Now that I'm caught up I need to get some work done around here. See ya later!

On the topic of safety...you just need to be aware of your surroundings...even if they are unfamiliar to you.

Is there anywhere that is 100% safe...no.

We don't and can't live in bubbles!

You just have to be smart-sensible.

Yeah, I saw that one, too. To each their own . . . everyone can choose whether to take a particular cruise, whether to get off the ship, whether to take DCL excursion or go on their own, etc., etc.

Personally I can't imagine not getting off the ship at a port! Cartegena sounds really exciting, and a place I wasn't likely to pick on my own, so I'm glad we are stopping there.

The wife of a friend from work is from Cartegena. He has visited it a few times and says its like any other place. Don't go looking for trouble, or it will find you! My friend did say not to drive in Cartegena, as that in itseld is very scary

Does anyone else love scrapbooking these trips? Wonder if we could setup some scrapbooking time onboard??

There are many scrappers in the group along with someone who owns a shop! I was going to suggest a scrapswap within the group & meet onboard to exchange items one day. :confused3

I'm glad to see discussion of Cartegena. I can't image DCL going somewhere unsafe, but Columbia makes me uncomfortable.

DH has been in Cartagena and says the areas with drug problems are far away from Cartagena. That doesn't mean there isn't a presence, but the main conflicts are far away. Cartagena is well protected because it's their major "cash cow."

Also, Romancing the Stone was filmed in Veracruz, Mexico. Sorry. :confused3

While the Cartagena based story of "Romancing the Stone" with Michael Douglas actually was filmed in Veracruz, Mexico the most famous movie introducing Cartagena was "The Mission": Filmed on location on the Iguazú Falls between Argentinia and Brazil and in the Old Town of Cartagena de Indias. Anyhow: If you ask Cartagena's residents about films made in Cartagena the first movie that comes up is "La Quemada", better known under the Brazilian title "Queimada" or the English translation "Burn".

I'm still working on our 2005 cruise. While I'd love to scrapbook with DISers onboard, I can't imagine having to pack all of the supplies I'd need.

Do I get anything scary for post 16666 reminds me of The omen!

Sun is shining here, too, Mark! Birds are churping. We're counting on the groundhog being correct. I am ready for spring!! We actually may get into the 40's today. Haven't see that in a week or two. We just aren't used to it here . . .And I refuse to try . . .LOL

Enjoy your sunshiny Saturday!

Thanks DiaLady, we will try. In the mean time, I'm still trying to figure out my signature file........... gonna look real bad for me to have to ask for help from the wentch of the houshold...........oh well :confused3

Thanks, Lisa. I've read most of the posts, but still doing my best to keep up. Not sure how you do it . . .LOL

Sounds like a great plan . . .

Well off to get my shower (now that the water is HOT again after DH took his earlier . . .)

Have a magical day!

I'd love to swap pre-made pages or even supplies for a layout. I'll have to follow the lead of the more experienced scrappers on this, though!
