Hi! Can I rejoin this thread? I posted a few times last winter or spring, but life got busy (I went back to work full time after being a Stay at home mom for 5 years) and I haven't posted since then.

I'm excited to get to know everyone and looking forward to 7 months from today!! Krista

I got conformation today that indeed we have filled the big ship already. They are still getting requests for the second ship. Who knows we may have both of the Jolly Pirate ships occupied.

Do you know if it is all DIS people on the ship? I don't remember mentioning the DIS or "Jolly Roger" when we booked - were they willing to give you a list of who was on it? I would hate to miss out and be on the wrong boat! We registered pretty early (I think the 1st day it was discussed here).

My brother Mark doesn't know what port he wants to dive yet either. He's not a good planner. I already booked us on the Jolly Pirate to snorkel. So if he ends up diving in Aruba, I'll have an extra ticket.

I am looking for a new digital camera. Mine was good in its day -- Nikon Coolpix 3 megapixel -- but I want something that is going to give me better definition, more stabilization (especially with close ups) and lots of other neat stuff.

Can any of you give me an idea of what your favorite camera is? Why do you like it so much? Would you post a sample picture so that I can see what kind of picture it takes?

I would really appreciate it. I'd like to get the new camera for the EB cruise and want to have some time to practice with it beforehand.

Here in Northwest Indiana (30 minutes from downtown Chicago), they are talking about 30 below wind chill by Saturday. The winds are already beginning to howl, the temperature drop, and the drizzle falling is turning to ice on our sidewalks and streets. Lots of spinouts on the expressway and tollroad tonight. <sigh>

I am looking very closely at the new Sony P&S. As much as I want to deny it- I do not have the time or patience for a DSLR at this time.
My DH and Sis both have Sony's and love them. Personally I have always been a Nikon girl but the new Sony(maybe T200???) has 5x zoom and everything else mt Nikon has now- makes it hard to not give it a look.

OMG! We are going down to 25 or so and you would think it was the official Ice Age. We are just not used to really being cold in Dallas. I surely hope my Dh turned on the heaters in the greenhouse.
