Wow! Cool.

Isn't it funny how they all are different? My DS begged for a tux for our 2005 cruise (when he was 6) so he could dress like Daddy and Grandpa. Both DH and DF have their own tuxes. DH has one because he needs it for the choir we sing with and we have concerts twice a year - definitely cheaper to own than to rent. DF has one because my parents love to ballroom dance and manage to find at least 2 or 3 formal dances each year to attend. My parents cruised with us in 2005 and I got a photo of my 3 guys in their tuxes!

DS was really disappointed last month when we found his tux didn't fit him anymore. There wasn't enough time to get a new one before we cruised, but I have promised him one for this cruise in 2008! (Cool DIS note - I was able to pass on his old tux to a fellow DISer on the Jan13 cruise!)

Handsome bunch you got there. :)

There is one for DMC too ...which I am sure there will be one for AWE by the time we cruise ...

We could do all three ...but would it be better on Deck 9 ? or in the theater ??? Run them all together ...8 hours of movies ?? or do 3 nights ????

What say You ?

They will have to wait until AFTER we pass through TPC.;)

Yep, that's what I did. For our last cruise I got this vest:
[
:rotfl: DW has resigned herself to having to buy a new dress.... oh the horror!!!The one she has had to be tailored A LOT because it didn't fit well. But now that she's loosing weight, she doesn't think further alterations will work.

Well then you and DH will be twins as he has that vest with black labels and has worn it on several cruises.

I have no clue on how we could arrange this on the ship ....But since I am going on the Aug Med Repo I could be sure to ask ...Then again somoene on here might already know ...I know someone mentioned the PJ party and if they can do that then I am sure that we could arrange with someone on the ship .... This would be too funny ....If we did this some other night then Pirate Night then I guess we could all dress up again , so your costume would be worn more then once .....LOL

pirate:

They are going to be so scared of you after your first Repo!:lmao: They will probably let you do whatever you want (unless you are in the number one spot to be bumped);)

DS wore a tux but at 5 months old, he didn't have much of a choice of attire  He'll be 3 for this one so we'll have to make sure he knows how fun it'll be to wear a tux ;)

My son has never dressed up for a cruise. He gets by with a nice shirt and tie that comes off as soon as pictures are done. Since he will be 15 this cruise I am insisting on at least a suit.

I just heard that the area of Upstate NY that has been getting pounded by snow may get another 4 ft of the stuff and the Gov. has declared a state of emergency for certain parts of Oswego county.

:grouphug: :grouphug: To all our DIS'ers in that area - stay safe! You guys are in my thoughts and prayers:grouphug: :grouphug:

Do you know how easy that is?? We finally got around to getting a family picture done and when I went to look for them later, I couldn't find ANY! We had them done with 2 different backgrounds and they had taken multiple pictures. When I went down to the cabin, there they all were. At least 10 of them. I asked DH why he would want to buy all of them, he looked at me and said, "You have to BUY them??" :lmao:

Needless to say I had to take them back and just get the 2 that I really wanted.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I remember you telling me about that! :lmao: :lmao:

We bought DH a Disney tie when we were at WDW in Dec that he wore on dress-up night on the Wonder. I'm definately going to be looking into getting Disney themed stuff for him and DS to wear with their tuxes one night.

I have several Disney ties and will probably wear them all on this cruise (although not at the same time). We made our kids wear shirt-and-tie for the holiday cruise but no tuxedos. I almost didn't rent a tux, but ended up doing so. Not sure if I will do it this time. $100 is a lot of drinking money.

I'm also not sure (and please no beating me for this) if we will bring the pirate garb. It took up a lot of room in the suitcases last time even though we did not go all out.

Well, looks like you guys had another chat fest today while I was away. It took me an hour to get my license done then I stopped by my friend's and we had lunch & chatted until it was time for the kids to get out of school. I found out that the school I want to send the kids to has one of those Lego teams!!!!!!!! DS is going to LOVE that!!!!!

I couldnt agree more with that! On the 2005 repo I rent DH a tux and bought DS one. I was able to get a picture of my DH and DS in their tuxes in front of the mickey statue and it is my favorite picture ever. That picture alone was worth all the money I spent. Needless to say I now make them wear tuxes every cruise. DH is ok with it - DS needs a little coaxing, bribing, whatever works.....

Everytime it is a challenge with DS now. On the first cruise, the first formal night the shirt had the "pull tab" collar so it was easy to button. The second shirt didn't and we pinched his neck a little trying to button it. Needless to say, we used the first shirt a second time.

So now he remembers that and I have to be very careful buttoning it. next time I'm going to order him one that is at least 1/2 inch too big. Last time I put 2 finger in when taking the measurement and rounded up to the next 1/4 or 1/2 and the shirt was still too small in the neck.

We MAY end up skipping one or both formal nights...
DPartner and I were talking about it, and we did formal night on our 7 night, and it was just so much extra stuff (and that was just for the 2 of us! I can't imagine for the 2 of us and a child!) But as the time gets closer, I may change my mind. Being that we'll be on our first vacation as a family with a child, it sure would be nice to get one nice picture of us all fancied up!

Other than wanting the picture though, I think I could probably just skip it and go for the buffet just to avoid having to get all dressed up and do the hair and the makeup and the jewelrey and the ironing and such...

We'll see...

we are thinking the same thing,,,,did it on the 7 nt because it was our first cruise in years and wanted to try for a nice photo, but there seems to be no such thing with me in it....not sure it is worth it with so slim a chance of getting a good pic!!!:rotfl: I've gotten to the point of just having DD do the photo ops 'cause she is photogenic - unlike her mom!!! I will waffle back and forth on it right up until the cruise!!!! :)

I'd love to get DS involved in FIRST Lego and then the HS robotics one. My company is a big sponsor here in IL, but our school doesn't seem to be involved in it and I am not sure how to motivate them. They brought the robot that won the national championship in the HS (non-Lego) competition to our offices last year (we were the sponsor of the winning team) and my son was so interested in hearing how they built it.

Maybe he will be the engineer I always wanted to be. (Went to school to be an engineer and got sidetracked along the way)
