Morning Mates!

It's a little nippy here in NY - 14* and we're supposed to get up to 25* today - heatwave!

Got a boat load of work to get through today - see ya later!

Great job ladies on the weight loss. Keep up the great work!!! Now that SB is over we are back to WW in my house - no point soup (good time for this with the weather being so cold) and salad for dinner, especially for DH, he is the one who has to lose the most....I own a Scrapbook store on Staten Island, and one of my good customers is one of the WW ladies, maybe you know Gloria....

Again, just trying to keep up here...missed 1 day and sooooooooo far behind.

Debi

Hi Debi, scrapbooking is ONE of my passions. I started about 2 1/2 years ago and for the most part I have done from 1988 (DS born) and I stay pretty current.

Does anyone know--

If I transfer my DCL ressie to DU, will I still be able to call DCL directly to buy stateroom credits?

When we know we're cruising, I buy stateroom credits for DH for things like Valentine's Day, Father's Day, etc. That way he gets a card from me and a small gift on the holiday, plus a big stack of room credit cards printed by DCL on the cruise.

I'm on a mission to make it an almost comical stack of stateroom credits, since I have 18 months to work on this project, and I don't want to be ticking off a TA by calling every 4-6 weeks to buy a credit.

With this cruise a distant 18 months away, what are some of your other vacation plans?

As you can see, I'm a bit behind this morning ... but I wanted to answer this question. In April we'll be heading down to spend some time with FIL on the west coast of FL. We'll leave his house early one Sunday morning and head to the port for a 4-day cruise on the Wonder. When we debark from the Wonder we're heading to WDW to spend 6 days w/MIL. AND, I just found out yesterday that one of my SIL's will be there with her 3 kids too :woohoo:

We had a 9-night Princess cruise scheduled for this summer for our 15th anniversary, but we're cancelling it to do this trip instead. I try not to think about it too much.

No no no! I don't see the jughandle turn to get to Jersey!

Can someone please help me with this?

If I were making a left through the jughandle turn following this diagram, wouldn't that put me head-on in the oncoming traffic lane? I'm thinking I should be in the far right lane instead? :confused3

Sounds like a lot of fun. We like to do trips with our families, but they are few and far between with them.

Hi Enna, I think that quite a few of us have changed some plans for this trip.

Just caught up - morning everyone!!!:sunny:

BBB- sorry if it was mentioned - but about the migraines - you said something about drinking the soda and nothing else - it could be dehydration causing the migraine. I get migraines when I haven't thought to drink enough water through the day - also lights, like glare off snow or flashing lights....

I just do OTC - luckily I only get them once/twice a month. I can't do Imitrex - have a history of TIA's - but the "catch22" is the TIAs were brought on by complicated migraines.

My DD9 is also late with the teeth - she was late getting them and late losing them. She isn't even to her Molars yet. She had a few extracted last year - and we are waiting to see if two on the top need to be extracted...the ones next to the molars. The adult ones are starting to come in - but no sign of the baby ones even getting loose. We go back in April. She hasn't even lost all her baby teeth - and yet we have had to start her on acne meds.......poor kiddo!

Music - DD started Viola this year - 3rd. She is doing good as far as the music, but she needs to be reminded to treat the instrument carefully. She forgets and runs it into things - being older would help in that regard. Just now everyone in 3rd is starting the precorder to get ready to try out for band...I am worried this will get frustrating for DD because the notes are different - different scale or whatever ( I played in High School band but can't remember the technical terms....:sad2: )

We are getting 6 more inches of snow today...I need to get out to the mall to get DD stockings and a few other things. She and DH have their father-daughter Valentine's dance Friday night - I totally forgot to look for stockings when we picked out a dress....

A confession: got out Pirate Mickey and Mr Potato Head - put them on the computer desk to help get through the next 18 months - Mr PH has on his DCL Capts hat - and I taped the our pirate logo to his suitcase!pirate:

edited to add : I didn't realize Cinderella 3 came with a pin until reading it here yesterday - thank you everyone...sounds like I will pick one up for DD 's Val's day as well....please tell me it is better than Cinderella 2?????

Good Morning Everyone :)

I can DIS all morning. My (daycare)baby is sick so am free untill the kids get home from pre-school (then all hell brakes loose :scared: ) They think the baby (18mnths) has Mono. I have never heard of that in a baby before. The tests should be back sometime today to confirm it, or discount it. Poor little bugger. He's been waking up from his nap lately going into a full blown temper tantrum. It would take me 1/2 hour to calm him down. This has been going on for a few weeks and I suggested to Mom that he might have an ear infection. Julia always woke up in pain when she had an ear infection. But, his ears are perfect and strep came back negative.

Last night I took DD to an open house for the clubs/after school programs that are being offered at the Middle School she is entering next year. She has become less and less motivated as the school years are progressing, so I told her she needs to pick a club to join. THere's Math, Drama (perfect for her), Yearbook and all kinds of other activity & academic clubs. So, what does she pick........she wants ME to host a Japanese Student for two weeks. I think it is a great idea, but not what I had in mind when I brought her down there. I'm thinking Math Club, Chorus....not I have to learn Japanese and subject this kid to our crazy house. When I told her I would have to think about that one I got, "Yeah sure, you tell me to get involved and the one thing I pick you don't want me to do".

Wow, I just hit 400 posts (which took me years), do you think I can make 1,000 by the time we cruise....keeping up with this thread just might get me there...:rotfl: :rotfl:
Debi

stay with this thread and you will have no problem ..:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hi everyone!:surfweb:

Is everyone staying warm? I too am going to put my tax refund into a CD where I cannot touch it and hopefully have a llittle extra for the tips and excursions.

I tried to go on the DCL web site and it stated temporarily unavailable. Maybe they are assigning all the GTY rooms.!!

I can only hope!

......and by all means......bring batteries! The more batteries we have, the longer we can stay out on Secret Aft Deck 7

We usually travel with rechargable batteries and a battery charger. Can I come hang out on the secret deck, too?

Phew! Caught up & now off to the gym! Be back to catch up again later! :surfweb: Have a good day everyone! :wave2:

I just noticed you can get a Cat 5 for the repo on DCL's website.

Not sure if any other room categories will become available soon (we're looking at changing our room location).

"Yeah sure, you tell me to get involved and the one thing I pick you don't want me to do".
What a classic line preteen line from your 11 yo . . .LOL.
My very motivated DS12 has been going through the same thing. It is so frustrating. Even more so for DH.

DS12 has played well at baseball since age 6. Suddenly he doesn't even want to swing the bat at the batting cage. He says he wants to play, but puts no effort into it. In the past, he would go in the backyard on his own and hit 30-50 balls a day. He also practiced his pitching daily. All of this was on his own . . .because he wanted to (we're not trying to push him). Not sure what to do it at this point . . .

Oh and remember the Japanese need to be exposed to our crazy homes . . .LOL.

The other problem is having the drivers remember who has the right of way...:confused3

In NJ, no one follows the right of way. It is dictated by which road leading in is the biggest.:lmao:

Now the ones I ran into in Cape Cod were different. People actually obeyed the right of way.:rolleyes1

I really think it's the hormones kicking in - our DS11 is pretty much the same. We're trying to be as supportive as possible and have also limited things like how long he can play video games, etc.

But I have to tell you, he has exchanged a couple of emails with buckifan/Deena's son Drew and he suddenly wants to check his email and do things so he has something to talk about. In many ways I think this cruise is going to help him get through some of the pre-teen/early teen stuff.
