I asked my boss before we even booked - actually when we were just talking about the possibility of it happening. First he said there was no way we going to do it, then he started getting wishy washy and told me to wait and see. The morning of the 31st I walked into his office and said "Pencil it in - gone for the last two weeks of Aug 08, and by the way taking a day or two off the week before." I thought he was going to throw up!

My 4 yo DD just came up to me with her little Doodle Pro and had drawn me a picture of a "Pickle Sun?!?!" ( I guess her circle didn't come out the way she wanted) She made sure I saw that it had M O M on it so it is mine to keep.

Thanks but I really need to just steer clear of the soda completely. Back when I lost the weight before- no matter WHAT kind of diet drink I drank (even those with splenda like diet rite, etc.) would stall my weightloss. I have to be all about the water, and plenty of it, to lose weight. Plus if I would ever drink a diet soda of any sort- it would also start the cravings for things involving sugar. I'm a sugar-holic... my body can't just have a little sugar (of any kind/form/substitute) without wanting more more more!

I'm right there with you. Water is all I drink. Milk even causes problems. And God forgive if I eat any sugar I can't stop and then I get sick. I end up in pain. So I am doing my best between now and the vacation to be as good as I can so I can eat all the good stuff on the cruise and not end up in so much pain I don't have fun. At least thats the plan. And if I lose a little (30 lb or so) of weight in the meantime that wouldn't be bad either.

Pleeeease tell me how you convice your DD4 to clean the basement? I can barely manage to convice my DD7, while holding a green garbage bag, why it is so important for her to clean her room!

My name is Cinderella Mom and I'm a Pepsi-holic.

Seriously, I don't know how it happened. Before DD was born I had soda maybe on the weekends or if we went out to dinner. Then, no soda for almost 3 years from before I was pregnant until she was 2. Now, it's almost every morning, instead of coffee. And it has to be out of a fountain. I am trying, but between the sugar cravings and the caffeine withdrawl headaches, it's really hard.

Did you call DCL or a TA? I got the "Since you used a TA..." spiel from DCL when I last called them. I emailed DU, but haven't heard anything about a room #.

I used DU as well. My response was, "DCL can assign the stateroom at anytime but chances are it will not be until just before the sailing date." Don't get me wrong, I'm not unhappy with DU at all! It just makes me wonder if DCL drags their feet for the TAs who've booked and satify their direct bookings first. Truth be told, it does make sense.

Look at it this way...maybe the "upgrade fairy" will sprinkle a little pixie dust on those who wait the longest?

I haven't talked to my boss about it yet. But I figure by then, he'll owe it to me anyway...and if he tries to say no, I'll just blackmale him...
