Shelley, we had lime green rubber bracelets last time with the group name & date on them. I am going to find out what would be involved with getting them done for this group. You can wear them all the time & not get in the way.

Well, as long as they are a color that's noticable. Those rubber bracelets are pretty popular nowadays and if it's a dark color like black or something... we'll never know if that's really a DIS'er or someone wearing a black watch, regular bracelet, etc. KWIM?
Maybe if I pinned it to my shirt or taped it to my forehead people would notice us. LOL

That wouldn't work for my son. He's a collector of these type of bracelets and has about 10 on his wrist right now.

Maybe I could tell him to wear the trip one on the other arm??

All the laundry talk a few pages back reminded me. I had promised to wash a particular outfit for my DS to wear to church tomorrow. Just realized I hadn't washed it. Guess I'm not going to bed any time soon. :laundy:

Ow!

My DH is the 4th out of 5 - another catholic family, but not Irish - German/English. Now my family, only two us (my dad's Italian but my mom is also German/English convert).

I'm the baby of 5 and DH is one of 10! My mom now has 16 GK and MIL has lost count.:rotfl:

Actually a Cat 7 is the Navigators Verandah and a Cat 5 is the same as Cat 6 just on Deck 7 ...all cat 6's are on deck 6 cat 5's are on Deck 7

Hope this helps

Just like I said, Location, location, location......;)

We need to think of something that EVERYONE could wear- whether they buy a shirt or not (oops, I almost spelled it like "someone else" like this: ****), kinda like the buttons we had for the other cruise which everyone had one- we didn't have to buy them (I believe Mary made them but if I'm wrong about that I'm in big trouble for having such a bad memory. It was so awesome of her to do that!)
I want to be able to recognize everyone (whether you like it or not arrrrr) -not just those that bought shirts, ironed on transfers, etc. (ps. I've never even tried ironing on transfers to shirts- but I'm going to give it a whirl. If they turn out bad... we may not wear the shirts though. LOL)

Look people, just write DIS in lime green on your forehead (every day) and we'll be good to go. Deal?

oh no. I so hate when that happens! And yes, it's happened to me before!

Stacey, I get it on the location- but what's such a big deal about deck 7 instead of 6 to cost that much more? I'm trying to understand that. Personally I wish they had cat 6 verandahs on deck 5- that would be MY dream location. LOL

You got it Maureen!!!

Listen, someone please help me stop the email INSANITY!! I keep unsubscribing to the thread but email keeps pouring in by the bucket load. Can someone help me please?

Actually, I usually take my oldest underwear and socks on vacation and then throw them away, leaving room for souvenirs on the way back.

Some day, though, knowing Disney, they are going to find my underwear and socks in the trash and mail it back to me, thinking I forgot to pack it.

We do that too. We toss out the old t-shirts that we wear when we snorkel, too.
At the end of our last trip to Bonaire, we saw the maids holding up our shirts, comparing, and trading! :sad2:

I have four in my family - me being the oldest. We're Catholic, mostly Irish, but also Native American and Lituanian (sp?). Gee, how can you be something you can't even spell :rotfl2:

I don't really see why the higher decks are more expensive...I guess because maybe they offer a better view?? But that's the way it is on all cruise ships.
Being higher up didn't do me any good last time, when I was trying to take a picture of the dolphins waaay down in the water!!

You saw dolphins?!?

Maybe my daughter needs to come sleepover with you guys and stay in your room so she can see dolphins too. Or just follow you around like a puppy dog until dolphins are sighted. :rotfl:

I don't get the higher up thing either. It's just further to go down to stuff and isn't there more of a chance of seasickness the higher up? Or is that lower.

I think it would be so neat to be under water but with a porthole to see under water like a submarine type thing the entire time. Probably not possible, but it would be neat if so!

I don't know what it is about being higher either, but since I've always been on the bottom decks on all my previous cruises, I'm excited to be on deck 5 for this one. Just knowing that the higher decks are more expensive has got my mind thinking that we're in a "better" cabin. Still an inside broom closet, but hey, we're on a higher deck gosh darnit. :rotfl:

Actually, there's a funny story there. It was on the September trip, and we were coming into St Lucia. We'd hired a private boat to take us out whale and dolphin watching that day. We were so excited, because we'd been told we were at least guaranteed to see dolphin. And we'd paid a small fortune for the private boat...
So when we saw the pod of dolphins as we headed into port, we were really excited, because we knew they were out there!

So we get on this really gorgeous boat, head out into the ocean.....and sit there for hours......

NOTHING! Not one dolphin.....not even a FISH!!!!!

I don't think your daughter wants to follow me around waiting to see a dolphin!!

I'm heading for bed...but before I forget

CONGRATULATIONS, CAPTAIN, ON YOUR 2000th POST pirate: !!!

Oh, one more thing....this kind of got lost in the race for the 10,000th post, but we're going to Disneyland next month, and I wanted to know if anyone needed anything from there?

I'm only taking a duffel, so nothing too big!

Well you two sound a lot alike. Or maybe it's you and me. I don't know. Anyway, I'd promised swimming with dolphins (to daughter) and ofcourse because of the hurricane that wasn't going to happen on that cruise. So I tried to soften the blow by the possibility of seeing dolphins on the ship- never once did ANY of us see anything other than one flying fish next to the boat one time. Whoopdedoo. Then after the cruise heard people saw dolphins as we were leaving PC! We weren't in the right place to see them apparently.

Ohwell, next cruise we hope to be able to do the dolphin swim. So she had to wait oh like 4 almost 5yrs (from the time we booked the first cruise to the time we actually cruise in 2008) - hopefully it WILL happen someday.

WOW!!! What a busy thread!! We've been busy busy busy too!! We're in a whirlwind of crazy adoption stuff this weekend! We're trying to get the homestudy stuff finalized so that we can get started!! It's a CRAZY amount of red tape and I have BIG headache right now. :headache:
But it will all be worth it we have a new addition to our family!! :cloud9:
I so need sleep, but I cannot wind down...I decided to stop in here and see how things were going...Looks like a couple of BIG milestones.
Congrats everyone for getting past 10000!!! :dance3:

I did a little bit of quick glancing/catching up, and one thing that I wanted to comment on is that whatever we do with the t-****s :rolleyes1 thing, count us in! DPartner thinks I'm nots with the whole DIS thing, but I'm having fun!! I want the iron-ons!!! I'm a good iron-on-er!!! :thumbsup2

OK, I suppose it's really time to try and sleep. Lots to do again tomorrow, or today...or whatever it is...LOL
G'Night!

For our cruise last year, we left WDW and told the kids we were, "Going to go look at the ocean since we're this close." We happened to find the ocean near the port, where I promptly announced that I needed to use the bathroom....maybe Disney would let me use theirs since I still had my t-shirt & ears on from WDW. As we sat on the drawbridge near the terminal, I flipped down my windshield visor, and a note from Tinkerbelle fell saying, "You are going on a Disney Cruise" with the date. The kids were in shock all the way through the check-in process, picture with Minnie & walk through the ear tube. The blank look last through lunch, and the giggles started at the Mickey pool.

While they were swimming (DH supervising) I went down to the room to unpack quickly. I wasn't gone long enough for them to notice. When we went to the room after swimming/for muster drill, they found their clothes (princess dresses, priate costumes, etc.) in the closet and it was at that moment that it sunk in that we were really going to be going on the cruise.

We're going to do our best to keep this cruise under wraps for a while. As much as I'd love to show up at the port, I think it will be more important to have the kids make some DIS friends and learn a little about the geography, cruise ports, etc. prior to getting on the ship this time. Still, if you can pull this off as a surprise, it's worth it for that big WOW.

That sounds awesome. My kids already know abiut this one. I am pretty bad at keeping my own secrets in. Well, excrpt for with DH. Your deiscription sounds like him when we went on the 12/9 Double Dip and he saw all the green shirts and they started talking with us!!:scared1: :lmao: :rotfl2:
