swiped. The VERY next day ... regular bus driver was back, but the bus got stuck on a patch of ice in front of someone's house. The bus driver had just called to the bus yard for assistance when the owners of the house realized the problem and threw some sand down for the bus to get traction ... Needless to say, I drove them to school the rest of the week :rotfl2:

Don't tell me that I am going to have to get out my

The timing of any impolite remarks following a Spamming genture smacks of an infantile spasm...

How does the driver forget to drop off the kids?:confused3

This was better than the last time this happened. It was raining & I was at the stop in the van to pick them up but the bus went right on by. They had a sub driver. I followed for a while as she missed stop after stop. OY! I finally had to jump out of the car when she did stop & knock on the window to get my kids. On the way home I found out that a friend's DD was still on the bus & she gets off before my kids. Needless to say I called the school to let them know that a lot of parent would be calling upset. The driver didn't have a cell phone that day so they couldn't contact her. Thank goodness I was right there & saw it go by or I would have called the police to get them to find the bus &/or my kids. You never know when some sicko is going to swipe someone up. :(

Oy! I think I am about 3000 posts behind. Not as bad as thought being away for more than two days. Apparently I had an ovarian cyst that burst so I was in the ER on Tuesday night. Feeling almost back to normal today.:thumbsup2 Now to try and find where I left off....

Sad but true.

YIKES! So glad you're feeling better today ... good luck catching up. Hhhmm ... maybe I'll just follow your posts to find stuff that I might have missed myself over the past couple of days ;)

:)

when the siren goes off I do a mental "everyone's home" - think positive thoughts for whoever may be in invloved - and breath a sigh of relief!!! If DDh or Dh are on their way home...I worry a little.

Forgot to post that I am a SAHM. I have kept busy volunteering at the school but that is on hold for now. I keep up with the house, the kids, & the DIS. These days that is a full time job. DH is an aerospace engineer on the V22.
